INTRODUCTION
EASY BARRIER is the outcome of consolidated studies of ergonomics and mechanics
carried out by the DELLA CASA RETI S.R.L. CON UNICO SOCIO.
During both design and construction, DELLA CASA RETI S.R.L. CON UNICO SOCIO
has concentrated a large number of high-tech features in EASY BARRIER, while bearing
in mind the requirements the product is intended to meet. To this end, the design has
undergone repeated checks to ensure that it is extremely safe and simple to install, use
and maintain.
The EASY BARRIER spacing barrier is a modular system for delimiting dangerous zones;
in particular, before its installation, according to the technical standard UNI EN ISO 13857,
the Client is requested to define the profile of the zone to be delimited, as well as the
residual risks, if present, within the zone to be protected.
Provided the manufacturer’s instructions are complied with, it has been designed and
constructed to:
- operate;
- undergo routine maintenance by the operator and extraordinary maintenance by a
skilled serviceman;
- be installed;
so as to prevent or reduce the free access to dangerous zones located and defined by the
client; no operator is permanently occupied for this purpose.
Its technical and conceptual characteristics allow it to be adapted easily to the shape of the
zone to be delimited, ensuring excellent functionality and mechanical strength (in relation
to its intended use).
To guarantee the technical features described above, the structure needs to be fixed:
- observing the assessment of the residual risks present in the zone to be protected
as well as the regulations of the technical standard UNI EN ISO 13857;
- to a perfectly levelled concrete floor without rough areas, holes or damp as well as
with a suitable load-bearing capacity;
- in accordance with the lay-out supplied by the customer company;
- in accordance with the fixing procedures described in this documentation.
The structure must be assembled and fixed by staff chosen and designated by the
customer company, following the instructions provided in this Use and Maintenance
Manual. This staff must be used to working with delicate and complex materials.
Remember that this spacing barrier allows only the specifically trained staff, authorized by
the customer company, to enter a protected and potentially dangerous area.
Naturally, the customer company is responsible for ensuring that this staff are suitably
trained and supplied with the necessary PPE, and meet the technical requirements for
safe access to the potentially dangerous area concerned.
The material with which the EASY BARRIER spacing barrier may come into contact
cannot be defined as a hazardous product, therefore the structure is not suitable for
contact with materials classified as hazardous, toxic, corrosive, irritating, etc

The structure is also unsuitable for installation in premises containing or used by animals.
EASY BARRIER's design and construction characteristics are as follows:
a) fixed securely to the (concrete) floor using suitable expansion plugs;
b) easy to install;
c) easy to adapt to the shape of the area to be protected;
d) possibility of fitting the access gates with safety micro-switches fitted with interlock,
which ensure safe access to the potentially dangerous protected areas (optional); e)
possibility of fitting the gates with automatic opening devices (optional);
e) possibility of fitting the gates with automatic opening devices (optional);
f) possibility of fitting the gates with closing devices suitable for the plant
dangerousness (optional).
The customer may request optional safety devices to be applied to the access gate
structure (see the above indicated points d, e and f);
However, with regard to installation, the relative lay-out and the EC declarations of
conformity of the various components installed on EASY BARRIER (safety micro-switches
fitted on the gates giving access to the protected area, etc.), reference must be made to
the specific documentation issued by the respective devices manufacturers, and the
documentation issued by the installation engineer appointed by the customer company on
completion of his work..
Note that the electrical systems of the devices, if requested, must be connected by
technical staff, who are chosen and authorized by the customer company and who meet
all legal requirements.
Remember that, on completion of the installation work, the installation engineer must
issue, to the customer company, a copy of the declaration of conformity relating to the
work actually done, as well as a copy of his Chamber of Commerce registration certificate
and a certification that he is legally qualified.

CONSULTING AND KEEPING
The present Use and Maintenance Manual is a document drawn up by DELLA CASA
RETI s.r.l. CON UNICO SOCIO and referring to the installation, safe use and operation
(maintenance) of EASY BARRIER.
In this respect, this documentation, complete with the use and maintenance manuals
provided by the suppliers of the system’s individual parts, forms an integral part of the
spacing barrier itself.
In its entirety, the above documentation is intended to enable the users of EASY
BARRIER to operate safely, and thus to establish clear use procedures; therefore, the
above documentation must be carefully read and understood by the users.
It is pointed out that the instructions provided in the use and maintenance manuals are
intended to protect the users’ safety and health, and therefore, all users must meticulously
read, understand and apply all the instructions/procedures contained therein. The
observance of these instructions allows the safe use of the present machine, as well as
appropriate maintenance operations.
As already stated, the declaration of conformity and all the use and maintenance manuals
relating to EASY BARRIER constitute an integral part of the spacing barrier under
discussion, and thus this documentation must accompany it in the event that it is sold on to
other users.
This documentation must be conserved with care until the barrier is finally dismantled, and
must be made available to the staff authorized to use it.
As best practice, do not damage the manuals and keep them in a correct way: do not tear
out pages, do not dirty them or stain with grease, never expose them to heat sources, and
always keep the pages in the correct order.
This documentation and the relative annexes must also be available to the staff authorized
to work on EASY BARRIER, so that they can refer to it easily to clear up any doubts about
the system’s safe operation and/or its use or maintenance procedures.
The contents of the technical manuals reflect the state of the art at the time of construction
of the machine under discussion.
The technical manuals shall not be considered inadequate further to technological
improvements to EASY BARRIER.
The technical documentation and the relative annexes are completely confidential:
therefore even partial reproduction thereof is absolutely forbidden, and all its copy rights
are reserved.

Conserving the manual

The technical manuals referring to EASY BARRIER are an integral part of the spacing barrier
itself.
The whole above mentioned technical documentation must therefore accompany the
present partly completed machine even if it is sold.
To allow the correct management of safety during the use and maintenance of the spacing
barrier, the whole technical documentation referring to EASY BARRIER must also
accompany the present machine even if it is sold.
WARNING
The technical manuals containing the instructions/procedures relating to the safe use
and maintenance of EASY BARRIER must always be kept in the vicinity of the spacing
barrier itself, in an easily accessible place. It must be possible for the operator
responsible for the machine operation and serviceman to access the above mentioned
DANGER documentation and consult it quickly at any time
All the technical documentation referring to EASY BARRIER must be kept in an easily
accessible place to allow its fast consultation. The staff assigned to use and maintain this
spacing barrier must be informed about the place where the documentation is kept.

