Course Descrip on:    
Geometry is an extension of the concepts taught in Algebra 1. Geometry topics focus on quan es, 
congruence, similari es, transforma ons, right triangles, circles, geometric proper es with equa ons, 
measurement, modeling with geometry, and probability.  
 
Rules and Expecta ons: 
1. Be here and be ready to par cipate. Come to class prepared. 
2. Be considerate and kind: keep objects, including hands and feet, to yourself. Treat others 
kindly. 
3. Please remember to keep your phones, tablets, and/or laptops put away unless otherwise 
asked to have them out for an ac vity, and that only water is permi ed in the classroom (no 
food, no gum). Thank you! 
4. Raise your hand and wait to be called on to speak and par cipate. Do not shout out answers 
or ques ons without permission. 
 
All school policies concerning dress code, a endance and tardies will be followed.  See the student 
handbook or the school website for more details. 
 
Consequences: 
Standard consequences will apply: warning, move seat, yellow card (deten on), contact parent, refer 
to administra on. I have confidence that we can work together to resolve any issues before they 
become serious. 
 
Grading Policy: 
10% ‐ Homework (graded on accuracy, not solely comple on) 
20% ‐ Classwork 
50% ‐ Tests and Quizzes 
20% ‐ Midterms and Finals 
 
Materials:   Students who are successful bring their materials EVERY DAY 
We’ll use the items in the standard school supply list, addi onal supplies needed for this class:  
1. 5 subject college ruled spiral notebook 
2. Graph paper 
3. Scien fic Calculator able to get at least two lines of text on the screen. (TI‐84 Strongly 
recommended) 
 
 
Class Structure: 
Class will be a tradi onal format.  Students will take notes and do prac ce problems with me, and 
par cipate in discussions.   
 
Homework : 
Homework is an essen al part of a math class. Expect homework  every day , to help with their 
learning.

My class website is  alajasoninfalt.weebly.com .   It will include class updates, an assignment calendar, 
and other key informa on to help you be successful.  The course syllabus is posted on the website for 
your future reference. 
 
Late work .  
Late work will be accepted with reduced credit. We will deduct 20% each day it is late for 3 days. 
(80%, 60%, 40%) You will need to show your work for comple on.  If you are absent you need to look 
on your course website for your assignments.   
 
Communica on: 
Grades.   All grades are updated at least once a week.   Students and parents should check grades 
o en using infinite campus. I am available a er school each day by appointment.  Check your Course 
Website for more informa on.  The best way for parents to reach me quickly is by email. If you have
