Objectives of the Study

General Objective
The main objective of this study is to design and develop a Computerized Enrollment System in order to
lessen the workload of the cashier personnel and to make the enrollment procedure faster.

Specific Objective
Specifically, the study aims:

1. To design and develop a computerized enrollment system that will replace the manual process.
2. To generate reports faster and more accurate.
3. To prevent or minimize the loss of records.

Beneficiary of the Project

Cashier Personnel – the computerized enrollment system will make their work faster and more accurate
and it will generally lessen their workload.
Students – the computerized enrollment system is really intended for the students, it will provide them
the quality services they deserve.
System Features:
Student Module – this module is for student information, it allows you to add new record, edit or update
the existing record and delete the record of the students.
Year Level Module – module for encoding and updating of year level information.
Sections Module – this will allow you to add, update and delete records of class sections. In this module,
you can set how many students are allowed to enroll in a certain class section.
School Year Module – module to add, update and delete school year.
Assessment Module – it is the module for fees, you can set a certain fee to a certain year level or set it
to all which means that it is for all levels.
Enrollment Module – this will allow you to enroll a student to a certain year level and class section. The
summary of fees for the student will also be reflected on this module.
Payment Module – this is the module for payment of students, the students can view their total payment
and their balance.
Report Module – produce a report on the enrollment list for every year level and class section.
Other features:
Back-up and Restore of Database – this is a very important module. This will allow you to create an
exact copy of the original database for backup purposes. The recently database backup can be restored
to replace the original database in case a database error occurs.

We all know that visual basic will only run on windows platform. This is a version of the system which will
only run on windows operating system. The database is ms access or mysql.

Web or Online Enrollment System

An online application that will run on any operating system. The system is a browser based application
that runs on a browser (chrome, firefox, safari, etc.). PHP and MySQL is the development tools used.

Computers are already seen everywhere at work, at school, and at home. Daily activities
either involve the use of or depend on information from a computer. This maybe because
computers are used in almost every field and profession like education and office works to
perform large number of computer related work. Computerization is a control system that
manages processes in industrial workplace. It reduces human errors and processing time,
thus it can boost productivity that results into high quality of product. In information
system, computerization is concerned about interrelating different but interdependent
transactions. This can result in a system with well-integrated processes that can perform
much faster and more accurate than the manual system. This can result in a system with

system. In the field of education, researchers and theorists have focused intensively in
recent years on examining the concepts and use of information in to assist administrators,
teachers, students and parents. Schools, like any other organization used to manage all
sorts of data and information to ensure attainment of its goals and objectives. The
emerging needs in most schools for accurate and relevant data and reliable information
strengthen the student information. According to Forman (2007), in his article “New
Research Perspectives on Mobility, Organizations, Systems and Technologies,” continuing
innovation in technologies can lead to organizational changes that range from
improvement of day-to-day operation and for easy access it provides for the end users.
Many schools today have adapted this innovation in the offering of their services. Online
registration system allow students to register through the internet, eliminating or reducing
problems with traditional registration systems, such as long lines, paper forms and
troublesome wait lists Online registration system is very essential in a school. Just like in
the case of Asian Learning Center where to utilize the use of a manual. The school used
manual system in recording and retrieving student’s information. On the other hand,
registrar’s office also used manual system as a way of recording and retrieving student
information. Above the researcher’s observation, human interventions will highly involve
in this type of system. As a result, this may involve errors and duplication of data resulting
troubles in organization. Inspired by the online registration services, the researchers came
up with an online enrollment system for the Asian Learning Center. The school has
adapting the K to 12 which means that the 1st year, 2nd year, third year and fourth year
are now called as Grade 7, Grade 8, Grade 9, Grade 10 and Grade 11 and Grade 12 is
known as senior high School. The study considered the prevailing process of the school
and this process can be modified to have a more efficient and effective enrollment system.
One of the factors considered in designing the proposed system is the lack of manpower to
accommodate all enrollees. The tedious task of filling out the application form and the
inaccuracies of information provided by the students are also considered. These factors
cause enrollment delays, which is disadvantageous to the enrollment personnel and the
enrollees. Since the study involves proper records handling, tracing the constraints and
evaluation of the manual system is essential. Thus, the researchers gathered data necessary
in the enrollment system, which is designed to benefit the schools, teachers, and students
and especially school administrators and faculties as well because they can access and
manage information directly and conveniently.

The main objective of the study is to develop an online registration system of Asian
Learning Center.

Specific Objectives
 To create an online registration for enrollees of Asian Learning Center.
 To develop an accurate and easier way of registration for the students of Asian
Learning Center.
 To Generate reports needed for enrollment
 To provide a user friendly enrollment website in managing enrollment of old students,
new student and transferees.

Scope and Limitations

Scope
The Online registration system is a portal type that covers the major processes in the
registration system, namely registration and enrollment of students and file maintenance
such as list of enrolled students in different year levels in public high schools.
Administrators have total access to the system, view students records that are
officially enrolled and generate or print records of the students, search student
profile information and viewing subjects of each level of any grade.

Limitations
The system does not cover the computation of student’s grades, class scheduling, viewing of
teachers and paying of fees. Not accepting any online payments. It can only operate for
high school enrollment purposes. It can’t show the schedule of time of the subjects per year
level.