INTENDED USE
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The present Use and Maintenance Manual refers to EASY BARRIER, whose schematic
structural drawings are enclosed to the present manual.
Spacing barriers whose structural drawings differ from the enclosures, cannot be in any
way related to EASY BARRIER.
INTENDED USE
The spacing barrier, called EASY BARRIER whose function is perimeter fencing, is a
modular system designed and constructed to delimit dangerous areas, preventing or
limiting the free access thereto. Before its installation, according to the technical standard
UNI EN ISO 13857, the Client is requested to define the profile of the area to be delimited,
as well as to assess the residual risks, if present, within the area to be protected.
The technical - conceptual characteristics of EASY BARRIER allow it to be adapted easily

to the shape of the area to be delimited, ensuring excellent functionality and mechanical
strength (in relation to its intended use).
In detail, the spacing barrier, called EASY BARRIER whose function is perimeter fencing,
normally consists of:
- modular panels:
o of iron or stainless steel welded mesh with ribs (mesh grid 40 x 40 x 4 mm);
o of sheet metal;
- “sKatto” fixing plates having inner profile for screws captivity;
- modular gates:
o of sheet metal with or without window;
- safety micro-switches (on request);
- automatic gate opening devices (on request).
The design and construction characteristics of the spacing barrier called EASY BARRIER
can be summarized as follows:
 easy to install on compacted concrete floor by means of suitable expansion plugs;
 easy to adapt to the shape of the area to be protected;
 possibility of fitting the access gates with safety micro-switches having safety
interlock;
 possibility of fitting the gates with automatic opening devices;
 possibility of fitting the gates with closing devices suitable for the plant
dangerousness.

The spacing barrier called EASY BARRIER has NOT been designed and constructed to
provide mechanical protection against risks such as explosions, flying objects or fluids, etc.
Any use of the spacing barrier called EASY BARRIER other than that described above
should be avoided.
WARNING
The spacing barrier called EASY BARRIER has been designed and constructed to act as
a modular system for delimiting dangerous areas, preventing or limiting the free access
thereto.
The spacing barrier must absolutely not be used to:
- contain the removed parts (damaged tools, workpieces, etc.);
- protect from the risk of exposure to dangerous radiation;
- restrain or dissipate the energy emitted by an explosion;

material, melted or cold, powder, etc.);

CHAPTER 1 – SPECIFICATIONS OF THE MACHINE
1.1 EXPECTED LIFESPAN

In view of the high quality of the materials and the construction technology used, provided
that the instructions supplied in this manual be strictly complied with (with reference in
particular to the chapters about the installation, use and maintenance), the expected
lifespan of the described system is 24 months from the date of installation.
Note that during its expected lifespan, EASY BARRIER must not be assembled and/or
disassembled by unauthorized staff, and all instructions provided in this Use and
Maintenance Manual must be strictly complied with.
1.2 TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION

EASY BARRIER is a modular structure made up of the following elements:
 modular panels of steel mesh, stainless steel and steel plate;
 steel and stainless steel uprights;
 “sKatto” fixing plates having inner profile for screws captivity;
 gates in steel mesh, stainless steel, or steel plate, in standard sizes or custom-sized
to the customer’s requirements;
 gate closing systems;
 automatic gate opening devices (on request);
 safety micro-switches (on request).

Planning of the EASY BARRIER extension path is at the customer’s expense; in particular
DELLA CASA RETI S.R.L. CON UNICO SOCIO informs its clients that, before planning
the EASY BARRIER extension path and before its installation, it is necessary to assess
the residual risks, if present inside the area to be protected, as well as observe the
regulations of the technical standards (e.g. UNI EN ISO 13857) with regard to the safety
distances around a dangerous area. In particular, the customer is reminded that EASY
BARRIER is a spacing barrier and therefore it must NOT be placed close to dangerous
areas. It is possible to consult a summary of the technical characteristics of the technical
standard UNI EN ISO 13857 contained in the annexes to the present Document, which
MUST be taken into consideration with regard to the lay-out plan and the subsequent
installation of the anti-intrusion barrier.

Before designing and installation of EASY BARRIER, the customer must consider the
contents of the harmonized standards with regard to the safety distances around a
dangerous area (e.g. UNI EN ISO 13857) as well as assess the residual risks possibly
present within the area to be protected.

Customers may request optional safety devices to be applied to the access gate structure;
as far as the installation is concerned, the electrical connections diagrams and the EC
Declarations of Conformity of the safety micro-switches installed on EASY BARRIER,
reference must be made to the specific documentation issued by the relative devices
manufacturers and the documentation issued by the installation engineer appointed by the
customer company to mount and connect the device.
Schematical drawings concerning simple elements making up the EASY BARRIER can be
seen in the annexes at the end of the manual.
1.3 TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS

The technical characteristics of EASY BARRIER are indicated below:

The EASY BARRIER uprights and panels are protected from the corrosion and external
agents by the surface finish (powder painting).
Customers may request optional safety devices to be applied to the access gate structure;

BARRIER, reference must be made to the specific documentation issued by the relative

1.5 INDICATIONS OF SAFETY SYSTEMS

Due to design and functional choice, the spacing barrier EASY BARRIER is not provided
with safety devices capable of stopping it automatically; in particular, it is a modular
structure made up of simple elements which, if installed according to the contents of the
present Use and Maintenance Manual, form a perimeter fencing able to prevent or reduce
access to dangerous areas.
However, if specifically requested by the customer company, EASY BARRIER can be
equipped with safety micro-switches to be applied to the gates giving access to the protected
area, so as to cut out operation of the machine/plant present inside the protected area when
the gates are opened, thus triggering an emergency stop.
In particular, the installation engineer appointed by the customer company to make this
connection, and qualified for the task, has to design and make electrical connections so that it
will not be possible to continue working or activating any movement of the plant/equipment
present inside the protected area when the access gates are open.
Once the residual risks inside the protected area are known, the customer company will install
also emergency stop buttons inside and outside the protected area, in addition to specific
restarting control devices and pictograms about residual risks present inside the dangerous
area.
In any case, as far as the installation is concerned, the electrical connections diagrams
and the EC declarations of conformity of the safety micro-switches installed on EASY

appointed by the customer company to mount and connect the devices and controls.
Operation of EASY BARRIER after removal of the gates giving access to the protected area
and/or the safety micro-switches possibly present and connected thereto is absolutely
forbidden.
DANGER Damaged safety devices must be replaced immediately. Never deactivate the safety devices.
Never do any maintenance work yourself; always contact the customer company
maintenance service, either internal or external. Only they or the staff indicated by them, are
qualified to carry out maintenance procedures safely and with the necessary expertise .
Before doing any maintenance work inside the protected area, make sure that there are no
hazards and that the machine/plant in the area is in emergency stop status.
It is absolutely forbidden to perform maintenance or repair operations on EASY BARRIER

without first making sure that there are no persons and impediments/hazardous situations
inside the protected area

1.6 NOISE LEVEL

The noise level produced by EASY BARRIER when in use is as follows:

During the assembly, disassembly, routine and extraordinary maintenance and use of EASY
BARRIER, the following personal protection equipment must be worn.

