SPECIAL APPLICATIONS
INSPECTION CONNECTION

For the intervener’s safety, an inspection input on the cab roof allows
directly checking the door.

Wiring : Connect a NO dry contact between the common (33) and the INSPECTION
input (28) controlled by the inspection command.

Operation : When the ″INSPECTION″ command is activated, ARIANE no longer

commands automatic control movements at the door, and the orders are no longer
pulsed.
The maintained order to open forces an opening at slow speed.
The maintained order to close forces a closing at slow speed.

Checkouts : To allow the checkout, when the ″inspection″ command is activated, the
commands from the ARIANE keyboard remain active and all the Manual Commands can be
deliberately performed.

PARAMETERIZABLE RELAY OUTPUTS (NO contacts)

Two relay outputs, RMF1 and RMF2, can be equally assigned to four functions :
A) Intermediate stop, B) Electromagnetic suction disc, C) Buzzer, or D) Electrocam.

Wirings : RMF1 Contact, terminals 20-21 ; RMF2 Contact, terminals 22-23

A) OPERATOR WITH INTERMEDIATE OPENING STOP

The ARIANE card allows controlling, when it drives an Operator of a door with a lateral
telescopic opening equipped with an intermediate retractable stop, a complete or partial
opening of the door panels from the cab. With this function, which is designed to
optimise the flow, you can use the same device either as a goods lift when the door
panels are completely open, or as a passengers elevator, when the door panels are
partially open.
This stop must be wired to the parameterizable rMF1 or rMF2 output.

B) OPERATOR EQUIPPED WITH AN ELECTROMAGNETIC SUCTION DISC

This suction disc must be wired to the parameterizable rMF1 or rMF2 output.
The ARIANE card drives the suction disc via the relay contact ; provide for a specific power
supply if it is different from the card’s power supply (230Vac).

Ref : 2670000_A 8 27/11/14

C) OPERATOR EQUIPPED WITH A BUZZER

The buzzer must be wired to the parameterizable rMF1 or rMF2 output.

The buzzer buzzes during resetting, after a mains power cut-off, nudging (forced slow
closing), or during keyboard commands.

D) OPERATOR EQUIPPED WITH AN ELECTROCAM

The cam command can be wired to the parameterizable rMF1 or rMF2 output. It will be
managed depending on the door type (semi-automatic or automatic) in accordance with
the Standard NFP 82-212, article 4.2.14.a)

CONNECTING THE CELLS SAFETY LIGHT BARRIER

The cells safety light barrier can be connected to the ARIANE card and also powered by it if
the barrier is supplied with 12v. The signal must be a Normally Closed (NF) type.

- To adapt to the used control system’s operating mode, the cells barrier may be
inhibited or not while the door is reset after a mains power cut-off.
- If the card operates as the slave, the cell signal is simply fed back to the control
system via the shock signal.
- If the card operates as master 1, the cell signal completely opens the door and it is
also transmitted to the control system via the shock signal.
- If the card operates as master 2, the cell signal opens the door only when it is
obstructed, and then will immediately close it afterwards. The cell signal is not
transmitted to the control system via the shock signal except if the cell’s obstruction
persists.

Wirings : Power Supply, terminals 25-27 ; NF Signal, terminals 26-27

SPECIAL PARAMETER SETTINGS :

The ARIANE card adapts to the operators management with particularities thanks to
adjustable parameters. For example, in the case of glazed doors, or the use of cab door
locking device, or traffic adaptation.

- OPERATORS USED IN FRONT OF SEMI-AUTOMATIC DOORS

The cab is held open with a mechanical hook. In this case, set the MSTO parameter to
NON (NO).

If there are semi-automatic or automatic doors depending on the floors, the operator
must have a hook to open and close the doors. Set the parameters as follows :
MSTO : NON (NO)
MSTF : NON (NO) or DEPL (MOVE)

Ref : 2670000_A 9 27/11/14

- OPERATOR FOR GLAZED DOORS

In accordance with articles 7.2.3.6 and 8.6.7.5 of the Standard NF EN 81-1/2, Ariane
allows detecting the catching of a child’s finger during an opening and triggering a partial
closing for glazed doors.
The card must be configured in glazed door (VITR=OUI (YES)) and then the DURO
parameter can be set to fit the desired sensitivity as well as the opening torque values
U1-O and U2-O.

