Its artisans have great ability to make gold and silver jewelry in filigree (very fine threads), those that artistically adorn necklaces and rings, and make any type of object that is requested. They also emphasize their tissues of straw scarf, famous for its quality, finesse and delicacy; for its craftsmanship in hard wood (hualtaco), which astonishes for its beauty, perfection and design.
Something very characteristic of Catacaos, is the innate ability
of its artisans who do wonders of gold and silver, as well as straw, wood, leather, mud and garments coveted by the hundreds of national and foreign tourists who come to these sunny lands. The wood works made by the Piura residents of Catacaos are made with zapote wood.
