Daily Promises of God

for educators Genesis 8:21-22

NIV - The Lord smelled the pleasing aroma and said in his heart: “Never again will I curse the
ground because of humans, even though every inclina@on of the human heart is evil from
childhood. And never again will I destroy all living creatures, as I have done. “As long as the
earth endures, seed@me and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will
never cease.”

RSV - And when the Lord smelled the pleasing odor, the Lord said in his heart, “I will never
again curse the ground because of man, for the imagina@on of man’s heart is evil from his

youth; neither will I ever again destroy every living creature as I have done. While the earth
remains, seed@me and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night, shall not
cease.”

KJV - And the Lord smelled a sweet savour; and the Lord said in his heart, I will not again
curse the ground any more for man's sake; for the imagina@on of man's heart is evil from his
youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done. While the earth
remaineth, seed@me and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and

LB - And Jehovah was pleased with the sacrifice and said to himself, “I will never do it again—
I will never again curse the earth, destroying all living things, even though man’s bent is
always toward evil from his earliest youth, and even though he does such wicked things. As
long as the earth remains, there will be spring@me and harvest, cold and heat, winter and

Note to the educator

Don’t let your heart be troubled over the small things. Our God is above all things. He has
promised that day and night will never cease un?l He ushers in His kingdom. Let today’s worries
be shadowed by His great promise of eternity which is much bigger than our school life!