Significance of the Project

The significance of the study would justify the need to conduct the study. It specifies the
group of people who will benefit from the study. Students. The study will help students to
be knowledgeable enough on entering the information technology fields as applying the
lectures to actual performances and to inform them of an easy way of registration. It will
give them also a background and become more advance and be familiar on having a new
way of registration. Faculty. In this proposed system, it will help them to lessen their work
and less time consumed in handling the enrollment process for the students. It helps them
to minimize the effort and time exert in terms of gathering the data or information of the
students. Administrators. The result of this investigation would serve as a benchmark for
them to make an easy on handling the student records during the enrollment. It will help
to lessen their work and help them also to have a fast way of enrolling students as well as in
securing student information. Future Researchers. This study would serve as a handy
reference for the other researchers who would embark on a similar study in the future
especially on certain aspects not derived into by the present study.

Every school gain competitive advantage of having this system for they will have the capacity on
handling important information at ease and with security. The iterative implementation approach is a
theory that eliminates problems of using a waterfall study. This is invented to avoid a linear and
sequential development of study. The overall functionality of the system is broken down into feature sets.
These features sets often based upon use cases from the analysis stage, containing group of individual
features that are related, typically by a functional area. (Stephen McHenry, 2010)
Inspired by the advancement of modern technology and the problems regarding enrollment transactions
the proponents have come up with an online enrollment system exclusively for school with many
enrollees. Several factors are considered in designing the proposed system. First is the tedious task of
filling out application forms and inaccuracies of information provided by the students that cause delay on
the enrollment process. Other is that there were problems on giving and announcing schedules of
enrollees and cause for them to be late at their very first class.

Colegio de San Antonio de Padua is privately managed, but their computerized enrollment system is slow
and the students are having hard time waiting and standing in front of the cashier’s and registrar’s office.
The purpose of this case study is to update the current enrollment system of Colegio de San Antonio de
Padua, which is easy to perform any transactions on their business.
This study aims to determine the performance of the current enrollment system of Colegio de San
Antonio de Padua.
The findings of this study served as the basis for a Proposed Online Enrollment System.
Specifically the study sought to answer the following questions:

de Padua: Proposed an Online Enrollment System” will provide a high technology way of retrieving and
managing student’s data. The study will be a great help to the following:

The creation of the computer made the easier to accomplish that by doing it manually, to have the direct
access on straightforward answer just monitoring record where in the needs of computer make possible
for everyone to get data in a particular need. We can consider that the computer is necessary and its

Project Design
The sampling of descriptive survey method of researchers was used for the study. The main concern of
the study was to understand the current enrollment process of Colegio de San Antonio de Padua and have
a clear picture of more efficient and less effort enrollment process.
Population
The respondents of this study were composed of 3 admin staffs namely the Registrar, Accounting,
Student’s Account Officer and the 92 students of Colegio de San Antonio de Padua.
Locale of the Study
CSA is located at Guinsay, Danao City near Ramon Durano Foundation. This is a tertiary school
established on 2004, which offered courses like Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Midwifery, BS in
Criminology, Education programs, Engineering courses, Office Administration, Travel Management,
Information System and also the TESDA programs.
Data Instrumentation
The researchers used the following method to gather information or data. Researchers make the use of
survey questionnaires to gather data regarding the performance of the current enrollment system of
Colegio de San Antonio de Padua. Researchers printed 95 questionnaires that are answers the questions
about the study.
Data Analysis
Data gathered will be interpreted according to the following hypothetical measures.

simple mathematical computation was used to find the percentage.

SUMMARY
This study was designed to describe Colegio de San Antonio de Padua’s current enrollment system needs
and do something about it.

The study aimed at creating a system that would provide another option for enrolling and that would
compensate for the school’s lack of manpower and time-consuming system. The proposed enhancement
of the existing Enrollment System for is going to be a computerized Enrollment System.

The proposed system will decrease the number of manpower, space, and timeneeded for enrollment. The
system will not only give the school the benefit of being ableto cut down the money and time spent for
the enrollment. It also includes thecomputerized processing of transactions needed for the business.

CONCLUSION
The enrollment itself can be considered as a problem for the students. From evaluation to validation, it is
a long process, and students have to go back and forth in different offices (accounting, registrar,
chairman) to complete the enrollment procedure. It can be tiring and such a waste of effort for them. The
current enrollment system in Colegio de San Antonio de Padua for the students is not that functional,
accurate and reliable. Students need a system that will lessen the process of enrollment on the said school,
but still with comfort.

The researchers conclude that the Online Enrollment System in Colegio de San Antonio de Padua will
lessen the burden of enrollment process on the side of the students. This will also save the effort of the
students falling in line for different offices in order to be enrolled for the semester. The system can also
shows information about the school including the courses it offers and the activities for the year.
RECOMMENDATIONS
Based on the findings and conclusions and conclusions of the study, these are the following
recommendations made for the future researchers:

1. The design of the developed system must be enhanced and modified.

2. The developed system must be added with some features such as class scheduling and generation of
fees to be more complex and functional.
3. The resolution of the interface must be flexible.
4. The system must be put online.
