UCPB General Insurance Company, Inc.

is the non-life insurance company arm of the

UCPB Financial Services Group.

Established in January 1963 as Allied Guarantee Insurance Company, Inc., the

company built a solid reputation as one of the largest and strongest non-life insurance
companies in the Philippines. By 1989, it has been wholly owned by United Coconut
Planters Life Assurance Corporation (Cocolife), making it the UCPB GEN that it is
now.

UCPB GEN offers a wide array of quality non-life insurance products and services
designed to protect everything a Filipino values, from tangible, hard-earned assets
such as your home, business, and your car, to something as priceless as your loved
ones and yourself.

In an industry with over 60 players, UCPB GEN has consistently been among the

institutions. Our milestones speak for themselves:

1997 - Ranked 7th in the Financial Intermediation Sector of Business World’s Top
1000 Corporations for posting an impressive 200.27% Net Income growth for 1996.
1998 – A full online operation was implemented through General Insurance System
(GIS).

1999 – Gawa Agad service was launched, a new concept in motor car insurance
claims that highly improves claims processing time by authorizing select repair shops
to perform claims administration.

1999 – Become ISO 9002 – Certified

1999 – Capital increased from Php50M to Php100M

2000 – Launched Customer Service Center

2001 – UCPB GEN hit the Php 1 billion mark in sales

2001 – The company website, www.ucpbgen.com was launched and qualified as a

semifinalist in the 4th Philippine Web Awards

2002 – All UCPB GEN offices nationwide got certified with ISO 9002

2002 – Capital increased from Php100M to Php200M

2003 – Became the first company in non-life insurance industry to be certified with
ISO 9001-2000

2003 – Implemented online claims evaluation which allowed for real-time delivery
and approval of repair evaluation as well as faster claim processing

2004 – Capital increased from Php300M to Php500M

2004 – Received the BIR Super Grower Award (CY2003)

2005 – UCPB GEN was awarded the “Best Non-Life Insurance Company” by the
Consumers Union of the Philippines (CUP) and the National Product Quality
Excellence Awards (NPQEA)
2010 – Converted ISO 9001-2000 certification to ISO 9001-2008, the first in non-life
insurance industry

2010 – Launched its official tagline “At UCPB GEN, every day starts with U.” to
represent our commitment of service excellence to our customers

2010 – UCPB GEN Head Office moved to UCPB Building, Makati Avenue, Makati
City

2012 – Hit Php 2 billion mark in premiums

2013 – UCPB GEN celebrated its 50th year in the non-life insurance industry.

2014 – Posted the highest GPW and income of Php 2.6 Billion and Php 76 Million

2015 – Posted a net income of Php 100 M

2015 – Adopted Magilas, a Philippine Eagle from the Philippine Eagle Foundation

2016 – Re-launched website with new features and e-commerce capabilities
