1 General information
1.1 This manual should be read carefully prior to use of the vibrating poker in order that
all safety procedures are adhered to.
1.2 Avoid corrosive substances coming into contact with the motor assembly.
1.3 Dimensions: 200mm long x 300mm wide x 350mm high : weight 9 Kg.
2 Safety
2.1 The vibrating poker should be used only by trained personnel.
2.2 Only use the switch on the motor to start and stop the vibrating poker.
2.3 ELE assumes no liability for damage caused to the machine or it’s operators by
misuse of the machine.
2.4 Never leave the unit alone when turned on.
2.5 The vibrating poker must not be modified or tampered with. The removal/tampering of
the safety devices will be an infringement to the EEC Safety Standards and ELE
assumes no liability for any subsequent damage.
2.6 The equipment must not be subjected to violent shocks.
2.7 Do not submerge the electric unit into water, concrete or any other liquid matter. Do
not use the machine in presence of flammable liquids or gases. It is advisable not to
expose it to rain.
2.8 Keep the electric motor and vibrator clean, but never wash the motor unit using water.
2.9 The sound output has been checked following the ISO 6081(1986) rules by normal
work, and with the vibrator inside sand/water mix in metal box diam. 50 cm, height 50
cm and at 1m distance.
3 Electrical Safety
This equipment has been tested and is safe to use providing that the proper safety
precautions are observed:
Do not use this equipment in any manner, other than as specified in this user
manual, misuse may result in serious injury to personnel.
Do not attempt to operate the equipment with electrical covers removed.
This equipment must be connected to a protected RCCB electrical system.
Refer to Installation section before installing machine.
Do not operate machine with wet hands.
Never carry the unit by it’s cable or pull the cable to disconnect it from the
socket. Keep the cable away from heat, oil and sharp edges. Inspect the cable
regularly and refer any damage to an authorised service engineer.
When the vibrating poker is used outdoors, only use extension cords intended
for outdoor use and connected to an RCCB protected supply.
Important Note : Please read this entire manual before unpacking, setting up or
operating this equipment. Pay particular attention to all DANGER and CAUTION
statements. Failure to do so could result in serious injury to the operator, or other
personnel, or damage to the equipment.

Key to Hazard Information


DANGER : Indicates a potentially or imminently hazardous situation which, if not
avoided, could result in death or serious injury.
CAUTION : Indicates a potentially hazardous situation that may result in minor or
moderate injury.

DANGER : Before removing any covers or performing maintenance repair and
service, isolate from electrical supply by removing mains plug. Where mains supply is
required during these activities, only competent persons should perform the work.
CAUTION : Check that the power supply is compatible with the requirements stated
on the label and connect in accordance with IEE regulations or to local requirements.
It is recommended that this machine be connected via a residual current device (not
supplied), and it should operate if earth leakage current exceeds 0.03 amps.
The power cable is coded as follows:
Brown wire L Live or Power
Blue wire N Neutral
Green/Yellow wire E Earth or Ground
Portable Appliance Tests (PAT)
All ELE supplied products are tested for electrical safety prior to sale.
An electrical safety test label is fitted (usually adjacent to the mains input socket).
Should no label be found, please contact the ELE Service Department quoting the
serial number of the equipment.
DANGER : Organisations have an obligation to ensure equipment is maintained and
is safe for use. Regular PAT testing is one means of ensuring equipment continues to
be electrically safe.
NOTE : DO NOT FLASH TEST ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT.
4 Installation
4.1 After removing the packaging, and before using the vibrating poker, ensure that all
the components are in good condition and have no defective or damaged parts.
4.2 Before disposing of the packaging, ensure that the operating manual and all parts
have been removed.
4.3 The unit must be stored between -10° and 70°C, humidity is not important.
4.4 The machine must be used in a properly ventilated location to avoid accumulation of
any possible noxious gases.
4.5 The flexible shaft of the vibrator cannot be bent more than 50 cm radius.
4.6 Always wear gloves, safety goggles, shoes and helmet when operating the vibrator.

5 Instructions for use


5.1 START:
Check on the rating plate that the electrical power is correct.
Connect the vibrator to the motor.
Connect plug of the motor to electrical supply, with motor turned off.
Hold vibrator and motor and then turn on.
5.2 STOP:
Turn off the motor and then disconnect the plug.
Clean poker after use.
Store the motor and vibrator unit correctly.
