THE MINISTRY EVENT IN FLORES DE MAYO

Flores de Mayo is a special event that the pastoral ministries imposing,

especially on the month of May. The children or adults are widely open to be

involved to this event, since the topics are purely based on the basic doctrine of

the church. Everyone is invited to joined so that they will be reminded or

deepen more their faith to God by studying and knowing his background

through the written or preserved evidences by our elders. Flores de Mayo or

flowers of May is focusing on the life stories of the family of Jesus Christ our Lord

and to Mary his mother, also ours.

The picture above was taken on May 12, 2018 at the chapel of “Our lady

of Mount Carmen”, Busco. At that moment we have the opportunity to teach

the children, they’re more or less 40 children who attended the Flores de Mayo.

As I had observed they are so active as well as participative during the session,

games, and time for prayer.

 They initiative of the pastoral ministers and celda groups makes this event

successful. They act or think to priorities the event than nothing at all. This is every

important as I have said it helps the children to broaden their cogito to know

something about the doctrines of the church no matter how big or small they

partake during the sessions. They also teach basic prayer, how to say the rosary,

and life family of Jesus. This act will be good enough for such young minds to be

guided that prayer and knowing who Jesus is.

There are times the catechists are out therefore there are sessions that will

be missed, I also see the eagerness of the children to attend the Flores, and I

don’t know their intension, perhaps the snacks after the session, as we do that

same thing during my childhood years. I said there are time or days that the

session be missed because of some events that the catechists must do or

conflicts to solve first.

My stake will be to implements the event of church, no delay of session

because it will cause of some negative impact towards the enthusiastic of the

children. I do believe teaching children than enjoying oneself to other thing is

different but there is always time for everything. Then to implement that obliged

and active duty as they choose to be part of the ministers. Sometimes it focus

much more on fun and neglecting the most essential one.

We are all interconnected as one, in church we called this as many

bodies acting as one. Therefore, we have the same purpose in life that always
remain in each person. As one person through Christ we do our best to serve

everybody with to asking for return. That also what I experience what is the

essential of doing this exposure to some parishes, not to live as life simple and

doing nothing, but to be with everyone building a good community. As also

Jesus prayed to his Father, “… may they be one.” God only wants unity in spite

of differences; beliefs, culture or other religious practices. No war, pain,

injustices, killing, etc.

As what I have ponder and experience I want to be in the community

where I can meet variety of attitude and behavior, I want to implement the

goodness of being working as one building a people strong and full resistance

to temptation to commit against to the nature of man, as well as against to the

commandment of God. I must also consider each proposals and suggestion I

can say that the project were many heads working together is make

extraordinary output that they others may not yet encounter it. I must also

implement the honesty and being responsible to the duties and responsibilities

each of everyone have.
