Project Description : The Salma dam project is located near Chist-e-Sharif in Herat Province in
Afghanistan. It is a multi-purpose project on river Hari-rud. The project
envisages hydropower generation with an installed capacity of 42 MW
(three units of 14 MW each) and irrigation of 75,000 hectares. A 107.5 m
earth and rock fill dam would be constructed to divert flow towards
powerhouse located on the right bank downstream of dam.

Project Description : The Myntdu Leshka Hydro Electric Project (2 x 42 + 1 x 42) MW is a Run
Off River (ROR) Scheme, located at the Jaintia Hills District of the State of
Meghalaya. The project envisages construction of the 63 meters’ height
dam across the Myntdu River, just below the tri junction of its two other
tributaries, the Lamu and the Umshariang. The impounded water is to be
conducted to the Power House through a 3313.46 meters’ long and 3.4
meters’ diameter HRT, a 314 meters’ long HPT and 731.25 meters long
Penstock.

II Project on Wangchu river in Western Bhutan, has been conceived to
utilized available 800 m head to produce annual energy of 3692 GWh and
1020 MW of peaking power. Project consists of 92M high concrete gravity
dam a head race tunnel 22.97km. long and 6.8m dia, underground Power
House (206mx44.5x19m) to accommodate, 6 nos. generating units of 170
MW each. Coffer dam, diversion tunnel 6.8 m dia, de-silting basin 3nos.
each of size ( 250m x 13.90m x 18.50m ),Two nos. of pressure shaft of 4m
dia and 1.10 km long /penstock 2.3m dia, underground transformer

long, switchyard.
