A mean is the statistical average of a group of numbers. In order to find the mean, we must add up the sum of the numbers in our set and
then divide that sum by the amount of numbers in the set.

In this case this is the average of all the 10 innings that is

Mean = sum of ( 9+42+43+49+37+88+36+0+0+0)/No of innings ( 10)

Mean = 304/10 =30.4

Mean =30.4 which is the average score scored by De Villiers in his last 10 innings

The median is the number directly in the middle of a set of numbers, after they have been arranged in numerical order. (Note: the number
will be halfway into the set, but is NOT necessarily the mid-value between the largest and smallest number.)

Innings list (9,42,43,49,37,88,36,0,0,0)

In numerical order ( 0,0,0,9,36,37,42,43,49,88)

Since there is an even set of numbers , the two numbers at the halfway stage ( 36,37) have to be considered.

Median =Average of (36,37) =(36+37)/2 =36.5

The mode is the number or numbers in a set that repeat(s) most frequently.

Innings list ( 9,42,43,49,37,88,36,0,0,0)

Number which repeats frequently is “0”.Hence “0” is the mode

Consistency of system of equations by graphical method :

5 pencils and 7 pens together cost Rs 50 and at the same time 7 pencils and 5 pens together cost Rs 46

Let the cost of one Pencil : “x”

Let the cost of One Pen : “y”

Therefore 5 X x + 7 X y = 50

5x + 7y = 50 ------------------1
Similarly 7 X x + 5 X y = 46

7x + 5y =46 ---------------------2

From 1 : 5x + 7y =50

Therefore 5x = 50 -7y and x =(50-7y)/5

Substituting values :

When y=0, x =(50-7(0))/5 =10

When y=5, x=15/5=3

When y=10, x = -4

x 10 3 -4
y 0 5 10

Similarly 7x +5y =46

x= (46-5y)/7

When y= -2 , then x= 46-((5(-2))/7=8

When y=12, then x =46-((5(12))/7=-14/7=-2

x 8 -2
y -2 12
