Welcome to Waupaca Foundry – Plant 7 Lawrenceville

Waupaca Foundry VISITOR SAFETY PROTOCOL

1. All visitors are reminded to park in the designated parking lot. The maximum speed limit on our property is 10 mph.
2. All visitors and temporary contractors shall be accompanied by a Waupaca Foundry employee throughout the visit.
3. Visitor must be at least 12 years of age.
4. No photographs or other video imagery is allowed without specific authorization from Waupaca Foundry management.
5. Visitors are required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times in the plant.
a. Tight fitting goggles or gasket type seal safety glasses (tight fitting) are required throughout the plant.
b. Open toed shoes, sandals, and high heels are NOT permitted in the plant.
c. Steel-toed shoes are required in all production areas, with the exception of designated walkways.
d. Hearing protection is required in all areas of the plant.
e. Review department specific requirements with your host prior to entering.
f. Visitors entering the Hot Zone must have additional training. This does not include visitors that will be staying on the designated
walkways in the hot zone. Fire Resistant visitor jackets will be provided for those visitors entering the Hot Zone areas.
6. Be aware of emergency signals, evacuation routes, and shelter areas posted throughout the plant. In the event of an emergency, follow the
directions given by your host or plant security.
7. Emergency Procedures:
Evacuation – In the event of a plant evacuation, an alarm will sound.
All employees, contract workers and visitors shall leave the building immediately.

Contract employees and visitors shall report to the Guard House and remain there until an All Clear has been announced.

Take Cover – Severe Weather: The alarm for take cover is: (An alert announced over the plant radio).
At Plant 7L - Take cover in first floor restrooms and locker room, break room, and distribution sand pit area.

8. Be alert for all vehicle traffic. You will be sharing the aisles with forklifts and other production vehicles. Use designated walkways when
possible and be aware of moving vehicles and material handling equipment. Always look in both directions when entering any aisle way or
intersection.
9. You will be entering a manufacturing facility. Please practice basic industrial safety principles:
a. Never walk beneath or near suspended or raised loads.
b. Do NOT walk beneath our Hot Metal Carriers.
c. Do not enter areas that are posted or barricaded.
d. Observe and obey all signs and warnings.
e. Be alert for floor hazards, moving conveyors, spills and trip hazards.
f. Avoid interfering with production activities.
g. Use designated pedestrian doorways vs. overhead doors.
10. Smoking is not allowed in our Facilities but is allowed in designated areas outside of our facilities.
11. You must have documented approval before bringing any hazardous materials on site.
12. Waupaca Foundry, Inc., (Owner) prohibits drugs, alcohol, or the carrying of firearms or other dangerous weapons inside this facility.
13. For safety and quality you must not touch parts unless instructed to do so.
14. Confidentiality – All visitors shall treat as confidential information obtained, in any manner, during their visit, and may not freely disseminate
this information without Waupaca Foundry’s consent.

EMERGENCY NUMBERS:
Contact your host in case of emergency.

Violation of these rules will result in immediate removal from our plant.
