Ÿ Existence of a permanent secretariat.

1. Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development through the implementation of the
Parañaque City Business Registry Databank (PCBRD) and the promotion of BMBE law through city
ordinance #04-20 and 04-15 respectively. (See Page 12)
2.. PqCCI is currently pursuing the creation of the Parañaque Trade and Industry Board;
3. PqCCI is also pushing for the re-activation of the Parañaque SMED Council.

PqCCI continues to utilize electronic communication medium in informing its members and the
general public of its activities. A mailing list was created from the previous training and seminars
participants' database to assure that they, too, may receive announcements for upcoming activities
and projects of the chamber.

Updates on recent activities are also published through the official newsletter of PqCCI - the
PARAÑAQUE BUSINESSMAN", an issue of which is released during quarterly GMMs and is also
uploaded to the chamber's website (www.pqcci.org).

Using the information contained in the Parañaque Business Registry Databank (PCBRD), the
Parañaque Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PqCCI) fosters and encourages free flow of data,
information and ideas between the city government and the business community with the end in view
of promoting and encouraging participation in business matching activities.

PqCCI is also a member of the PCCI and MMCCI e-groups. Through these networks, PqCCI
obtains valuable information which it passes on to its member companies.

Ÿ Undertaking of trade and investment promotion projects such as trade fairs, and trade and
investment missions.

The Parañaque City Business Registry Databank (PCBRD) serves as a repository of all relevant
economic and business information of all establishments operating in the city. The PqCCI Secretariat
manages and maintains the database of the PCBRD. As such, PqCCI can:

©Promote and participate in business matching fora using the information contained in the databank;

©Foster and encourage free flow of data, information and ideas between the city government and the

“PRISM 2”

Ms. Dorothy Navarro, a USAID Coordinator, presents PRISM 2 before the crowd at the PqCCI’s 64th General
Membership Meeting held at Max’s Restaurant - Sucat, Branch. Private Sector Mobilization for Family Health Phase 2
(PRISM 2) is USAID’s thrust in enhancing engagement with the Private Sector for better health service delivery. PqCCI
allocated a 30-minue slot for the organization to deliver their presentation. PqCCI also endorsed member companies who
might be interested to partner with them on this undertaking.

The PqCCI’s 64th GMM featured the re-elected Mayor Florencio M. Bernabe, Jr. And Vice Mayor Gus Tambunting
of Parañaque City. The theme “Forum for Progress” aims to allow the local government deliver its
accomplishments and updates on what Parañaquenses may expect on the coming years, especially, with the
Mayor’s last term in office; and on the other hand, to allow the constituents to air their concerns on various issues
affecting the community as a whole.

The PqCCI Secretariat also manages and maintains the


database of the Parañaque City Business Registry
Databank (PCBRD). As such, PqCCI can:

©Provide data that may be required for trade and


investment promotion by the City Government of
Parañaque;

©Promote and participate in business matching fora


using the information contained in the databank;

©Foster and encourage free flow of data, information


and ideas between the city government and the
business community; and

©Provide an effective communication channel by which


policies and programs of the City Government of
Parañaque may be more efficiently disseminated.