It is also pointed out that other Personal Protection Equipment should be worn depending
on the residual risks, if present in the zone to be protected; in particular, such PPE must
be communicated by the Customer to the operators responsible for assembly,
disassembly, use and maintenance (routine and/or extraordinary) of EASY BARRIER.
It is absolutely forbidden to perform any operation on EASY BARRIER without wearing

the specified PPE.
DANGER
The Personal Protection Equipment specified by the present manual are considered
compulsory for use of EASY BARRIER. It is to be reminded that any operation within the
protected zone must be performed wearing the PPE specified and indicated during the
assessment of the residual risks made by the Customer.

1.8 TRAINING INSTRUCTIONS

EASY BARRIER is constructed to allow simple installation and easy use directly by
technical staff; therefore no periods of training in the use of this structure are envisaged,
but before any activity the user must:
 read this manual carefully, paying special attention to the parts relating to the
installation and use of EASY BARRIER;
 oversee the routine maintenance operations.
It is noted that the customer or the manufacturer of a group of machines who will perform
the assembly of EASY BARRIER and an already existing machine/plant, will have to
consider the necessity to organize a training course and operating instruction for the staff
who use the assembled machine, on the basis of risks (also residual risks if present in the
protected zone) assessed by the customer/manufacturer with regard to the whole
machine.
Children, persons in altered psychophysical state (under the influence of drugs, alcohol,
etc.), people with bypass or suffering from heart problems, persons who are not trained
properly or who lack suitable expertise are not allowed as operators.
DANGER
The customer or the manufacturer of an assembly of machines who will perform the
assembly of EASY BARRIER and an already existing machine/plant, will have to consider
the necessity to organize a training course and operating instruction for the staff who use
the assembled machine on the basis of risks (also residual risks if present in the protected
WARNING zone) assessed by the customer/manufacturer with regard to the whole assembled
machine.

CHAPTER 2 - TRANSPORT
In order to guarantee the safety of the staff involved and taking into consideration its
specific features, EASY BARRIER, may be handled only by staff accustomed to dealing
with delicate materials and using particular lifting equipment.
For such reasons, only people with these characteristics are capable of recognizing and
preventing hazards for third parties and/or the material being handled.
To allow trouble-free handling with the aid of a fork-lift truck, EASY BARRIER is supplied
dismantled and packaged in special packs placed on pallets. The weight of a package
containing the standard version of EASY BARRIER is about 700 Kg; therefore, handling
must be made by a fork-lift truck having suitable load bearing capacity.
The drawings of the individual component elements of EASY BARRIER are provided in
the annexes to the manual.
Take great care during handling and transport of the single packages of EASY BARRIER.
In particular, comply strictly with the instructions concerning correct weight distribution.

The packages containing unassembled and wrapped parts of EASY BARRIER must be
handled only with a fork-lift truck with suitable load bearing capacity.
ATTENTION
2.1 PARTS TO BE TRANSPORTED SEPARATELY

As already explained before, during its handling EASY BARRIER is disassembled in
simple parts put inside special packages placed on pallets.
To allow safe transportation of EASY BARRIER, the customer company must use a
vehicle with enough space and load bearing capacity to carry packages in which EASY
BARRIER is wrapped, and with a flat, level bed with no uneven areas; in particular, it is
necessary to take care of positioning and securing the packages in a stable and safe way,
so as to avoid possible damages caused by the load instability during the transport.
The driver of the transport means used for the delivery of EASY CARRIER must be legally
qualified.
The drawings of the individual parts with their overall dimensions are provided in the
annexes at the back of the manual.
It is noted that for loading/unloading as well as handling of the packages it is necessary to
use a fork-lift truck with load bearing capacity suitable for the mass to be lifted and
handled; in particular, the fork-lift truck driver must be suitably trained in safe driving fork-
lift trucks.

Handling EASY BARRIER with a fork-lift truck WITHOUT suitable load bearing capacity
and/or driven by a NOT suitably trained driver is absolutely forbidden.

2.2 DELIVERY AND HANDLING

Before the delivery, all the components of EASY BARRIER are thoroughly inspected by
DELLA CASA RETI S.R.L. CON UNICO SOCIO.
On receipt of the spacing barrier components, check if they have not been damaged
during the transport or if any packaging has not been forced and parts have not been
removed therefrom; if damaged or missing parts are found, notify the carrier and DELLA
CASA RETI S.R.L. CON UNICO SOCIO immediately, providing photographic
documentation.
The packages may be handled only by means of a fork-lift truck with suitable load bearing
capacity, made available by the customer company and driven by staff of its choice,
capable of carrying out all the operations in safety conditions. Moreover, these staff must
also be used to handling delicate, high-tech loads, so as to be able to recognize and
exclude dangers to transported persons and/or material.
Handling EASY BARRIER with a fork-lift truck WITHOUT suitable load bearing capacity
and/or driven by a NOT suitably trained driver is absolutely forbidden.

The packages containing dismantled parts of EASY BARRIER must be handled only with
a fork-lift truck with suitable load bearing capacity.
ATTENTION
Unload the material with lifting equipment having suitable load bearing capacity and act as
indicated below:
 Keeping the forks of the fork-lift truck as far apart as possible, insert them
underneath the package, making sure that the centre line of the truck is aligned with
the centre line of the pallet.
 Slowly lift EASY BARRIER about 50 millimeters, checking that it is parallel to the
bed of the truck.
 Draw back slowly but constantly until the entire package has been removed beyond
the bed of the truck.
 Lower immediately (very slowly and avoiding sharp stops during descent) until the
forks of the fork-lift truck are 50 millimeters above the ground.
 Move the package into its storing position, proceeding very slowly and carefully.

Once the packages have been handled, they must be placed close to the area where
EASY BARRIER is to be installed, in order to reduce the risks arising from the handling of
heavy items by hand.
Once withdrawn from their package, the components of EASY BARRIER can be handled
by hand; in particular, manual handling of specific elements of the spacing barrier, such as
access gates, must be performed by at least two operators.
Proceed with extreme attention during lifting and transport of EASY BARRIER to
prevent injury or damage to persons or objects, complying with what is mentioned
above.

2.3 STORAGE BEFORE USE

EASY BARRIER is designed for immediate use, but if special circumstances arise which
lead to the machine being stored for long periods of time, proceed as follows:
 store the structure in a dry place;
 maintain the ambient temperature of > + 5° < + 35°;

 cover the metal structure with a breathable sheet, paying special attention to the
joints;
 deposit the elements of the structure on suitable shelves (as for capacity load and
dimensions), so as to avoid risks caused by their overturning (e.g. shelves that do
not bear the load);
 disconnect the electrical components of EASY BARRIER from the electrical mains
(if the safety micro-switches are installed);
 do not place heavy items on EASY BARRIER.

To maintain EASY BARRIER's characteristics unchanged, all the above requirements

must be complied with.
ATTENTION
It is advised to avoid particularly damp locations: this will prevent problems caused
by the corrosion or wear of the surface treatment (powder coating) as well as
malfunctions of possible electrical elements (if safety micro-switches are present).

