AP Chemistry
Course Overview
AP Chemistry is a dual enrolled, AP level course teaching the material of a first semester, college
chemistry course. The course offers both a conceptual and problem solving approach to the mastering of
chemistry.
The material is high level and fast paced. A large amount of outside reading is essential to the
successful completion of the course. Pre-reading is a requirement. Lab work is considered a hallmark of
any chemistry course, so it essential that students be present during lab work days. Lab work usually
cannot be rescheduled.
Grading is based on the percentage of correct responses on all tests. Lab reports are an integral part of
the grading criteria.
Promptness is essential in the scientific field. All missed assignments are due the day of a students return.
All late work is assessed a 10% penalty per school day from the date the assignment was due until the
date the work is submitted.
Technology
e-Backpack will be used for all virtual day assignments. Albert.IO will used extensively for in-class and
homework assignments. My Weebly page will list all assignments given. Various chemical
instrumentation will be used during labs.
