h. If a solid is cut by a cutting plane parallel to the base of the solid and the top [1]
part is removed, the remaining part is called _____________.
i. If a sectional plane parallel to HP the true shape of the sectioned surface is [1]
seen in front view. State True/ False
j. If the axis of solid is perpendicular to V.P the true height of the solid is seen [1]
in ______ view.

required, by right clicking & click Insert & Insert Rows Below)
2. a. A point P is in the first quadrant. Its shortest distance from the intersection point of [6]
H.P., V.P and auxiliary plane, perpendicular to the H.P and V.P is 70 mm and it is
equidistance from principal planes. Draw the projections of the point and determine
its distance from the H.P and V.P.
b. Two points A and B are in the H.P. The point A is 30mm in front of the V.P., while B [6]
is behind the V.P. The distance between their projectors is 75mm and the line
joining their top views makes an angle 45 0 with xy. Find the distance of the point B
from the V.P.
(OR)
c. A vertical line AB, 75mm long, has its end A in the H.P. and 25mm in front of V.P. A [6]
line AC, 100mm long, is in the H.P. and parallels to the V.P. Draw the projections of
line joining B and C and determines its inclination with the H.P.
d. The top view of a line, inclined at 30 0 to H.P. is 65mm long. Draw the projections of [6]
the line, when it is parallel to and 40mm in front of the V.P., it’s one end being
30mm above the H.P.

required, by right clicking & click Insert & Insert Rows Below)
3. a. The front view of a line makes an angle of 30 0 with xy. The H.T. of the line is 45mm [12]
in front of the V.P., while its V.T. is 30mm below the H.P. one end of the line 10mm
above the H.P. and other the end is 10mm in front of the V.P. Draw the projections of
the line and determine its inclinations with H.P. and V.P.
(OR)
b. A regular pentagon of 30 mm sides is resting on one of its side making an [12]
angle 300 with V.P. Draw projections of pentagon when the surface is
inclined 450 to H.P.
Q.No. 4: Questions covering contents of UNIT-III of the syllabus. (Additional row can be inserted to include third bit, if
required, by right clicking & click Insert & Insert Rows Below)
4. a. A regular pentagonal pyramid, base 30 mm side and height 80 mm rests on [12]
one edge of its base on the ground so that the highest point in the base is 30
mm above the ground. Draw its projection when the axis is parallel to the
V.P.
(OR)
b. A cube of 70 mm long edges has its vertical faces equally inclined to the V.P. [12]
It is cut by an AIP in such a way that the true shape of the cut part is a
regular hexagon. Determine the inclination of the cutting plane with the H.P.
Draw font view, sectional top view and true shape of the section.