CHAPTER 3 - INSTALLATION
Before doing any work on EASY BARRIER, read and understand all parts of this manual.
The staff employed in the assembly/installation operations must be familiar with this type
of metal structure and have recognized technical skills acquired over at least three years
of work of this kind; such experience is essential to limit and reduce the risks involved in
the assembly/installation activities.
Good knowledge of EASY BARRIER's systems and components is of fundamental
importance before proceeding with any operation.
If carried out incorrectly and/or not in accordance with the instructions provided
below, the assembly and disassembly of EASY BARRIER, may be extremely dangerous
and cause injuries.

operations; it is also compulsory for the operators responsible for installation of EASY
BARRIER to wear the following Personal Protection Equipment.

3.1 INTENDED DESTINATION AND USE ENVIRONMENTS
EASY BARRIER must be installed only in indoor working environments with the
characteristics specified in this manual; the floor must be made of compact concrete
perfectly flat with no roughness or holes and humidity, and must have load bearing
capacity, suitable for the loads to be carried.
EASY BARRIER performs its best when used in working environments which satisfy the
following conditions:
 Relative humidity below 50%;
 Ambient temperature between + 5° and + 35°.
3.1.1 LIGHTING
The lighting system of the factory building is important for people’s safety and the quality of
work. In Italy this subject is regulated by a Ministerial Decree which clearly sets the
average level of lighting required. In other countries, the Prevention of Occupational
Accidents and Occupational Health regulation in force shall apply.
These regulations establish the responsibilities of the person in charge of the working
environment, who must ensure that the plants and thus the machinery are in good working
order.
Illumination produced by a flow of light of one lm evenly distributed over a surface of one
square meter area (one lux = one lm/m²). Essential minimum lighting: sufficient to allow
correct identification of symbols and markings (from 300 to 500 lux).
Maximum lighting: low enough not to dazzle the operator.
3.2 PRELIMINARY CHECKS
Before installation, read carefully all the contents of this manual and ensure that you
have understood them.

It is recalled that operating and maintenance staff must have specific skills as required by
this manual, and physical and mental prerequisites for operation on the machine.
All the operations on EASY BARRIER must be carried out only by skilled staff.

For a correct installation of EASY BARRIER the Customer must plan its extension. In
particular, DELLA CASA RETI S.R.L. CON UNICO SOCIO informs its clients that, in order
to plan the EASY BARRIER extension, it is necessary to:

- Assess the risks, pointing out residual risks, if present inside the area to be protected,
or nearby.
- Observe the regulations of the technical standards UNI EN ISO 13857 with regard to
the safety distance around a dangerous area. It is reminded that EASY BARRIER is
spacing barrier designed and constructed to delimit dangerous areas, preventing or
limiting the free access thereto; in this respect EASY BARRIER CANNOT be placed
close to dangerous areas or at a distance smaller than the indications of UNI EN ISO
13857. It is possible to consult a summary of the technical characteristics of the
technical standard UNI EN ISO 13857 contained in the annexes to the present
document, which MUST be taken into consideration with regard to the lay-out plan and
the subsequent installation of the anti-intrusion barrier.
Before designing and installation of EASY BARRIER, the customer must consider the
contents of the harmonized standards with regard to the safety distances around a
dangerous area (e.g. UNI EN ISO 13857) as well as assess the residual risks possibly
present within the area to be protected.

Manual is not a sufficient qualification for designing the EASY BARRIER lay-out. The

- As provided by the Machinery Directive (2006/42/CE) in force, check if the EC marking

- Make sure that the planned positioning of the access gates to the dangerous areas
guarantees the absence of persons in the dangerous area.
- The customer or the installation engineer of EASY BARRIER and/or the producer of
an assembly of machines who will perform the possible assembly of EASY BARRIER
and an already existing machine/plant, has to consider, on the basis of the risks
assessment (also of the residual risks if present in the protected area), the necessity to
complete EASY BARRIER with optional safety devices (safety micro-switches),
produced by a third party, to be applied to the structures of the access gates, besides
pictograms for pointing out residual risks. If safety devices are to be installed, it is
necessary to take into consideration the technical documentation issued by the
relative manufacturers to check their minimum distance from possible sources

of electromagnetic emissions; such distance must be respected in order to
prevent undesired interference and/or operation.
Before installing EASY BARRIER check the minimum distance required from possible
sources of electromagnetic emissions to prevent undesired interference and/or
operation of the possibly installed electrical safety devices.
ATTENTION
- Make sure that the bearing plane where EASY BARRIER will be installed is:
o of compact concrete;
o perfectly levelled;
o without holes, irregularities or damp;
o having a load bearing capacity suitable for the load to be carried; in particular,
the weight of the structure in its basic configuration (contained in one package)
is about 700 kg; therefore, the concrete floor should be carefully selected,
considering not only the load bearing capacity of the individual elements, but also
the mass of the metal structure as a whole.
Once the spacing barrier extension has been defined, for a correct and simple installation
of EASY BARRIER, DELLA CASA RETI S.R.L. CON UNICO SOCIO suggests the
customer company should determine the position in which various components of the
present perimeter fencing system must be installed, before their handling and
positioning, taking into consideration necessary space occupied by the material being
worked as well as the minimum surface necessary for each operator (about 2 square
meters). It is possible to examine the dimensions of the single elements in the annexes
present at the end of the manual.
When deciding the EASY BARRIER installation place, bear in mind that the structure is
made up of a variable number of elements, in accordance with the required lay-out; in
particular, the various elements need enough space clear of impediments to allow their
installation.
3.3 INSTALLATION
EASY BARRIER must be installed and assembled only by qualified technical staff
authorized by the customer company.
These staff, who must be accustomed to installing high-tech metal structures, will
connect the individual components together, fix them to the floor, level them and position
them in accordance with the customer company’s requirements and as shown in the
design lay-out. This position must be maintained during the use of EASY BARRIER.

Using of EASY BARRIER in conditions of instability may cause hazard.

The EASY BARRIER spacing barrier is supplied to the customer complete with the
special accessories needed for its safe installation and use.
For its assembling, the spacing barrier requires the following tools:
- one 13 mm spanner for fixing the “sKatto” fixing plates to the structure uprights;
- one 10 mm drill bit for making fixing holes for the uprights;
- one 17 mm spanner for fixing the uprights to the ground.
The assembly procedure requires the use of expansion plugs having diameter of 10 mm
with M10 nut for fixing the uprights to the ground.
With reference to the instructions in point 3.2 PRELIMINARY CHECKS concerning
compliance with the design requirements, the operations described below refer to the
positioning of the EASY BARRIER structure in accordance with the design defined by the
customer company.
Before installing EASY BARRIER, ensure that the recommendations in point 3.2
PRELIMINARY CHECKS of this operator’s manual have been complied with.

