Garrido
PhD, DNP, ANP-BC, FAANP, FAAN
Dr. Jacinto Garrido has had a distinguished 26-year career as a Captain and advanced
practice nurse with the United States Public Health Service, stationed with the
Department of Justice and Department of Homeland Security. His career with the
government positioned him to develop national and global health care programs in
coordination with domestic and foreign health officials. In pursuit of developing these
programs he visited 6 of 7 continents and 65 countries.
Dr. Garrido received his Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and Master of Science in
Nursing (MSN) from Florida International University, his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)
and
Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Florida Atlantic University. He is a Fellow of the
American Association of Nurse Practitioners and American Academy of Nursing. He is
a board certified adult nurse practitioner, adjunct faculty at FAU, and a healthcare
consultant.

Bob Dent
DNP, MBA, RN, NEA-BC, CENP, FACHE, FAAN – Nurse Leader
Bob Dent is the senior vice president, chief operating and chief nursing office at Midland Health
in Midland, Texas. He maintains academic appointments with Texas Tech University Health
Sciences Center and the University of Texas of the Permian Basin.
Dent has nearly 30 years of health care experience as a registered nurse, licensed nursing home
administrator, chief nursing and chief operating officer and dean of the health sciences center at
a community college. Before joining Midland in 2007, Dent was the chief nursing officer for
Banner Health’s Sterling Regional MedCenter in Sterling, Colorado.
Dent is president of the American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE) and previously
served as past chair of the AONE Foundation Board of Directors, member of the board of
directors for AONE and Texas Organization of Nurse Executives.
Dent is the recipient of many awards including the Nursing Management’s 2016 Richard Hader
Visionary Leader Award, the Texas Organization of Nurse Executives Excellence in Leadership
Award and the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center Distinguished Alumni Award for his
leadership.
Dent earned his doctorate from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center and his Master of
Business Administration/Health Care Management degree from the University of Phoenix. He
holds a certification in executive nursing practice through the AONE Credentialing Center and
designation as a nurse executive advanced-board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing
Center. Dent is a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives and the American
Academy of Nursing.
