PURPOSE: To establish a standard approach on transcribing medications

SCOPE: This procedure shall cover the verification of orders until the transcription on the medication

TITLE: Medication Administration – Oral Route

PURPOSE: To establish a standard approach on administration of medications Per Orem

SCOPE: This procedure shall cover the verification of order, the 10 rights of medication administration
until the documentation.

5. Breaks ampules with ampule breakers.

7. Disinfects Y-port of tubing with alcoholized cotton ball.
8. Administers medication.
9. Disposes wrapping in appropriate waste disposal bin according to hospital
segregation policy.
