• “Lamed” l is the 12th letter in the center of the Aleph Bet
and is considered (with the “Kaf”) to be the heart of the
Hebrew Aleph-Bet.
• “Lamed” l generally means learning and Shepherd’s staff
and relates to a Shepherd in relation to sheep. The sheep
“kaf” k follow the shepherd “lamed” l and learn from
Him, (best green grazing fields).
• The original meaning of “lamed” was: ‘to sting, to prick,
incite, goad,’ as a Shepherd might prod the sheep to
perform an action. The ancient pictograph is that of a
shepherds staff or goad, representing His authority.

• In Hebrew, if you spell out the word “lamed,” it is “lamed-
mem-dalet” dml, which comes from the root word “lamad” dml
meaning: * TO LEARN * TO TEACH * BE TAUGHT * BE TRAINED
• “Lamad” is 1st found in Scripture:
Deut 4:1-2 Now, Israel, hear the decrees and laws I am about
to teach you. Follow them so that you may live and may go in
and take possession of the land YHVH, the Elohim of your
ancestors, is giving you. 2 Do not add to what I command you
and do not subtract from it, but keep the Commands of YHVH
your Elohim that I give you.
➢ “Lamed” is first and foremost to teach and to learn about YHVH’s
undefiled Word and Commandments, represented by the “Mem” m in the
center.

• “Lamed” l is the tallest of all the letters in the Hebrew
Aleph-Bet and is the only letter that “rises above” all the
other letters and is seen as the “Melekh HaMelakim” or
‘King of Kings’. We know Him as our Shepherd and King,
Y’shua HaMassiach, the King of Kings.’
• The two letters on either side of the “lamed,” when you read these letters
from L – R (looking from the physical), are “mem-lamed-kaf” ;lm, which
make up the word “malakh” meaning: KING, TO REIGN; INCEPTIVELY, TO ASCEND
THE THRONE; CAUSATIVELY, TO INDUCT INTO ROYALTY, TO TAKE COUNSEL.
➢ “Lamed” l, the center letter, represents the King and your interaction with
the King of Kings will allow you to be “inducted into royalty,” so that you can
“ascend,” becoming a son or daughter in the Household of YHVH.

• The “lamed” with the two letters on either side, reading it
from R-L, “kaf-lamed-mem” ,lk, creates the word “kalam”
meaning: SHAME, HUMILIATE, BLUSH, BE ASHAMED.
➢ “Lamed” is the center letter, represents the Shepherd or King
and the “mem” , on the left, represents the Word.
➢ Coming from the physical sinful nature (Left), you first encounter the “mem”
, or Word, then the “lamed” l or Shepherd/King. This is an humbling yet
humiliating experience, not worthy to come into His Presence.
➢ The “mem” (Word) and “lamed” (Shepherd) allows you to enter the
Household of YHVH “kaf” k, and you them become part of the “collective
hand” or Body of Messiah.

• “Lamed” l is the tallest letter in the Aleph-Bet and
deemed the only letter that extends and reach the
higher Spiritual dimension where YHVH is.
• “Lamed” l represents Jacob’s Ladder where YHVH
revealed Himself to Jacob bin a powerful dream,
revealing access to the Spiritual higher dimension.
• The only way to reach beyond the physical, into the
Spiritual, is to connect through the Lamed (ladder).
➢ Y’shua the Messiah represents the “Ladder” and the “Lamed” and He is
the only Way man can “ascend” from a lower Physical state, into the
Spiritual and be transformed into a “higher being” just like Adam was
prior to the fall of man.
 Lamed, the12th Letter
Number 12 is mentioned numerous times in Scripture and Creation
▪ 12 Sons of Jacob becoming the 12 Tribes of Israel
▪ 12 Stones on the Breastplate of the High Priest
▪ 12 Disciples served under the leadership of Master Y’shua
▪ In the Book of Revelation, the Kingdom of YHVH has 12 Gates
guarded by 12 Angels.
▪ 12 months of the year and 12 Star Constellations.
▪ 12 hours of daylight and 12 hours of darkness in a defined day.
▪ There are 12 Feasts in Scripture: 7 Main Feasts, 2nd Passover, 2
additional Shavuot’s, one delayed Sukkot (Hanukkah) and Purim.
➢ “Lamed” and the number 12 is connected to The Kingdom, to the Priesthood, YHVH’s
People and to those Who learn (Talmidim – Disciples) and the One Who Teaches (Y’shua).
➢ 12 is also connected to Gates (judgement), to Angels and to Stars as well as time.
 Lamed the12th Letter
▪ 12 is made up of two words “shenayim-asar” ,yns rsi - the
base of ten (asar) and the number two (shenayim)
▪ “Shenayim” ,yns means: TWO, DUAL OR PAIR (the same but
different, as in hands, feet, male and female).
▪ The root word of “shanayim” is “shani” yns meaning ‘second’:
- Gen 1:2 describing Day two of Creation where YHVH created
the Firmament which contains the starts in heaven.
- On the 4th Day He Created two similar, but different heavenly
bodies as a pair; namely the Sun and the Moon to rule time.
➢ Time is a ‘layer’ that exist above our three dimensional world through which we must move
to access the higher realm of the Spiritual outside of time.
➢ The Firmament is a higher medium separating the Physical and the Spiritual, which contains
the heavenly bodies which makes time possible.
➢ The Appointed Times / Sabbath are the means to “connect” to the Spiritual while still be in
the physical world – we should learn (l) what these Appointed Times teach (l).

 Y’shua and the “Lamed” l
• “Lamed” dml starts with the letter l that represents the Shepherd
and the ‘King of Kings,’ Who is Y’shua the Messiah.
• The other two letters (dm) represents Y’shua as well - He is the Door
(dalet – d) and He is the Word in the flesh (mem – m).
• From this word picture we see that He is Master Teacher (Rabbi), d l

will the ruined cities be filled with flocks of people. Then they will know that I am YHVH.
 Body of Messiah “Lamed – Kav-Vav”

• The letter “Lamed” can be constructed by combining the letters “kaf” k and “vav” v.
• Adding up the value of “kaf” (20) and “vav” (6) = 26, which is the same value of YHVH.
➢ Lamed dml represents Messiah Y’shua = “kaf-vav” = 26 = YHVH

YHVH’s People, also known as the Bride of Messiah, is depicted by Hadassah or the
myrtle, as well as the story of Esther and Her preparation to come before the King.

The Myrtle (Myrtus) is of one or two species of flowering plants in
the family Myrtaceae, native to southern Europe and North Africa.
They are evergreen shrubs (consistant) or small trees (humble).
The leaves are entire, 3-5 cm long, with a pleasantly fragrant
essential oil (presence and anointing of YHVH’s Spirit).
Petals are usually white (holy or righteous), with globose blue-
black berries (bearing fruit of the Spirit) containing several seeds
(Word of YHVH). Insects pollinate the flowers, and the seeds
dispersed by birds that feed on the berries (Interact with people in
the world – Fruit & Seed).
