Najib arrives at JSJK to have statement

KUALA LUMPUR: Former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak arrived at Bukit Aman’s
Commercial Crimes Investigation Department (JSJK) at Menara KPJ, Jalan Tun Razak here
at 9.20am today to have his statement recorded.

He arrived in a black Toyota Alphard which left the Malaysian Anti-Corruption


Commission’s (MACC) headquarters in Putrajaya at 8.55am.

The Pekan MP will also be brought to the Kuala Lumpur sessions court at about 3pm to be
charged.

Najib was arrested at 4.13pm at the MACC headquarters yesterday.

He is being investigated under the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and


Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act (AMLATFPUAA) 2001.

In a statement, the MACC said that Najib’s arrest is related to a case involving 1Malaysia
Development Bhd (1MDB) and RM2.6 billion deposited into his personal account.

Najib is also expected to face several other charges under Section 23(1) of the MACC Act
2009.
