Labelling, Collection and Transport of Other Body Fluids

Case Problem:

A urine was submitted and the request was for urinalysis and urine culture. But the medtech on duty run it first for urinalysis before urine culture.

Do’s:

- Always check the request before running a test.


- Always prioritize urine for urine culture to prevent contamination.
- Make sure collection of the specimen is sterile.
