III. Description Of Work

The work is under BOQ item 2.1.6.1 and 2.2.6.1

And it covers: rehabilitation of existing underground clear water reservoir

IV. Existing Situation.

a) Inflow pipeline coming from the chlorine injection point which is located beside the water tank: the
manhole at the chlorine injection point need repair; The chlorine injection pipe from the SIM tank
need to be replaced; The DN500 1 m pipe piece need to be cleaned
b) In flow restriction coming from the open-air water tank: the float valve is in good condition; the
inlet butterfly valve is in good condition; Better to install a extention spindle of this BFV for easier
operation; The pipes need to be cleaned.
c) Suction pipe: need to be cleaned, install 5 strainers
d) Access ladder: need to be re-installed
e) Earthcover: need to be completed
f) Vent pipe: need to be cleaned
g) Manhole of access: re-plaster
h) Over flow and dain system: in good condition

V. Proposed Work

a) Chlorine injection pipe will be replaced by 3/4’ PPR pipe with PVC valve, from the
preparation tank to the injection point.
b) The 1m DN500 pipe piece coming from injection chamber to CTW, The rust will be cleaned
by steel brush, and will be painted by epoxy Interseal 670 HS tsp green (the paint have
been approved by PM)
c) Chlorine Injection chamber will be replastered and covered by RC cover plate
d) The DN400 BFV located inside the chamber between SSF and CTW: will fabricate and
install a extension spindle up to 30 cm above the cover slab of the chamber. For easier
operation.
e) The vent pipe: the rust will be cleaned by steel brish, and will be painted by epoxy
Interseal 670 HS tsp green. The insect proof wires also will be installed.
f) Manhole for access to the tank: will be replastered; the existing steel cover will be cleaned
by steel brush and be painted by epoxy Interseal 670 HS tsp green.
g) The access ladder: The ladder which was removed during SECO project, will be re-installed
and cleaned by steel brush and be painted by epoxy Interseal 670 HS tsp green.
h) Overflow pipe and drain systerm: The over flow steel pipe which is near to the access
manhole need to be cleaned by steel brush and painted by epoxy Interseal 670 HS tsp
green.
i) Earth cover: all the clear water tank will be covered by at least 30 cm sand or soil,
especially the section around float valve inspection chamber.
j) Suction pipes: will be cleaned by steel brush and painted by epoxy Interseal 670 HS tsp
green, DN200 strainer will be supplied and installed to each suction pipe. The specification
and purchase order of DN200 strainer have been submitted on 22.10.2014, by letter
“CCECC/TUWASA/RDNWS/094”

VI. Time schedule

These works inside the clear water tank need 2 days time. So client should be prepared for
the shutdown of water supply.
