• In India, over 10 lakh new cases of cancer are diagnosed  every year.
However, due to late diagnosis, over 7 lakh people die from the

cancer and over 8.8 lakh deaths due to the disease by 2020.
• More than 1 million new cases of cancer occur each year in India with
over 80% presenting at stage III and stage IV.

provide comfort.
•Palliative care can begin at diagnosis,
and at the same time as treatment.
•Hospice care begins after treatment
of the disease is stopped and when it

number of tourists giving the overall local markets a tremendous
opportunity to flourish. The result will be in the form of much needed
revenue to the people and the state.

• location – mullanpur, punjab
• The proposed site is situated on the outskirts of
chandigarh. the site enjoys the backdrop of shivalik hills
and has the famous river ghaggar flowing at the rear side.
MEDITATION RETREAT CENTRE
Introduction
• As the demands of people are increasing from various spheres (job,
home, relationship, friends etc), the stress levels are also going high.
This is true for everyone. This is specially true for people in the corporate
world where the race is to achieve more and more with less time.
• The more responsibility you have in life, more is the need for meditation.
If you have nothing to do, you may not need meditation as much -
because you have nothing to do. The busier you are, the less time you
have, more work you have, more desires you have, ambitions you have -
all the more you need to be meditative. Because meditation not only
relieves you of stress and strain, it enhances your abilities to face
challenges.
I strongly feel Mediation is required in this changing/demanding world. In the corporate
world it is even more required for obvious reasons. So there is definitely very good scope
for Meditation Retreat centre.
•Inner peace, patience and happiness
•Improves quality of life
•Brings control over thoughts
•Helps in reducing stress and controlling anger
• CLIENT BRIEF
• The extremely scenic site overlooking small hillocks is located 35 kms from Indore
in the outskirts of MHOW (Madhya Pradesh).
• Both the client and his wife are spiritual people practicing yoga and meditation.
• The brief for the site was to design a meditation centre.
• It is believed when one meditates under a pyramid built at a specific angle of 51
degrees the energy concentrates at the apex of the pyramid and the benefits of
such meditation are manifold.
• The site area is approximately 5600 sq.ft and the requirement was to build 3
pyramids where people could stay and meditate and a small pantry area.
