The Reflex GYRO is a complete downhole surveying instrument
capable of surveying in all environments, magnetic and non-magnetic, providing
its own internal quality checks. The Reflex GYRO represents decades of innovative
development in borehole surveying.
The Reflex GYRO utilises a digital MEMS-
gyro, consisting of a silicon sensor chip and an
integrated circuit assembled in a ceramic (non-
magnetic) package. These components work
together to achieve unparalleled performance.
The Reflex GYRO is an easy to use, yet
technologically advanced, survey system. It
has been specifically designed to be rugged,
tolerant to shock and cost effective.

True North finding*
The Reflex GYRO has an integrated APS
system that can indicate True North azimuth*,
a GPS position and degree of inclination.
The Reflex APS (Azimuth Pointing System) is
not affected by local magnetic interference.

ensures that the highest quality data during
inclined applications.
Instrument control
The Reflex GYRO is setup and controlled
using the rugged field PC supplied with the
system. Several parameters are continuously
recorded in the onboard memory throughout
the survey to track the path of the drill hole.

Survey methods
The Reflex GYRO provides accurate
directional data (azimuth and dip) at any
interval. The instrument’s accuracy is not
affected by magnetic interference, and can
be used inside all types of drill rods or in
magnetically disturbed ground.
Data transfer & display
Once the probe has been brought to the
surface, data can be transferred from the
Reflex GYRO’s onboard memory to the field
PC via improved high-speed Bluetooth. The
full set of readings can be processed further
using the advanced Reflex GMIT5 navigation
software. Users can tabulate, plot and export
data in various formats including xls, dxf and
ASCII.
