TEXT FOR MC POETRY RECITATION COMPETITION

Good morning ladies and gentlemen, the ceremony would be start shortly.

Ladies and Gentleman, we are here today for the

Poem Recitation Competition of Hulu Perak District Level.
As a start, now I would like to invite our honourable judges to take their
seats.

First, let me introduce to all of you the judges for today’s

competition.

RULES AND REGULATIONS

Before we proceed further this afternoon, do allow me give a brief

explanation on this competition.

1. This competition is open to students of lower secondary schools.

2. This competition is open to students of government-aided secondary

schools from Form 1 to Form 3 only.

3. Each poetry Recitation team comprises 2 members from the same

school.

4. The competition is divided into 2 section:

 5. A Section 1: Prepares Poem

- Participants will recite a prepared peom on given themes for not less
than 5 minutes and not more than 7 minutes.

- A bell will rung at the 7th minute to indicte the end of the presentation
time

6. Section 2: Impromptu Poem

- All participating teams will be given a theme and a quarantine time

of 10 minutes to prepare their impromptu peom.

- The time allocated for the recitation of the impromptu poem is not
less than 2 minutes and not more than 3 minutes.

- Bell will rung at the 3rd minute to indicate the end of the presentation
time.

7. The poem must be entirely authentic and original and must never have
been published or have won a prize in any other competition. The text
of the poem will be based on themes decoded by the organizers.

8. Materials presented must not touch on sensitive issues, such as race,

religion, stereotyping, politics etc.
