Are there any differences between Malaysian Malays and Singaporean Malays?

Ady Romantika, Born and raised in Malaysia

Updated Apr 29, 2017

I'm born and raised in Malaysia. Half Malay half Chinese, but raised as a Malay. My aunt lives
in Singapore so I have cousins there.

Main difference is that the majority of Malays in Malaysia are more pampered and lazy. We
don't have to struggle a lot to compete with other non native ethnics. Little pressure exists to
work harder to improve knowledge and quality of life. The privilege for Malays in the country
helps in improving quality of life. Alas, in the long run I fear it's causing over dependency and
doesn't help in this new age and the future.

In Singapore, even those who are in the lower income class are knowledgeable, intelligent, and
hard working...

This may be a controversial answer but remember that I am generally categorized as a Malaysian
Malay so I feel a little bit sad with the reality.
