Pattern Notes
Cable Cast-On:
Step 1: Make a slip knot, leaving a short tail, and place it on the left-hand needle.
Step 2: Knit into the slip knot, leaving the slip knot on the left-hand needle.
Step 3: Slip the new stitch back to the left-hand needle knitwise.
Step 4: Insert the needle between the 2 stitches on the left-hand needle and wrap yarn
around.
Step 5: Pull a new stitch through and slip new stitch onto the left-hand needle.

Repeat step 4 & 5 until you have the desired number of stitches for your project.

Dividing stitches for DPNs:

If you’re more comfortable using double pointed needles for your hat, divide your stitches
evenly between 3 double pointed needles.

Dividing stitches magic loop:

If you’re knitting your hat using magic loop, you’ll divide your stitches so that half are on the
first needle and half are on the second needle.

Charts:
Charts are read from right to left throughout the pattern as we are working in the round.

Glossary:
• K: Knit.
• K2tog: Knit 2 stitches together.
• P: Purl.
• S2tog-k1-p2sso: Slip 2 stitches
together knitwise, knit 1, then
pass slipped stitches over.
• Yo: Wrap the working yarn over
the right needle, from front to
back (counter-clockwise).
