Pastor’s Remarks

Dear Church Family,

We are in the middle of those “lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer”, as
the song goes. We have many folks who are away on vacation, but
thank you for being faithful with your attendance and financial giving
when you are in town.
We had a group of youth who just finished a week at “Super Summer”
camp at Lake Yale. They had a great week, with several of them
making commitments to our Lord. A special thanks to Ron and Tina
Scali, who gave the week to accompany them. Please continue to
pray for all of them.
We voted last Sunday evening, at the business meeting, to proceed
with the replacements of the damaged roofs and the vinyl/aluminum
from the hurricane damage last September. When we compare the
cost of the repairs with the amount we have on hand, we are going to
be about $15,000 short. Would you pray about giving something
toward that need, above your regular tithes and offerings, so that we Inside this issue:
can get it finished as soon as possible?
Some of you may not know, but a couple of months ago Joel and
Amber Campos, along with Mike Harney, began to meet and pray, Pastor’s Remarks

then began a home Bible study for young adults. Now they have
allowed me to be part of the group. We have been averaging about
fifteen people and have outgrown the Campos’ home (a good Awana 2

problem). Pray for that ministry. That is a great example and a model
for the rest of us.
