6. ADJUSTMENT

[Preparation]
1) In the normal mode
Supply 14.4V to the BU and ACC lines via the unit connectors.
A
Press the Power button on the unit or on the remote control to start the normal mode.
Input the video signal to the VIDEO3 RCA terminal on the unit.
Select the VIDEO3 by switching the source.
When the video signal of 2Vp-p (via 75ohms, white 100%) is applied, the
video signal waveform of 1Vp-p will be obtained at the test point AUX3V0 as shown on the
adjustment item 2.1.
After completing the preparation, follow each adjustment method.

2) In the TEST mode

Shift the probe land EPRTST to "L" on the Mother PCB.
Supply 14.4V to the BU and ACC lines via the unit connectors.
Press the Power button on the unit or on the remote control to start the EPROM TEST mode.
Input the video signal to the VIDEO3 RCA terminal on the unit.
When the video signal of 2Vp-p (via 75ohms) is applied, the video signal
waveform of 1Vp-p will be obtained at the test point AUX3V0 as shown on the adjustment item 2.1.
After completing the preparation, follow each adjustment method.

6.4 EEPROM SETTING MODE

[Preparation]
The operation is possible only with the remote control (CXB9056) supplied with the AVR-W6100,
which uses remote control codes for the rear monitor.
Any key inputs from the main unit are not acceptable.
A
[Operations]
To enter the setting mode, while keeping the EPRTEST terminal
(probe land EPRTSTA) at "Low", turn on the power.
To switch between the adjustment modes, use the MENU button.

[ ←→ ] button: Used to adjust the selected item

Notes:
1) The setting values are written in the EEPROM,and then the read-out data is displayed
on the screen. WRITE and READ operations are processed by the block data of 16 bits.
The total bits for the settings depend on adjusting items.
2) For CS (Check Sum) items, when the settings are changed, the CS value is written in
B 8 bits by applying the exclusive OR (XOR). The CS value is first written in the EEPROM,
and then the read-out data is displayed. If the written data is different from the read-out data,
the letter color for the read-out data is changed.

1) CONTRAST data
The CONTRAST data is adjustable, and used as reference data for other adjustment items,
which is not memorized in the EEPROM.
2) BRIGHT and COM AMP data C
The BRIGHT and COM AMP adjustments are made by using the same 2-screen IC register
(SA22h B7-2: common reverse output amplitude).
Therefore, adjusting one of the data will change the other one.

Wide Modes Available

A
FULL
Video with an aspect ratio of 4:3
enlarges only horizontally. Enjoy
viewing video widened without
missing parts.

JUST
Video appears more extended hor-
izontally as it gets closer to both
edges of the screen. Because video
appears in about the same size as
regular video around the middle of
the screen, enjoy viewing it with-
out feeling out of place.

CINEMA
Video enlarges vertically with an
aspect ratio falling between FULL
B and ZOOM. This wide mode is
suited for horizontally long video,
such as movies, in which titles are
displayed in black areas outside
the video.

ZOOM
Video with an aspect ratio of 4:3
enlarges with the same aspect ratio
in both vertical and horizontal
directions. This wide mode is suit-
ed for horizontally long video,
such as movies, in which titles
overlap the video.

NORMAL
Video with an aspect ratio of 4:3
C appears without enlarging. Enjoy
viewing TV in the same video as it
is broadcast.

Note:
• Video will appear roughened when viewed in CINEMA or ZOOM mode (When PAL video is dis-
played).
