 Tabitha and her best friend, Nora went jogging at the park last Saturday

morning. As they jogged, they smiled and waved at many people along the way.

Many people were doing their exercise there.

Suddenly, there was a loud crash. Tabitha and Nora halted immediately.

They turned to see where the sound came from. Then, they saw a motorcycle

speeding off. It was a hit-and-run accident. Not far from where they were, a little

boy was lying on the ground. He was unconscious and bleeding.

Once upon a time in China, there lived a girl called Ming Huei. She was a
very unusual girl.
All the girls in her village were happy with themselves and their work but
not for Ming Huei. They liked to sit at home and sew or comb their long lovely
hair. Ming Huei disliked doing all that. Instead, she longed to go to school.
In those days, girls were not allowed to attend school but Ming Huei could
not stop thinking of school and the thought made her restless. Finally, she thought
of an idea and disguised herself as a boy. She enrolled herself in a school and
studied with the boys for several years.
In her final year examinations, she became the best student in her school.
She was overjoyed. She revealed her true identity to her school authority and
everyone was surprised that a girl could do so well in school. So, from that
moment on, schools in China were opened to girls too.
