Introducing the SelfServ 23
The SelfServ 23 is a brand new interior freestanding cash dispenser
from NCR. As a global leader in consumer transaction technology for
28 consecutive years, NCR’s ATMs are proven in handling millions of
consumer interactions every day. The user experience at the ATM is
now enhanced by the SelfServ 23 through a contemporary look and feel
and robust build quality.
A process of continuous improvement and investment in NCR’s core cash dispense business
ensures the SelfServ 23 delivers upon the core SelfServ values of higher availability, improved
service, better security, intuitive usability, enhanced performance and superior design. These
core values help financial institutions enhance the consumer experience and lower the costs
involved in maintaining and deploying their ATM network.
The SelfServ 23 demonstrates how NCR ATM technology is evolving. The advanced S2 Media
Dispense Module features up 17% greater cassette capacity (up to 2,500 notes) and the ability to
present up to 60 notes (depending on note quality) in a single transaction.
A solution like the SelfServ 23 enables financial institutions to grow their business and serve
more customers in a cost effective manner whilst delivering an unrivalled consumer
experience.

We have listened to customer feedback and developed six core values that are fundamental to
our new ATMs:
Higher Availability – Ensures the SelfServ 23 delivers the transactions consumers want,
where and when they need them. High availability is important in ensuring consumer
interactions at the ATM are 100% successful every time. The SelfServ 23 express
recovery and self-healing technologies also reduce potential ATM downtime from hours
to minutes making these ATMs available around the clock.
Improved Service - The SelfServ 23 is designed to make ATM servicing easier and
faster. An example of this is using the SelfService Assistant for APTRA which features
full motion video lead through, enabling easier first line maintenance. There is also a
software enabled express recovery feature for faster reboot time during second line
maintenance. The advanced S2 Media Dispense Module also has 7 every unit item field
replaceable units that ensure fast and easy part replacement. This improves first time
fixes and minimizes engineer revisits.
Increased Security – Security on the SelfServ23 has been “designed in” rather than
“bolted on” in reaction to risks. NCR has taken a holistic approach to security on the
SelfServ 23, protecting all potential points of compromise from insider attacks such as
cash trapping, card skimming and dispenser manipulations on the ATM. To further
enhance security, the CEN 1 safe body is exactly the same strength as the door. This is
compared to CEN L which has a weaker body. The safe provides 66% more resistance to
full access attacks and 50% more resistance to attacks to remove a cassette.
Better by Design– The SelfServ 23’s contemporary design and visual harmony with
branch transformation hardware enables a more versatile placement of the ATM.
Clean lines and modern aesthetics deliver a more user friendly experience. The design
