ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

This research would not have been possible without their utmost support and help

all throughout the year. They have been our inspiration to make this research project

outstanding.

To Engr. Mariezol V. Ballesteros, our kind adviser, you have supported us and

corrected our papers without fail. You showed your determination to help us even with all

our faults and mistakes as a researcher. With your guidance, we are now more

knowledgeable in developing a research project.

To Prof. Noel De Asis, even though you are not our professor for this subject, you

gave us your time in correcting our diagram and ensuring that our prototype will work.

To our families, we would like to thank you for your endless support emotionally,

mentally and financially. You have helped us go through our ups and downs. Even if you

have a lot of problems, you still made us your main priority.

And most of all, our utmost thanks to our Lord God. He had made this research

possible and made this research a pathway to face new challenges in college.

ABSTRACT
iv

Every century, different inventions were immerging and one of those was electricity. But
energy sources are slowly deteriorating and to stop further consummation of energy
sources, alternatives to electrical sources were discovered. One of the alternatives was the
discovery of the principle of electromagnetism. The main objective of this study is to
apply the principle of electromagnetism to the mouse pad in which minimal movement of
the mouse with incorporated magnets will convert mechanical energy to electrical energy
and the converted electrical energy will be stored in a power bank like. The mouse pad
was constructed with coils of magnetic wire turned 200 times and incorporating it with
magnets to develop a magnetic field. A PCB was used for the field of the magnets and an
acrylic plastic sheet was placed over the magnets. Minimal movement of the mouse can
generate up to 1 AC volt. Based on the gathered data from the evaluators, it is concluded
that the device accumulated a total of 3.895 rating and can be deduced as very acceptable.
The device can perform all the operations indicated in the objectives.
