Because of the information Technology (IT)revolution and its

impacts in our daily lives,success or failure of an individual rests on
computer literacy;one of the digital age literacy.Exponential growth in
the demand for competent human resources in IT sector worldwide has
created enormous opportunities but majority of people in Nepal do not
have access to IT. I think with computer literacy,individuals can face the
challenge of the information age and sustain anywhere in the world.
Technological literacy is thus seen as representing a competitive edge
in an increasingly globalizing job market.

This book is designed for the students who do not have the
basic concepts of computer application. It has its genesis in the need to
learn computer by self and to meet the needs of students, teachers,and
academic institutions helping them to learn and teach the basic of
computer in easy steps. A conscious choice has been made to keep the
book as simple as possible without compromising on the quality.

The primary aim of this book is to lead the learners to a point

where they can begin to function competently and thoughtfully so that
it becomes the starting point and obviously a milestone for their
technological growth. The book is not intended as an end in itself but
the beginning of a process of learning. Moreover,the book aim to
accomplish the desire of the students and teachers of computer studies
using simple, easy-to-understand language.
