I. Introduction
A hopper control is an apparatus for opening and closing the doors of a
hopper vehicle comprising: a source of fluid power, flow control means including
a door opening control valve and a door closing control valve, each in
communication with the source of fluid power, selector means having an inlet in
communication with said source of fluid power, a pair of outlets, and position able
means for selectively communicating said inlet with each of said outlets,
respectively, in response to operation of said control valves, motor means in
communication with the outlets of said selector means for opening and closing the
hopper doors in response to pressurized fluid in each of said outlets from said
source of fluid power actuatable means operatively connected with the respective
control valves of the flow control means for selectively.

A solenoid valve is an electromechanical device in which the solenoid uses

an electric current to generate a magnetic field and by this means operate a
mechanism which regulates the opening of fluid flow in a valve. A single solenoid
valve has one solenoid and shifts when voltage is supplied to that solenoid. When
voltage is removed, it shifts back to a "home" position

II. Objectives
a. To be able to Design an indirect actuation from two different position on
the PLC system using the CoDeSys software.
b. To be able to design a similar program that satisfy the required of the given
problem.
c. To be familiarized with the operation and sequence of the PLC which
interprets the software
III. Problem Description

Bulk material is to be emptied from a hopper. By pressing a

pushbutton switch, the hopper is opened and the bulk material is emptied
out. By pressing another pushbutton switch, the hopper is closed again.

IV. Procedure

1. Set the program in CoDeSys by creating a new file, choosing the FESTO
CPX-CEC/CPX-CEC-C1, type of POU (Program Organization Unit) and
use the Program and Ladder (LD) respectively, and configuring the plc to
be used by appending 8DIN/8DOUT [VAR] PLC.
2. Set how many Inputs and Outputs to be used in the PLC from the settings.
Which consists of 8DI/8DO.
3. Set up two inputs and output in the program by addressing it to the input
and output address of the PLC. For input address (PB1) %IX2.0 and (PB2)
%IX2.1 is used and (Y1) %QX0.0 and (Y2) %QX0.1 for the output.
4. In this experiment K1 and K2 is has no adressed which will be the
compiler and the PLC as a relay.
5. Construct a diagram of the system diagram of the system using indirect
function, setting PB1 to Y1 and PB2 to Y2.
Test the program for errors by simulating it first. Go to Oline tab click
simulation mode then login and run.
6. If the program runs correctly, then it is ready to be uploaded to the PLC.
7. Set-up the network configuration of the computer used by expiditing its IP
adress to 198.162.2.X,( X )note can be from any number except 50 for due
to by default 50 is being use by PLC already.
8. Connect the PLC to the computer using a ethernet or lan cable.
9. Then upload the program now to the PLC by unselecting the simulation
mode then login and search the conneted plc and select it now the program
is uploaded into the PLC and will excute the command even with out the
computer connected.
10. Then execute the program turn on the PLC make sure its all connected
from the main poweer supply and turn the knob of the PLC and make sure
the air service unit knob is on. Then push the buttons that satisfies the
problem.
