Purpose This document describes how to Install on site an Evolium® DC indoor A9100
BTS of the ALCATEL BSS.

Audience This document is intended for:

The site must comply with the ” Safety rules ” of the General Wiring
Handbook ”
The site must be ready to receive the racks, according to SPP 34

The equipment is delivered packed on site with associatedkits

The antenna feeders need not to be installed before starting.

2.1 Before Leaving for the Site

Check that the prerequisites are satisfied See Prerequisites (Section 1.3) .

3.2 Rack Unpacking


Procedure 1. Unpack the rack
2. Check the delivery
3. Verify the type of rack and serial number of the rack
4. Report any damage to the equipment on the carrier delivery note.

3.3 Reversing the Rack Door (If Necessary On Site)

The BTS door is factory-fitted on the right (i. e. the door opens from left to right).

Procedure 1. Remove the door (1) with its hinges (2) (See Figure 6)
2. Remove the two bars (4), (6) and the part (3)
3. Reverse the latch (5) and fix the two bars (4), (6) in the right place
4. Fix the door to the left side of the rack
5. Connect the earth link to the door and to the top left of the rack
6. Remove the reversed labelling (no Alcatel labels) (See Figure 6)
7. Remove the orange line label.

Procedure 1. According to Information Required (Section 1.8) , mark out the rack’s
position on the floor
2. Position the rack
3. Adjust the height of the feet with a 20 mm open-ended wrench
4. Level the rack.

This chapter describes the procedure to:

Install power cables in the cable tray

Connect the earth cable to the site side

Connect power cables on the BTS side


Connect DC power cables on the site side.

Before making any electrical connections to the BTS, ensure that the safety
instructions are followed.
It is essential that:

The electrical power supply is disconnected. Ensure that all switches or


fuses devoted to the new BTS in the site connectin box are switched OFF

The protective EARTH must be connected to the equipment before DC


power cables are connected.
