Beedie School of Business: Application to TA for Fall 2018 opens


June 25, 2018 and closes on July 9, 2018
Conditional upon enrollment, the Beedie School of Business is planning to hire Teaching Assistants,
TA/Markers, Markers or Open Lab Assistants (shortened to ”TA” for the sake of brevity in this
posting) for the following semester courses:

Teaching Assistant Qualifications:
• Demonstrated expertise specific to the course content.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, including leading discussions and en-
couraging questions.
• Excellent time management and lecture-tutorial content coordination skills.
• Keen to assist students and the ability to provide constructive written or oral feedback
on students’ work.

• Must be available for: lectures, tutorials, office hours, invigilation & marking of midterms
and finals, where applicable.
• Experience in an on-line learning environment using WebCT, NetMeeting or Canvas.
• Familiarity with MS Word and Excel.

TA/Marker Qualifications:

• Demonstrated expertise specific to the course content.


• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Keen to assist students and the ability to provide constructive oral and written feedback
on students’ work.
• Must be available for: lectures, tutorials, office hours, invigilation & marking of midterms
and finals, where applicable.
• Experience in an on-line learning environment using WebCT, NetMeeting or Canvas.
• Familiarity with MS Word and Excel.
100 Marker Qualifications:

• Demonstrated expertise specific to the course content.


• Excellent written communication skills.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Strong ability to provide constructive written feedback on students’ work.
• Must be available for marking of assignments, midterms and finals.
• Experience in an on-line learning environment using WebCT, NetMeeting or Canvas.
• Familiarity with MS Word and Excel.
101 Open Lab Assistant Qualifications:

• Demonstrated expertise specific to the course content.


• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent time management.
• Keen to assist students and the ability to provide constructive written or oral feedback
on students’ work.
• Must be available for: lectures, labs, office hours, invigilation & marking of midterms
and finals, where applicable.

Where and how to get your Advising Transcript


1. Go to go.sfu.ca and login with your SFU Computing ID
2. On your student center page (click Home button) find Academics section
3. In Academics Section, find Academic History subsection and click on Advising Transcript but-
ton. That would lead you to Advising Transcript page
4. On Advising Transcript page, click GO button. That would lead you to View Previously Re-
quested Reports page
5. Wait for 60 seconds
6. Click Refresh button located on top of the web page
7. In the View Previously Requested Reports table, click View PDF in the most top record. The
pop up screen with your transcript will appear
8. Save .pdf of the your Advising Transcript
9. Do NOT upload the Unofficial Transcript as this does not show the same information
