Dear Ms. Davis,

For my Pride Paper, I have chosen to write about the topic of psychology. I became interested in
the mental health field at a young age because my cousin was diagnosed with Aspergers and I
wanted to find out more about it. I would like to specifically focus on the psychology of people
on the Autism Spectrum. Most of my family members also work in the mental health field so I
have had a large amount of exposure to it.

My paper will include information on college programs and the job market for psychology. I will
organize it by explaining the different programs and college options and the explain the job
market. I hope to learn about the best ways to go about succeeding in a psychology program in
order to prepare for my future college experience.

My mentor for my project will be a professional in the field of psychology, preferably that
specializes in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). During my mentor hours I would like to
shadow the person to get an idea of what their job involves. For my product I would like to
create a lesson plan for a social skills group for children with ASD and then run a group for six
weeks.

I have read Pine Lake’s ethics guide and understand that plagiarism, either intentional or
unintentional, will result in a zero on my paper.
