GUIDELINES
BY;VIRNALISI C. MINDAÑA
ABSTRACT

• should be no more than 300 words and at the most a page long (font size 12, single
spacing). Provided preferably on a separate page, it should summarize all the central
elements of the protocol, such as the rationale, objectives, methods, populations,
timeframe, and expected outcomes.

LITERATURE

• RESEARCH OBJECTIVES
• STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
• STATEMENT OF THE HYPOTHESIS
• THEORITICAL AND CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK
• RESEARCH PARADIGM
BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

• specifies the reasons for conducting the research in light of current knowledge. It should
include a well-documented statement of the need/problem that is the basis of the
project, the cause of this problem and its possible solutions, it puts the proposal in
context. It should answer the question of why and what: why the research needs to be
done and what will be its relevance. It should be followed by a brief description of the
most relevant studies published on the subject.
RESEARCH OBJECTIVES

• Specific objectives are statements of the research question(s). Objectives should be

simple (not complex), specific (not vague), and stated in advance (not after the research is
done). After statement of the primary objective, secondary objectives may be mentioned.
STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM (SAMPLE)

• Is the produced bioplastic from water hyacinth have higher resistance to breaking rather
than other polyethylene plastics when subjected to tension using improvised spring scale
tester?
HYPOTHESIS

• There is no significant difference between bioplastic made out from water hyacinth and
polyethylene plastics in terms of durability through improvised spring scale tester.
THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK

• The theoretical framework maybe formulated based on the review of related literature
and studies
• Is a tentative explanation or theoretical explanation of the problem or phenomena that
serves as a basis for the formulation of the research hypothesis