The staff involved in the installation of EASY BARRIER, at least two skilled fitters, must
follow the assembly procedure described below, step by step:
1. take the design lay-out and mark the positions of the structure’s uprights on the
ground, complying strictly with all the indicated measurements. When doing this, it
is necessary to respect the safety distances from dangerous areas defined by the
technical standard UNI EN ISO 13857, a summary of which is reported in the
enclosures to the present Manual by way of a not exhaustive example;
Before installation of EASY BARRIER, the customer must consider the contents of the

and mark the holes to be drilled on the ground
(4 for each upright) according to the indications

4. place the upright again on the ground, far away from the previously marked area,
that is where the holes will be made;

5. take a drill with a concrete bit 10 mm in diameter and drill the holes required to fix
the upright, making them at least as long as the length of the
expansion plug;
6. clean thoroughly the places where the holes were done;
7. fit the expansion plugs in the just made holes, position the
upright and screw in the bolts, in order to fix securely the
upright to the concrete floor;
8. take the “sKatto” fixing plates (4 for the panels 1.890 m high
and 5 for those 2.385 m high) and fix them to the panels, as
shown in figure c, making sure that the captivity fixing hooks
are wedged in the horizontal wires of the mesh;

9. after having hooked the fixing plates, take the panel and fix it to
the uprights (or to the hinge), making sure that the mesh
profiles are inserted in the “sKatto” cavities (figure d). Use the specific bolts
delivered with the fixing plates (photo e) for fixing “sKatto” to the upright; in
particular, it is to be noted that the uprights of the structure are already provided
with the holes for fixing the panels. After fixing, it is necessary to place a support
underneath the mounted panel to prevent it from falling over (the panel is fixed on
one side only); in particular, one of the fitters must make sure that the assembled
parts do not fall over due to the lack of balance;

10. repeat the procedure from point 3) with the assembly of the second in-line upright,
followed by the assembly of the first section of the structure;

11. repeat the steps from 3) to 10) to complete the installation of the whole extension of
the structure, as designed;
12. specific components such as the gate giving access to the protected area require at
least two operators to handle them manually; once the gate unit has been put in
place, proceed as described in point 3).
The operating procedure described above is for the sole use of the staff appointed
by the customer company with the task of installation. These are the only staff who
have the skills and tools required to perform these operations in safety condition.
Never move/disassemble the machine or its parts without the presence of a
technician directly authorized to carry out these operations by the customer
company.
Once the various elements which make up the structure have been mounted, check that
the assembled parts are perfectly intact and correctly fixed.
In the event of flaws or doubts about the assembly, suspend any further operation and
inform immediately DELLA CASA RETI S.R.L. CON UNICO SOCIO about all
circumstances.
Once EASY BARRIER has been installed, check if the parts are perfectly intact and if the
assembling has been carried out as indicated in the Use and Maintenance Manual. In the
event of flaws or doubts about the assembly, suspend any further operation and contact
immediately DELLA CASA RETI S.R.L. CON UNICO SOCIO.
DANGER
3.4 CLEANING
If necessary, the technician appointed by the customer company to install EASY
BARRIER will clean it before it is put into service. The system must be cleaned with a
damp cloth and a non-aggressive detergent.
EASY BARRIER requires a minimum space around its perimeter for its safe use and for
the safe performance of routine maintenance; this space must be at least 850 mm wide.
This space must be kept clean, empty (no animals and/or objects) and in good operating
condition.
3.5 CONNECTION TO POWER SOURCES

In its basic configuration EASY BARRIER does not include any electrical parts; however,
the customer company must have the structure connected to the electrical ground by a
qualified electrician of its choice.
On special request of the customer company, EASY BARRIER can be completed with
optional safety devices produced by others (photo f - safety micro-switch), to be applied
to the structures of the access gates of the isolated area. The application of the above
mentioned safety devices is the total responsibility of the customer company, who has to
carry out the installation in such a way that opening of any access gate of the isolated
area provided with a safety micro-switch cuts off any supply to what is contained in the

area, causing the immediate emergency stop of any
moveable component and consequently of the working
cycle in operation; in this way, a safe access to the
isolated area will be ensured.
Once the residual risks inside the protected area are
known, the customer company can ask their technician

to install also emergency stop buttons inside and
outside the protected area, in addition to specific
restarting control devices and pictograms about
residual risks present inside the dangerous area.
The technician, qualified to carry on such activities, will:
- make the electrical ground connections for the entire structure;
- make the electrical connection of the safety micro-switches and possible necessary
control devices, carrying out the connections according to the current regulations;
- consign the EC Declaration of Conformity concerning the work done, complete with
the system design and certification of his Chamber of Commerce registration, to the
customer company.
It is pointed out that the electrician will find the instructions for correct installation in the
technical documentation of the safety devices issued by their manufacturers.
Before the electrical ground connections of EASY BARRIER, make sure that the cable
section is correct so as to protect both people and the electrical system.

Before the installation of the safety devices, the installation engineer appointed by the
customer company will have to read the technical documentation issued by the respective
producers of interlock micro-switches related to the installation specifications.
ATTENTION

NOTE
The manufacturer shall be relieved of all responsibility in the event of any injury or
damage to objects or persons arising from incorrect application of the relevant EC
regulations.
Electrocution hazard: the electrical connection must be made by the maintenance

electrician (who is aware of the hazards involved and knows how to avoid them).

CHAPTER 4 – USE OF THE BARRIER
This chapter contains useful information for the safe operation of EASY BARRIER; the
information contained therein is therefore intended for the operator who uses the structure,
and therefore, he must read it carefully and understand it so as to be able to adopt
procedures for safe use of the equipment. The customer company is obliged to make sure
that the operator who uses EASY BARRIER reads and fully understands this chapter
before carrying out any operation using the controls and/or on the structure itself.

components of the present machine, paying particular attention to the parts relating
to their use;
- carry out the operations in accordance with the instructions provided in this
technical manual.
4.1 INTENDED USE

The spacing barrier, called EASY BARRIER, whose function is the perimeter fencing, is a
limiting free access thereto. Before its installation, according to the technical standard UNI
EN ISO 13857, the Client is requested to define the profile of the area to be delimited, as
well as to assess the residual risks, if present, within the area to be protected.

4.2 CONTROLS
In its basic configuration, EASY BARRIER is provided only with control devices which are
constituted by handles and locks for opening and closing the gates giving access to the
protected area (photo g).
n particular, the control devices present on the anti-intrusion barrier called EASY
BARRIER, have been designed and constructed so as to:
- be clearly visible, identifiable and easily accessible to the operators;
- assure an unequivocal, safe and rapid operation, as well as be consistent with the
control action;
- resist to the expected stresses, since made of a material which guarantees high
strength;
- be installed outside the dangerous areas and in such a way that their operation
does not cause additional risks.
In order to assure a safe use of EASY BARRIER, the Customer should follow strictly what
has been indicated in the paragraph 3.2 PRELIMINARY CHECKS; in this respect, the
Customer has to design the extension of the EASY BARRIER in such a way that the
control devices will be situated in positions which protect the staff from possible risks.

