1. What is the WYA charter and what is its three main ideas?

The World Youth Alliance charter states the WYA beliefs, values, mission
and visions. It is composed of young men and women from every part of the
world. In cooperation with other organs of the international community,
primarily the United Nations and the European Union, the World Youth Alliance
is committed to building free and just societies through a culture of life. The 3
main ideas of WYA are; the intrinsic dignity of the person is the foundation of
every human right, it is possessed by every human being from conception to
natural death is the foundation of everyone’s right to life: family is a
fundamental unit in a human society and lastly, authentic development of
society can occur only in a culture that fosters integral human development –
characterized by physical, spiritual, mental, and emotional growth, in a climate
of respect for the human person and the family.

2. How did Anna Halphine respond to the 3 demands of the youth caucus during
the 1999 convention on human population and development?
Anna Halphine realized that those 32 youths who demanded: abortion as
human rights, children rights to sex and deletion of parent’s rights and who also
claim that they represent all 3 billion youth from all over the world doesn’t
represent her. Because of conscience she decided to go back in the convention
along with few others. They distributed pink flyers that stated that these youths
do not represent all the worlds youth.

3.How do the idea of WYA charter serves as alternatives to the three demands
of Youth caucus?
In 1999 the World Youth Alliance was founded in New York at the United
Nations. At a conference on Population and Development, thirty-two young
people were brought in to the negotiations and given the floor. They stated that
they represented all three (3) billion of the world’s youth and demanded the
following: abortion as a human right, sexual rights for children and a deletion of
parents’ rights. These things oppose the values of WYA. First and foremost,
WYA value and protect the right to life. The notion for abortion as human right
is a breach wicked deed to the unborn right to life. Deletion of parent’s rights
will only lead to destruction of the society since the fundamental unit of human
society is family. The World Youth Alliance is committed to building free and
just societies through a culture of life. That culture affirms the inalienable
dignity of the person, defends the intrinsic right to life, nurtures the family, and
fosters a social climate favorable to integral development, solidarity, and
mutual respect.
