Zainal Abidin Osman passed away on Monday morning after losing his battle with cancer (multiple myeloma). He was 58. He breathed his last at 2.07am in Ampang Hospital, Kuala Lumpur. His remains will be buried at Sungai Acheh Muslim cemetery late Monday afternoon. Zainal was an Umno Supreme Council member from 2009 to 2011 and was Nibong Tebal MP from 2004 to 2008. He also served as Penang Umno state chief. Zainal Abidin lost his first wife, Datin Shazarina Shamsuddin, to cancer in 2010 and in 2012, he wedded TV sensation Datin Nur Syafiqa Amirol Melvin, who was 23 at the time. He is survived by Nur Syafiqa and six children.