On specific request of the customer company, it is possible to complete EASY BARRIER
with optional safety devices (safety micro-switches), produced by others, to be applied to
the structures of the access gates to prevent the access to the potentially dangerous
areas.
The installation of the above mentioned safety devices is the total responsibility of the
customer company, who must have them fitted in such a way that the opening of any
restricted area access gate equipped with a safety micro-switch cuts off all forms of power
supply to the equipment installed in the area (thus stopping all moving components and
thus the working cycle in operation), allowing safe access to the protected area.
Once the residual risks inside the protected area are known, the customer company will
ask their technician to install also possible pictograms that indicate the residual risks,
emergency stop buttons inside and outside the protected area, in addition to specific
control devices for starting, restarting and normal stop.

and the EC Declarations of Conformity of the safety micro-switches installed on EASY
appointed by the customer company to mount and connect the devices.
It is to be noted that the electrical systems of the devices, if requested, must be connected
by technical staff, who are chosen and authorized by the customer company and who
meet the legal requirements.
It is recalled that on completion of the installation work, the installation engineer must
issue, to the customer company, a copy of the declaration of conformity relating to the
actually done work, as well as a copy of his Chamber of Commerce registration certificate
and certification that he is legally qualified.
4.3 PROCEDURE FOR RESTARTING AFTER A STOPPAGE

Considering the residual risks possibly contained inside the protected area, the customer
company can design and install a system for restarting the machine/plant inside the
protected area after an emergency stoppage or after the opening of an access gate fitted
with a safety micro-switch.
In particular, they can ask the electrician responsible for the connections, to install, if
necessary, also emergency stop buttons both outside and inside the protected area, in
addition to specific control devices for starting, restarting and normal stop; such
connections must be carried out in accordance with the current regulations.
In this respect, one possible procedure for restarting EASY BARRIER after a stoppage is
the following:
1. The emergency button has been pressed;
2. The moving parts inside the protected area are at a standstill in their positions at the
time when the button was pressed, and therefore they may or may not be at the “0
point” of their working cycle;
3. Enter the protected area;
4. Identify and remove all anomalies or hazards found;
5. If unable to remove the anomalies, contact the respective manufacturers at once;
6. Leave the protected area and close the access gate, making sure that the safety

4.4 DESCRIPTION OF THE ACCESSES
The spacing barrier, called EASY BARRIER, whose function is the perimeter fencing, is a
UNI EN ISO 13857, the Client is requested to define the profile of the area to be delimited,
as well as to assess the residual risks, if present, within the area to be protected.
The access gates supplied with the barrier are large enough to allow convenient access to
the protected area fenced by EASY BARRIER.
DELLA CASA RETI S.R.L. CON UNICO SOCIO can supply custom-sized gates to suit
the customer’s actual requirements and the dimensions and environmental characteristics
of the premises where the barrier is to be installed. In any case it is noted that all the gates
are supplied to the clients already assembled.
The entrances can be constituted by swinging gates with a key lock and inside handle
(photo h) or with a panic handle or manual sliding gates (photo i) or with automatic
opening, on the Customer’s specific request; in particular, the automatic opening is
obtained electrically or by a pneumatic cylinder.

On the Customer’s request, hinged gates can be provided with safety devices with micro-
switches to be installed on the access gate structures to prevent the access to the
protected area if there are hazards to persons (photo j).

4.5 RESIDUAL RISKS
In spite of the careful design and construction, there may be residual risks relating to
EASY BARRIER which it has not been possible to eliminate completely.
The following is a list of the potential risks to which the operator may be exposed, in some
cases as a result of failure to comply with the procedures described in this manual.
EASY BARRIER has been designed and constructed to act as a spacing barrier and
therefore the following are specifically forbidden:
1. planning the extension of EASY BARRIER without respecting the requirements
given in the paragraph 3.2 PRELIMINARY CHECKS;
2. installing EASY BARRIER in an environment that does not meet the characteristics
stated in this manual (Ref. Chapter 3);
3. installing EASY BARRIER without respecting the instructions given in the
paragraph 3.3 INSTALLATION;
4. installing EASY BARRIER without respecting the safety distances around the
dangerous areas (e.g. UNI EN ISO 13857);
5. failing to use of the recommended PPE specified in this manual during the use of
EASY BARRIER as well as those indicated by the Customer, depending on the
residual risks possibly present inside the area to be protected;
6. using the access gate by an unauthorized person;
7. failing to perform routine or extraordinary maintenance of the entire structure;
8. deactivating the safety micro-switches (if supplied);
9. failing to secure the structure to the concrete floor;
10. securing the structure to a floor, which is not perfectly leveled and presents damp
and/or irregularities and/or is not made of concrete, and whose load bearing
capacity is not suitable;
11. failing to comply with normal safety rules as well as with those explicitly indicated by
the present Manual;
12. modifying the structure to change its characteristics with respect to those specified
in the original design and/or tampering with the metal parts of the structure under
discussion;
13. using EASY BARRIER for a purpose other than that for which it was designed and
constructed (e.g. use as a mechanical guard around a danger area);
14. individually handling some parts of EASY BARRIER, such as access gates of the
dangerous areas;
15. using the structure without having carried out the checks indicated by the present
Manual;
16. using the structure with persons, animals or objects in its immediate vicinity;
17. placing objects or animals in front of or close to the gates giving access to the
protected area, restricting operation of and access to the gate;

operations;
19. failing to comply with the instructions indicated in the present Manual with regard to
the safety devices, if required;

scrapes, sparks, hot material, melted or cold, powder, etc.);
22. using the structure for reducing and/or bringing down the noise;

24. using the structure for protection from the risk of exposure to dangerous radiation;
25. using the structure for containing or dissipating the energy emitted by an explosion.

present in the protected area) assessed by the customer/manufacturer with regard to the
whole machine.

The customer or the manufacturer of a group of machines, who performs the assembly
between EASY BARRIER and an already existing machine/plant, has to consider the
necessity to organize a training course and operating instruction for the staff who will use
the assembled machine on the basis of the risks (also residual risks if present in the

4.6 HAZARDS PRODUCED BY MODES OF USE
DELLA CASA RETI S.R.L. CON UNICO SOCIO accepts no liability for damage to persons,
objects and/or animals caused by operations carried out with EASY BARRIER after removal
of the guards or the equipment installed and detailed in the lay-out approved by the customer.
Furthermore, DELLA CASA RETI S.R.L. CON UNICO SOCIO accepts no liability for
damage caused by events arising from failure to comply with the use and/or maintenance
procedures, listed below (list of examples, not a full detail):
 failure to use the PPE recommended in this manual;
 failure to perform the necessary checks at the change of the work shift;
 the contents of the technical standard EN ISO 13857 related to the safety distances
are not complied with;
 a situation described in the paragraph 4.5 occurs;
 the supplied working instructions are not complied with;
 the operator performs maintenance without using suitable PPE;
 EASY BARRIER is used with the control systems and/or the signs/pictograms
tampered with and/or when it is out of service;
 the machine is used in spaces smaller than those specified.
Use of EASY BARRIER with the installed equipment removed/modified is absolutely

forbidden.

