TCHH call drop

Description: BSC sends CLEAR REQUEST to MSC to clear the current connection when any
of the following cases take place: 1) Handover procedure fails due to various causes after MS
accesses the allocated Full rate TCH; 2) After the conversation has already set up on Full rate
TCH, call drop occurs due to various causes.

Measurement point: This item is measured in the following procedures, when the channel type
is "Half rate TCH", and the service type is voice or data.
1) After MS seizes the channel, BTS sends ERROR INDICATION to BSC due to connection of
radio link layer abnormal, and the cause of abnormal is timer T200 expired (N200+1) times
(0x01), unsolicited DM response, multiple frame established state (0x05) and sequence error
(0x07). This item is measured when BSC receives this message. See "GSM 0858".

2) After MS seizes the channel, BTS sends CONNECTION FAILURE INDICATION to BSC
due to radio link failure or hardware failure (see GSM 0858 for details). This item is also
measured when BSC receives this message.

3) This item is also measured in incoming BSC traffic channel handover procedure, when the
target cell waiting for HANDOVER COMPLETE times out.

4) This item is also measured in outgoing BSC traffic channel handover procedure, when the
source cell waiting for message of handover complete and resource clearance message CLEAR
COMMAND times out (T8 expiry).

5) This item is also measured in intra BSC traffic channel handover procedure, when the target
cell waiting for HANDOVER COMPLETE times out.

6) This item is also measured in intra BSC traffic channel handover (non Direct Retry handover)
procedure, when the source cell waiting for HANDOVER COMPLETE times out.

7) If both BSC and MSC support forcible seizure, then the calls of low priority may be robbed
off the radio resources by the calls with high priority, thus call drops occur.

8) This item is also measured when RSL of the TRX of the channel disconnected.

Formula: None.

TCH call drops (caused by channel)

Description: This item measures the times of call drops after TCH seizures due to message
decoding failure at air interface or radio link broken

Measurement point:
1) BTS detects TCH radio link failure or hardware link failure, and sends CONNECTION
FAILURE INDICATION to BSC to indicate that call drop happens at the air interface due to
radio link connection failure. This item is measured when BSC receives this message.

2) BTS sends ERROR INDICATION to BSC due to TCH radio link layer connection
abnormal so as to notify BSC the call drop at air interface due to radio link failure. This item is
measured when BSC receives ERROR INDICATION (cause: timer T200 expired (N200 + 1)
times (0x01), unsolicited DM response, multiple frame established state (0x05), sequence error
(0x07)).

3) In the procedure of BSC internal outgoing inter cell handover, this item is measured
when waiting for the Internal Handover Complete message times out.

4) In the procedure of outgoing inter BSC handover, this item is measured when waiting for
CLEAR COMMAND with cause of handover success times out.
