ConfigINI User Guide 4 of 14

1. Overview
ConFigINI application is used to configure Fee Computers, Pay Stations and DP2500 for
general operations along with the calculation and receipt headers, footer data for exit stations
are configured. The application establishes connection with the devices, transfers (download
and upload) the files with the settings and can also reboot following a download
The initializing files (INI) load the required information to the station(s) and enable the
communication with other devices, calculate the fees and perform many other functions.
Please refer to the Rate Programming Manual for details on the “Pay Station Rates” portion.
The ConfigINI application always opens with the default settings. If you save the default
parameters, they will affect the overall performance of a station. It is important to follow the
suggested steps in the “Configuration procedures” section.

The configuration can be done through drop down menus, check boxes and editable fields.

Important information
The application always opens with the default settings! While editing the
configuration fields you can omit important and already applied
functionality. A better practice is to receive the current INI files from the
station and modify them.

4. Configuration Procedures
The following sections describes all the steps required to configure common and specific
parameters of the equipment

4.1. Choose Equipment Type

You can click upon the “Fee Computer/Pay Station” label

to evoke the menu and choose the type or click upon the
corresponding icon from the group outlined in red.

4.2. Receive files first

You need to click upon the down arrow or choose from File->Receive to obtain the
equipment’s current files.
Step 1 : Position upon one of the stations found and tick its check box, otherwise the
“Receive” button will continue to be disabled. If you have only one station of the type,
the check box will be missing, but you still have to position upon its row.
Step 2 : Check the box for the files to receive
Step 3 : Click upon “Receive” button to load the selected files into the ConFigINI
application
The received files have to be saved in the ConfigINITemp folder as the INI file including
additional text detailing the date, time, station and “RCVD”

4.3. Opening files
Use the button to open the default or previously saved, received or sent files.

4.4. Saving Files

Use the button to save files. The button does not activate until a change has been made to
a loaded file.
Files opened from the Management station will overwrite the opened file.
Files received from a station will open the Save as dialog.

4.5. Sending files to stations

Use the button to open the Send dialog after editing the necessary fields..

Feecalc.ini and Paycalc.ini with time-line conditions must be

sent using the ConfigINI application.
Note
 Restart No ##
When the row is selected and this box is checked, ConfigINI will send the files to the station
and then send a re-start command. The changes take effect if the station re-starts to load the
new settings.
Tick the check box next to the file name if it has to be send.

4.6. Pay Station only - Deactivating Devices
In order to determine the cause of a fault, a pay station may require deactivating the
suspected faulty device from the pay station configuration.

The most efficient method to do this is from the Management Station ConfigINI application.
Each device has a page with the name on the tab with a check box to indicate the presence of
the device.

Receive the settings from the Pay Station and select the necessary page to view the
configuration. Remove the tick from the presence option.

Send the changes to the Pay Station with a restart command.

The above instructions refer to Bill Acceptor, Bill Dispenser, Coin Acceptor, Coin Hoppers,
Smart Card Readers/Magnetic Card Readers (at the Insert Readers Port page), EMV Card
Readers.

4.7. Command changes at the Pay Station/Fee

Computer
Sometimes it is easier or more practical to perform the command changes at the station using
a bootable flash. This method should be applied if we have TCP communication.

Prepare the compact flash memory card by

 Format if necessary and make it bootable as described in DP7XXX Installation

manual;
 Copy and save on the flash drive the INI files;
 Plug the flash drive into Control box and push the restart button.

The following menu is displayed after the restart:

Press “1” or ”2” to edit the corresponding INI files.

Press “B” and the built-in editor will open the file to edit the number of Fee Computer/Pay
station and the Server IP address.
