Time Motivation and Introduction:

10am MOTIVATION where they will be introduced.
1. The students are sitting on the mat in front of the projector. The Projector
teacher displays a variety of images and videos of Jesus Christ Images & videos
(see appendix 1).
Teacher asks: “Looking at these videos and images of Jesus in action,
what are some of the things he does that displays his love and
goodness?”
Answer: Performing miracles, loving all (tax collectors, poor, sick), healed
and engaged with the sick and poor
Extension answer: Jesus used his body to display his love and inner
goodness directed towards all.

The teacher reminds students they will be handing out faction tokens for
correct behaviour.

10:05 INTRODUCTION
“Today we will be looking at the scripture reference of Matthew 14:13-21.
This tells the story of Jesus blessing the bread, which he then gave to his
disciples with his hands as he multiplied five loaves and two fish to feed
more than five thousand people.”

“Does anyone know this story and want to explain it to the class?”

CONTENT
“Throughout Jesus’ life, death and resurrection he displayed acts of love
towards God’s people. Examples of these actions are:

. freed people from sin and the influence of the evil one 


. brought people to share in God’s own divine life 


. revealed God’s love and closeness 


. modelled how to live in a truly human way in response to that love.”

The teacher asks the students to sit on the carpet with their own student
bibles and search through gospels Matthew, Mark and Luke to find
examples of Jesus using his body to show love and goodness. (Faith)

Students return to their desks and complete their wonder card (see

appendix 2) reflecting on the Godly play script. (Literacy)

Transition: (What needs to happen prior to the next lesson?)

Have the councillors to collect the wonder cards and place them on the
teacher’s desk. Students return to their desk and stand behind their chair
for further instructions.