4.8 BEHAVIOUR IN CASE OF AN ACCIDENT

In case of an accident, it is necessary to warn the members of the Company first aid team,
who will deal with the accident in accordance with their general and specific training
(Reference to Company Emergency Plan) as well as with the contents of the Company’s
internal procedures.

CHAPTER 5 - MAINTENANCE
In order to assure the security of the EASY BARRIER operators and to maintain its
technical characteristics, it is necessary to perform a periodical check of the condition and
functionality of its main and additional components.
The present chapter includes a list of maintenance operations of EASY BARRIER and the
practical modes for carrying them out correctly, as well as indication about frequency
thereof.
There are two control operations to be entrusted to different professional figures, who will
be responsible for the ordinary and extraordinary maintenance to be carried out on the
spacing barrier, in accordance with their different skills.
In particular, the figures authorized to act on EASY BARRIER are:
- OPERATOR: the operator must be qualified to correctly carry out the daily controls,
routine maintenance and to correctly and constantly use the PPE recommended by
the customer company. The visual checks of the conditions of the spacing barrier
are considered routine maintenance. The routine maintenance does not require
specific skills to be carried out.
- SERVICEMAN: the maintenance service, both internal and external, must be
qualified to correctly carry out the extraordinary checks of the EASY BARRIER.

conditions and functionality of the barrier are considered extraordinary
maintenance. These operations require particular skills and specific tools, as well as
the correct and constant use of the recommenced PPE.
If, after having carried out the routine or extraordinary maintenance operations, the
operator or the serviceman finds malfunctions or problems related to the conditions of
EASY BARRIER, he/she must not use the spacing barrier, but has to contact immediately

repair/substitution thereof, restoring working order of the spacing barrier.
The following is a complete list of maintenance operations to be carried out on EASY
BARRIER and their frequency, divided on the basis the type of maintenance service that

5.1 ROUTINE MAINTENANCE OPERATIONS (OPERATORS)

Those checks of EASY BARRIER that visually verify its conditions are considered as
routine maintenance operations.
During these checks, the operator responsible for using EASY BARRIER, must wear the
PPE recommended to reduce accident risks; such personal protection devices are listed
below.

Customer depending on the residual risks possibly present inside the area to be

authorized and suitably trained for this task;
4. failing to comply with normal safety rules during the routine maintenance of EASY
BARRIER;
5. carrying out routine maintenance of EASY BARRIER in the presence of hazardous
and/or toxic substances;
6. carrying out routine maintenance of EASY BARRIER in a way different from what
has been indicated in the present paragraph;
7. self-carrying out repairs or welding of EASY BARRIER and/or its components;
8. painting or zinc-coating EASY BARRIER and/or its components;

adopt safety procedures so as not to put at risk his/her health, as well as other operators’
health, if present in the operation area. The operator is also required not to carry out
actions which could jeopardize the spacing barrier functionality.
This paragraph describes the procedures recommended by DELLA CASA RETI S.R.L.
CON UNICO SOCIO in order to carry out correctly the maintenance operations. The
maintenance operations carried out correctly and periodically are important for the EASY
BARRIER lifespan, while the maintenance operations carried out in an improper and
incorrect way can be extremely harmful to the spacing barrier lifespan, dangerous and can
cause accidents.

BARRIER if maintenance operations different from those listed in this manual are carried
out.

maintenance service, both internal and external.

have a significant, at least two years’ experience in this job and technical skills that allow
them to work in safety conditions and to understand and interpret correctly the technical
instructions contained in the present documentation as well as in the documentation
enclosed therewith.
EASY BARRIER is a modular system designed and constructed to delimit dangerous
areas, preventing or limiting the free access thereto.
Therefore, it is specifically forbidden:
1. carrying out the extraordinary maintenance of EASY BARRIER in an environment
that does not meet the characteristics stated in this manual;
2. carrying out extraordinary maintenance of EASY BARRIER, without use of the
recommended PPE specified in this manual, as well as those indicated by the
Customer depending on the residual risks possibly present inside the area to be
protected;
3. carrying out extraordinary maintenance of EASY BARRIER by a person, who is not
authorized and suitably trained for this task;
4. failing to comply with normal safety rules during the extraordinary maintenance of
EASY BARRIER;
5. carrying out the extraordinary maintenance of EASY BARRIER in the presence of
hazardous and/or toxic substances;
6. carrying out the extraordinary maintenance of EASY BARRIER in a way different
from what has been indicated in the present paragraph;
7. self-carrying out repairs or welding of EASY BARRIER and/or its components;

could jeopardize the spacing barrier functionality.

below as well as carried out by non authorized operators is absolutely forbidden.

The following is a list of some of the possible malfunctions which may occur during the use
of EASY BARRIER; they are associated with most common possible solutions.
Depending on the case, these solutions can be coped with directly by the maintenance
service appointed by the customer company or the latter can ask DELLA CASA RETI
S.R.L. CON UNICO SOCIO.
 Structure unstable
Possible causes:
1) The resting feet are not leveled.
To solve the problem: adjust the individual feet, fixing them correctly, until the
system is perfectly stable.
2) The panels are not securely fixed.
To solve the problem: tighten the metal bolts and nuts so that the panels are securely
fixed to their uprights.

5.4 REGULAR INSPECTION OF SAFETY AND

EMERGENCY DEVICES
If requested by the customer, EASY BARRIER can be
completed with optional safety devices (photo k –
safety micro-switch), produced by others, to be
installed on the access gates structures, to prevent or
reduce the free access to the dangerous areas.

Remember that the installation and electrical
connection of these micro-switches is the total
responsibility of the customer company, who must also inspect them to ensure that they
are in good working order. In particular, the operation of the safety devices serving EASY
BARRIER must be checked weekly by the department manager and/or the company’s
maintenance manager, both internal and external.
These staff members must check that the devices are operating correctly, making sure
that it is not possible to access the protected area during the operation of the
machine/plant, or when situations particularly hazardous for the operators may occur.
For the maintenance operations and their frequency necessary to preserve the technical-
functional characteristics, reference must be made to the specific technical documentation
issued by the respective manufacturers of the safety devices, if required.
Inspection procedures of the safety devices must be carried out by the department
manager and/or maintenance service.

