together in classrooms
● We also offer subject acceleration in the area of math if the child meets the
criteria.
● Provide more in-depth study
● Teachers are trained in the best instructional strategies and strategic
differentiated instruction
● Resources provided for teachers, such as: Books, Byrdseed, videos, specialized
training
● Byrdseed: Differentiated lessons, challenging projects and information about the
unique social and emotional needs of gifted learners.
Departmentalizing:
Preparing your child for Middle School
● Ms. Main- Math and Social Studies
● Mrs. Peters- Language Arts and Science
● We get to know all students in the grade level and
differentiate instruction in order to provide an education
that is rich in the core knowledge philosophy
● The 6th grade curriculum is very intense, and
departmentalizing allows each of us to bring our
expertise to the subjects and provide your child an in
depth education that is challenging and rewarding
● Each teacher has equal ownership with the students
● The variety will keep students more engaged
throughout the day
● Allows for students to bond with more than one teacher
and prepare them for middle school

School Wide Rules
Be Respectful, Responsible, Safe and
Resourceful
Communication Forms
◦ Minor Forms = Communication
Minor forms are given to communicate with parents. It is
not a discipline form. Minor forms are given when
students need reminders, and when the
behavior/habit/action can easily be corrected with help
from their supportive team (parents and staff). PBIS is
proactive, and we will be proactive as a team.
◦ Major Forms = Discipline
Major forms are discipline forms. This is when a
behavior/habit/action hasn`t stopped after plenty of
support, or the behavior was unacceptable (example:
cheating on a test).
Parents are Valued Partners
