Confidential Peer assessment Form

Title of the project :

Group number :

Student ID :

Notes
- Assign scores that reflect how you really feel about the extent to which each person contributed
to the team’s performance. Contributions are not only technical work, but also team organization,
information research, and report writing
- These scores directly affect the individual mark that you and your group members get for the
project
- This form is confidential between you and your lecturer. You shouldn’t show it to the other team
members or include it in your final report.

Instructons
1. list the name of each team member
2. evaluate each person’s contribution by distributing 100 points among them, e.g for a four-person
group with everyone contributing equally, give 25 points to each person.
3. please include a justification or comment for each person. This is essential if you give unequal scores

How the peer assessment score is used

Your team report receives a group mark. Each team member’s individual mark is calculated by multiplying
the group mark by the peer assessment factor, PAF:

𝑠𝑢𝑚 𝑜𝑓 𝑠𝑐𝑜𝑟𝑒𝑠 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝑎 𝑚𝑒𝑚𝑏𝑒𝑟

𝑃𝐴𝐹 = 𝑠𝑡𝑑𝑓𝑎𝑐𝑡𝑜𝑟 ∗ ( ) + (𝐽𝑆 𝑓𝑎𝑐𝑡𝑜𝑟 ∗ 𝐽𝑆 𝑠𝑐𝑜𝑟𝑒 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑚𝑒𝑚𝑏𝑒𝑟 )
𝑠𝑢𝑚 𝑜𝑓 𝑡𝑒𝑎𝑚 𝑚𝑒𝑚𝑏𝑒𝑟𝑠

Student factor may vary from 30% to 60% whilst lecture factor may vary from 40% to 70% depends on
disparity of peer assessment scores. The lecturing staff reserves the right to alter individual marks in
case of this disparity scores.

Example PAF calculation

Five people work on the project and the group report mark is 70%
Both student factor and lecture factor use are 50%

The scores from confidential peer assessment form for each group member are collated, so the PAFs
and individual marks are calculated:

Please note that the effect of PAF will apply to individual mark directly.