- OPERATOR EQUIPPED WITH CDL (cab door locking device)

For operators equipped with a Cab Door Locking (CDL) device, the skate travel in
Opening (CSO) may have to be increased, where necessary, to allow a good unlocking of
the CDL device in slow speed before the panels accelerate.

- ADAPTATION TO TRAFFIC

For the sake of energy saving and less wear on the equipment, the ARIANE card may be
allowed to go to a reduced opening and closing speed if the calls are spaced very far
apart. The call/call timeout is set with ″TA-O″ and the desired speed reduction with ″R-
FP″.

ENERGY SAVE

- The display goes to standby (energy save) after 15 minutes have elapsed without a
keyboard command (display of a moving point).
- Automatic door opening movements may be performed at reduced speed when traffic
is light.

For more information about the settings for these special applications, refer to the After-
Sales Service (SAV) Manual.

ENCODER FAILURE

- In case the encoder fails, the door continues to operate in downgraded mode : slow
speed and timed limit switches.

SHOCK DETECTION DURING CLOSING

- The door slows down at the spot where the shock occurred already during the second
closing.

GLOSSARY
THE VARIOUS COMMAND MODES

With the command modes CMD1 / 3 / 5 / 7, you can test and set the parameters of your
door.

CMD1 Learning operation for the full travel range

When this command is sent, the display indicates ″APPR″. The card triggers an opening
cycle and then a closing cycle at the end of which the encoder’s absolute value is saved
as the reference full travel range.
If a learning operation was unsuccessful, the ″APPR″ or the ″Err6″ message (cf.
page 23) will remain displayed at the end of the learning operation. You will
have to redo it after the fault is eliminated (deleted).

CMD3 Motor’s direct command

In this mode, the motor is activated in the opening direction and in the closing
direction .
The motor stops as soon as the key is released. This command, among others, is
intended to check the motor’s rotational direction. To quit this mode, press the key.

CMD5 Openings and closings by ″O″ and ″F″

Accessible only after the learning operation (CMD1) has been performed. When the
key is pressed, it interrupts a closing cycle, if any, and starts an opening cycle. When
the key is pressed, it interrupts an opening cycle, if any, and starts a closing cycle.
To quit this mode, press the key.

CMD7 Opening/closing cycles

Accessible only after the learning operation (CMD1) has been performed. In this mode,
the door continuously executes opening/closing cycles. Whenever one of the keys or
is pressed, the door’s opening direction is reversed.
To quit this mode, press the key.

Ref : 2670000_A 11 27/11/14

The command modes CMD2/4/6/8 are specific to the settings of the
doors with an intermediate opening (total or partial door opening on
demand)

CMD2 Learning operation of the intermediate travel range

To start this command, the learning operation of the full travel range (CMD1) must
have already been performed. Before starting the CMD2, the door must be in the closed
position.
The card triggers an opening cycle and then a closing cycle at the end of which the
encoder’s absolute value is saved as the reference intermediate travel range.
If a new learning operation of the full travel range is performed, the intermediate travel
range has to be redone.

CMD4 Motor’s direct command (intermediate opening)

The CMD4 mode is exactly the same as the CMD3 mode, but for the intermediate travel
range.

CMD6 Intermediate openings and closings with and

The CMD6 mode is exactly the same as the CMD5 mode, but the key starts an
intermediate opening cycle. This mode is accessible only if the intermediate learning
operation (CMD2) has been done.

CMD8 Intermediate opening/closing cycles

The CMD8 mode is exactly the same as the CMD7 mode, but the openings are made
over the intermediate travel range. This mode is accessible only if the intermediate
learning operation (CMD2) has been done.

(to be moderately modified).

OPERATING VALUES
The speeds are expressed according to the frequency sent to the motor - therefore in
Hz. They correspond to the various door opening or closing phases ; they are called by
their abbreviation : for example, FP-O = Cruise Opening Frequency.

The ramps of acceleration or deceleration correspond to the time it takes to go,

respectively, from 0 to 50 Hz or from 50 to 0 Hz expressed in seconds.

The travel ranges are expressed in encoder points, which correspond roughly to a few
millimeters.

The door hardnesses are expressed in % of speed drop off triggering a reopening. The
higher the %, the harder the door.

The torques are directly dependent on the voltage sent to the motor. Therefore, they are
expressed in Volts.
The minimum voltage values are defined for a 2 Hz frequency and the maximum voltage
values for a 50 Hz frequency.
The voltage sent to the motor during the operation is calculated between these two
extreme values according to the frequency.
There are three separate parameter settings : opening, closing and skate.