In case of malfunction of the safety devices and/or automatic opening of the gates, contact
directly the servicing of the respective manufacturers of the components.
Do not use EASY BARRIER if a malfunction has been discovered.

When they are installed, the damaged or malfunctioning safety devices must be

5.5 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM DIAGRAM

It is pointed out that EASY BARRIER spacing barrier has been designed and constructed
to delimit dangerous areas, preventing or limiting the free access thereto; therefore, in its
basic configuration, EASY BARRIER does not need to be connected to power sources.
However, the customer company must have the structure connected to the electrical
ground by a qualified electrician of its choice.
However, on a specific request of the customer company, it is possible to complete EASY
BARRIER with optional safety devices (safety micro-switches), produced by others, to be
applied to the structures of the access doors. The installation of the above mentioned
safety devices is the total responsibility of the customer company, who will give the
installation task to a technician qualified to carry on such activities. In particular, the
technician will:
- make the electrical ground connections for the entire structure;
- make the electrical connection of the safety micro-switches and possible necessary
control devices, carrying out the connections in accordance with the current
regulations;
- consign the EC Declaration of Conformity concerning the work done, complete with
the system design and certification of his Chamber of Commerce registration, to the
customer company.

BARRIER, reference must be made to the specific documentation issued by the
respective manufacturers.

CHAPTER 6 – DECOMMISSIONING
The contents of this chapter are intended for the company’s maintenance service, either
external or internal.
The operators of the company maintenance service, both internal and external, should
have a significant, at least two years’ experience in this job and technical skills that allow
them to work in safety conditions and to understand and interpret correctly the technical
instructions contained in the present documentation as well as in the documentation
enclosed therewith.
6.1 DISCONNECTION OF POWER SOURCES AND DISASSEMBLY

In its basic configuration, EASY BARRIER does not include any electrical connections and
thus it does not need to be disconnected from power sources.
If requested by the customer, EASY BARRIER can be completed with safety devices;
therefore, with this configuration, the spacing barrier has electrical connections. The
operations necessary to disconnect EASY BARRIER from the energy sources must be carried
out by qualified staff, directly appointed by the customer company and with the necessary
skills; in particular, the instructions provided in the technical documentation issued by the
manufacturer of the safety micro-switches installed to the structures of the doors giving
access to the protected area must be complied with.
Before disconnecting any safety micro-switch, if present, always make sure that the
power supply upstream of the system is disconnected .
DANGER
EASY BARRIER must be disassembled following the procedures described in this manual, in
Chapter 3 Installation.
It is recalled that these operations require at least two expert fitters, chosen and appointed
by the customer company to perform this task; in particular, these fitters must have
appropriate experience and be accustomed to dealing with delicate materials.
Do not attempt to disassemble EASY BARRIER unless authorized.

for damages to objects or persons caused during disassembly by unauthorized staff .

6.2 SCRAPPING AND DISPOSAL

The user must dispose of the component materials of the machine in accordance with
the requirements of the European Community Directives on environmental protection in
force at the time of scrapping.

Before scrapping this spacing barrier, it is good practice to communicate to its
constructor all the data on the nameplate, and those relating to the components to be
scrapped.
EASY BARRIER is constructed using materials which are not subject to specific disposal
requirements due to harmful and/or toxic status, and which therefore do not require
special disposal procedures.
If the system is scrapped, the user must comply with the local legal requirements and
take special care when disposing of materials of environmental significance, such as:
 plastics;
 coated electrical wires.

CHAPTER 7 – SPARE PARTS
It may be necessary to replace some consumable parts or worn parts of EASY BARRIER.
DELLA CASA RETI S.R.L. CON UNICO SOCIO is at customers’ service to solve any
problems relating to the correct and safe operation of the spacing barrier.
For this purpose, customers are offered a telephone advisory service for the quick solution
of simple problems.

Only specialized staff, authorized by DELLA CASA RETI s.r.l. CON UNICO SOCIO, may
carry out part replacement operations, which are required to restore working order of the
spacing barrier.

7.1 SPARE PARTS ORDERING PROCEDURE

With reference to what above, the individual parts of EASY BARRIER are identified by a
serial number and/or a model indicated on the nameplate; this information is of capital
importance in communications with the relative manufacturers.
In this respect, to obtain quick delivery of spare parts, it is necessary to communicate to
the relative manufacturer the following data, by means of purchase order if appropriate:
 model of the machine
 serial number
 description of the component
 reference code of the component (refer to the annexes of this manual)
 quantity required.

CHAPTER 9 – WARRANTY
DELLA CASA RETI S.R.L. CON UNICO SOCIO grants a warranty of twenty-four months
from the delivery date for new metal structures used in normal working hours of eight
hours per day; if the structures are used for two or three shifts per day, the warranty period
will be reduced to one half or one third respectively.
Unless otherwise agreed, the warranty only applies to new metal structures constructed by
the vendor; therefore, the warranty does not apply to reconditioned metal structures or
those parts constructed by other companies for which any warranties provided by the
respective constructors shall apply.
The warranty comprises the repair or replacement of any parts found to be defective in
material or workmanship, returned to the DELLA CASA RETI S.R.L. CON UNICO SOCIO
plant, freight prepaid.
The warranty does not extend to failures arising from incorrect installation, careless use of
the machine, incorrect maintenance, negligence, or modifications to the machines or use
of non-genuine parts without the vendor’s approval; all electrical components are always
excluded from the warranty.
Under no circumstances shall pieces which have failed or broken due to normal wear and
tear, use in unsuitable conditions or use of the machines other than the intended use
agreed in the sales contract, be replaced free of charge.
The warranty shall cease to apply in the event of tampering with the line by unauthorized
staff.
The customer shall be charged in full for all repairs or replacement of pieces due to
failures not arising from construction defects or poor quality of materials.

ANNEX A – SAFETY DISTANCES
Before installation, read carefully all the contents of this Use and Maintenance Manual and
make sure that you have understood them.
If you need further explanation and in-depth analysis please do not hesitate to contact

While planning of the EASY BARRIER extension, the Customer must assess the residual
risks, if present, inside the area to be protected, as well as observe the contents of the
technical rule UNI EN ISO 13857; in particular, the rule sets the values for the safety
distances required to prevent upper and lower limbs from reaching dangerous areas.
The present annex contains an abstract of the technical specifications of rule UNI EN ISO
13857.
Having read such abstract, enclosed by way of a not exhaustive example, is NOT enough
to plan the lay-out of EASY BARRIER; therefore, please read the technical rule in respect
of its contents.
Before planning and installing EASY BARRIER, the customer must consider:
- the contents of the harmonized standard rule UNI EN ISO 13857;
- the residual risks possibly present within the area to be protected.

Consultation of the summary of the standard rule annexed to the Use and Maintenance
Manual is not a sufficient qualification for planning the EASY BARRIER lay-out. The
Customer must take into consideration the standard rule UNI EN ISO 13857 to respect the
