THE 220KV CIRCUIT BREAKER CONSISTS OF : -

A) THREE NUMBERS OF BREAKER POLES


B) COMMON CONTROL CUBICLE
C) A PNEUMATIC UNIT (COMPRESSES AIR
SUPPLY PLANT)
PLENMATIC UNIT CONSISTS OF A COMPRESSOR
TO SUPPLY COMPRESSED AIR AND COMPRESSED AIR
AND TWO RECEIVER (EACH 300 LITRES) TO STORE
COMPRESSED AIR AND DISTRIBUTE RANGE
PIPILINES TO ACTUATORS.

COMMON CONTROL CUBICLE IS INSTALLED


SEPARATELY NEAR THE MIDDLE i.e. YØ POLE. IT
CONSISTS OF THE MONITORING DIVISION
(PNEUMATIC SYSTEM PRESSURE GAGE, PRESSURE
SWITCH, LOCAL CLOSE AND TRIP SWITCHES.
BREAKER POLE CONSISTS OF: -

a) SUPPORT FRAME: TO SUPPORT CB POLE.

b) POLE COLUMN: CONSISTS OF FIXED AND


MOVING CONTACTS AND IS FILLED WITH sf6 GAS.
A DENSITY MONITOR IS ATTACHED WITH EACH
POLE. THE DENSITY MONITORS ARE BASICLLY
TEMPERATURE COMPENSATED PRESSURE
MONITORS.

INDIVIDUAL POLE COLUMN COMPRISES THE


FOLLOWING MAJOR ASSEMBLIES:

1. POLE COLUMN.
2. EXTINCTION CHAMBER.
3. EARTH ISOLATOR.
4. LINEAR MOVEMENT SEAL.
1. POLE COLUMN: THE ENTIRE ASSEMBLY IS
CALLED A POLE COLUMN

2. EXTINCTION CHAMBER: EXTINCTION CHAMBER


IS BASED ON COMPRESSION PISTON PRINCIPLE
(SINGLE PRESSURE PUFFER TYPE ACTUATOR)
