 Mission Offerings – A mission envelope was sent home today and may be brought back
anytime this week.

 Spelling Words – This week is a review unit. The lessons review the spelling patterns
and words from units 1-5. We will not have a pretest! The final test on Friday will
consist of 25 random words from units 1-5.

 Tests – On Thursday we will have a Spanish test on unit 6.

 Midterm – Last week marked the halfway point in the 1st quarter. If you have any
questions regarding your child’s grades, please contact me.

 Book Orders – Scholastic book order and software order forms were sent home today. If
you are interested in ordering anything, please be sure to send the form(s) back by this
Friday, October 8th. NO CASH will be accepted! Make checks out Scholastic Books.
Please attach your check to the form with a paper clip or in an envelope or ziploc bag.

 Drop-In Conferences – This Tuesday, October 5th, from 5:00-7:00 p.m., all Apostles’
teachers will be on campus. If there is anything you would like to discuss with me
regarding your child’s progress or if you have any other questions/concerns, please stop
by the 4th grade classroom for a brief conference. Please note: I have volleyball
practice until 5 p.m., so I won’t be able to meet until 5:15.

 Field Trip – If you have not returned your child’s field trip permission form for the
Oakland Zoo, please be sure it’s turned in with payment by tomorrow (Tuesday).

 Harvest Celebration – This Friday, October 8th, from 6-9 PM, is Apostles’ Harvest Fest.
Invite friends to come with you so they can check out our campus and join in the fun,
games, candy, and music. The cost is only $4 per child and $1 per adult!

 WELS Volleyball Mixer – This fun event will be held this Saturday, October 9th.
Thanks to those 4th graders that signed up to participate!

 Fun-Raiser” – Next Tuesday, October 12th, from 5:00-8:00 p.m., you are invited to help
support our school and get to know Apostles’ friends and neighbors at Sweet Tomatoes
(on Bernal). Apostles will earn 20% of the meals purchased. In order to qualify, your
purchase must be accompanied by the official flier. A flier was sent home last Friday. If
you need another one, please pick one up in the school office.

 Wildlife Associates Assembly – Next Wednesday, October 13th, at 9:30 AM there will
be a Wildlife Associates Assembly in the church entry way. The whole school will be
attending this assembly and parents and other church members are invited to attend as
well.

 Collaboration Day – Next Friday, October 15th, classes will dismiss at noon due to a
collaboration afternoon for the faculty.
