A Note from the office:

We’ve had a wonderful start to this new year! Although there has been many
Tues.: Sept. 11 Parent Club 9am transitions to the start of the year here at Park our staff and students have been
remarkable at digging right into learning! It is our pleasure to introduce to you
several new staff members to our Park Staff Family as pictured below.
Fri.. Sept. 14 Early Release
Also, M-Step Parent Reports for 4th & 5th Grade parents are coming home next
Fri. Sept. 21 Color Run 4:30PM
 Last spring our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students took the M-Step state test.  Parents
Mon. Sept. 24 5th Grade Can of 4th and 5th grade parents we will be sending these reports home in your child’s
Drive Begins backpack tonight. The information contained in this letter will give you a snapshot of
how your child performed on the test in his/her previous grade.

Please remember that these scores do not solely define your child’s academic ability
Fri. Sept. 28/29 HHS and that we closely monitor their regular academic progress through our common
Homecoming assessments and report card standards. Our staff is extremely proud of the effort and
time commitment our students put forth during those testing weeks. As a district,
Wed. Oct. 3 COUNT DAY and as a building, our staff will use this information to determine our curricular
areas of strength and areas of focus.  Please feel free to contact your child’s teacher

Starting Monday, Sept. 24-28, Park School will be having a Can/Bottle Drive. All of the proceeds
raised will go to help reduce the cost of 5th grade camp. The winning K-4 class will have a fun filled
hour with the winning 5th grade class. The actual activity/prize will be announced at a later date. Don’t
forget to bring in your bottles and cans to school to help your class win and to help out our 5th

Help us Color the Park!

Friday, September 21st - Color the Park Walk/Run begins at 6pm

Pre-party and food beginning at 4:30pm at Hughes Park
The course is 1.5 miles through Hughes Park and Park elementary with fun color powder stations throughout!
COST - $8.00 per person for Park Elementary families if registered by Sept 7th by midnight
Registrations after the 7th are same day at event only $15.00 per person
This cost includes an event t-shirt. Shirt sizes are not guaranteed for event day registrations.
Pledge Forms/Money are due Friday September 14. (We can accept these late)
Event packets with t-shirts and prizes will be available for pick up at Park Elementary on September
19th from 4pm-7pm or parents may pick them up at event.

Hudsonville Robotics is transitioning to an online application for students interested in the robotics program.  We still have a form
available if a family prefers not to use the online service. All of the information is available at this link:

Septemberfest Arts and Crafts Show will be held again this year on Saturday, September 15 from 9am – 3pm at
the Hudsonville Fairgrounds. Admission is $2 for adults and kids 12 and under are free. Come shop over 150
vendors and plan to stay for lunch. All proceeds benefit Hudsonville Christian School. Please visit Facebook for
