 STANDING UP TO PERSECUTION

As I was saying on page one. We were able to have a Christian concert in the women's prison and
experience the Holy Spirit working. We saw eight women except Christ in front of many other women. The
women are in this prison for prostitution, drug running, murder and more. Some of these women are hard
core so it took the Holy Spirit to empower these women to raise their hands. Since the concert these
women have been very faithful in attending the Bible study. Jennifer told me the other day that the
women are being given a hard time from the other prisoners. They’ve been told that they think their
better than everyone else because they’re Christians and have Bibles. Even though they’re facing
persecution they are standing strong and are being examples to the same ones that are trying to make
their life difficult.

Matthew 10:22 You will be hated by everyone because of me, but the one
who stands firm to the end will be saved.

How often have we not said something or stood up because we’re afraid of standing out and being
persecuted in some way. Scripture is clear that we will be persecuted and we are to stand firm. Times
change and cultures change but scripture does not.

John 16:33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you
will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

These women know the peace that comes with having Christ in control. They know their reward is
not of this world. Please take the time and say a prayer for these women and their safety.
