Application for Admission to Undergraduate Studies
(First Degree, Diploma and Certificate Programmes) September 2018 Intake

Applicants MUST read the instructions carefully before completing the ‘Application for Admission to the “Postgraduate and Undergraduate
Studies’. Please note that ONLY ONE application per applicant would be acknowledged and processed.
1. Applicants must be 16 years old on or before September 1st of the year in which they plan to start the programme.

2. The deadline for the submission of applicants to the programmes listed below is Saturday 30th June, 2018.

3. Applicants can ONLY apply online at www.u.tt/apply or access our online service at any of our Registry Admissions offices listed below. The
application fee is waived for online applications. Applicants who successfully complete and submit the online application will be sent an
acknowledgement receipt via email.

programme etc.

* Applicants who wish to upload their relevant documents MUST scan and save the documents either in PDF or TIF format. Applicants are
asked to exercise care when scanning and sending documents and to ensure that all documents are legible. (The University retains the right to
reject any documents that are not in the prescribed format).

5. Applications without the relevant supporting documents will be considered incomplete and will not be assessed.

8. ALL UTT programmes are GATE approved for Trinidad and Tobago Nationals. Applicants who are Trinidad and Tobago citizens wishing to
access GATE funding to cover university tuition MUST register for the GATE E-Service at any of the Ministry of Tertiary Education and Skills
Training (TEST) satellite locations listed on their website www.e-gate.gov.tt OR dial 800-GATE for additional information. Please be advised
that the GATE E-Service registration should be completed in order to access GATE funding at UTT.

The University of Trinidad and Tobago is inviting applications for the following undergraduate programmes in:

AVIATION

Certificate in Aviation Technology


Description:
The programme is designed for new persons who wish to enter the aviation industry, primarily in the area of aircraft maintenance and support services,
ground handling and ground support as well as airport ancillary operations. This certificate is also designed to provide a platform for students to
articulate into higher level aviation programmes including Diplomas and Bachelor degrees in Aircraft Maintenance and Management.

Programme Venue: Mode of Delivery and Duration


Aviation Campus, Camden and Point Lisas Energy Campus Full-Time only: One (1) Year

Entry Requirements:
• Passes in at least five (5) subjects at CSEC (CXC O’Level) General Proficiency (Grades I and/or II and from 1998, Grade III)
or GCE ‘O’Levels, which must include Mathematics, English Language and Physics.

In addition all students will be required to obtain the following:


 Police Certificate of Character

Mature Student Entry

An applicant who does not satisfy all the stipulated minimum academic or technical qualifications for admission to the Programme may be
accepted for special admittance as a Mature Student. He/she would need to possess
 at least three years’ experience within a related technical environment
 Police Certificate of Character.

The applicant would be expected to undergo an interview process to ensure that he/she will fit the criteria for entry into the Programme.

Bachelor of Science in Aircraft Maintenance and Management

Description:

The Bachelor of Science in Aircraft Maintenance and Management, scheduled over 48 months, full-time study and requiring 144 credits for graduation,
includes a full syllabus of Trinidad and Tobago Civil Aviation Authority (TTCAA) AMEL content in either Airframe and Power plant or Avionics
Modules both Fixed and Rotary wing. This programme is designed to meet the requirements of the BCAR Section L as well as being aligned with the
EASA / JAR 66 Syllabi Modules.

Graduates of the Certificate in Aviation Technology programme may choose to continue their studies and training towards the attainment of a
Maintenance License and an Undergraduate degree by undertaking this programme in either a Mechanical or Avionic strand.

Courses in Management, Decision Making, Accounting, Economics, Strategic Thinking, Statistical Analysis, Entrepreneurship, Quality Management,
Customer Service, Aviation Law, Airport and Airline Operations as well as Organizational Theory and Behavior, will embellish the AMEL content.
Candidates successfully completing this programme will therefore be equipped with the requisite knowledge and competencies that will enhance their
abilities as aircraft engineers, supervisors and middle managers. They will also be uniquely positioned to further their development with postgraduate
studies.

 Passes in at least two (2) subjects at Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examinations (CAPE) subjects (Units 1 and 2) including
Mathematics and Physics plus General Paper or Caribbean Studies and Communication Studies

 Applicants may also have a relevant NEC/NETD Technician Diploma.

 The UTT Certificate in Aviation Technology (CAT) with a GPA of ≥ 3.5, and two years of relevant Aviation Industry

experience.

Professional Entry Route:


 Applicants who already possess AMEL licenses can apply for entry to the programme and complete the requisite credits in
management and selected technical courses to obtain the Bachelor of Science

In addition, all participants must obtain a Police Certificate of Character to be considered for entry into the programme.

Mature Student Entry:


An applicant who does not satisfy all the stipulated minimum academic or technical qualifications for admission to a programme may be
accepted as a Mature Student. He/she would need to possess the critical elements of the stipulated qualification and would be assessed by
the UTT Programme Head as possessing a combination of qualifications and educational or experiential maturity to enable him/her to
successfully participate in the programme.

Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical and Airworthiness Engineering (BSc AAE)

Description:

The BSc. Aeronautical and Airworthiness Engineering programme offers two (2) technical areas of specialisation in fixed and rotary wing technologies:

i. Airframe and Powerplant (Mechanical)


ii. Avionics Engineering

The programme is structured to include the complete set of TTCAA/EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency) regulated Aircraft Maintenance
Engineers (AME) courses for each area of specialisation. A key element of the programme construct is the inclusion of engineering courses grounded in
mathematics, science, and design as well as ethical and environmental conscientiousness. It includes aeronautical engineering courses in structural
design, materials selection, flight mechanics modelling, aircraft performance, stability and control, simulation, automation and testing of aircraft and/or
components for return to service

These when combined with the regulatory technical content of the AME, will prepare graduates to function in engineering design, investigative, repair,
continued airworthiness and overhaul functions in Aviation Maintenance and Air Operator Organizations.

Students will be exposed to modern workshops and live aircraft activity on the University’s in house Boeing 727-200F and Sikorsky S76A++ fixed and
rotary wing aircraft.

On successful completion of all technical and general engineering courses in years one to three of the programme, students can become eligible to sit the
TTCAA/EASA Examinations to obtain the Aircraft Maintenance Engineer License (AMEL) with some industry experience which is built into the
programme construct through its Co-op courses.

Aviation is a robust and growing industry sector that provides global reach and richness in job prospects. This programme provides students with the
knowledge and skills sought after by aviation company’s worldwide.

Entry Requirements:

The admission requirements are in accordance with the University’s Regulations for admission
to undergraduate BSc. programmes and require the following:

Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examinations (CAPE) Levels 1 and 2 or GCE A-Levels in the following subjects: Mathematics and either Physics or
Chemistry or any other Science subject, Caribbean Studies and Communication Studies or General Paper and CSEC (CXC O’Level) Chemistry and
Physics; Or
Relevant NEC Technician’s Diploma; Or
Relevant NETD/HNC/HND Technicians’ Diploma

Mature Student Entry:


An applicant who does not satisfy all the stipulated minimum academic or technical qualifications for admission to a programme may be accepted as a
Mature Student. He/she would need to possess the critical elements of the stipulated qualification and would be assessed by the UTT Programme Head
as possessing a combination of qualifications and educational or experiential maturity to enable him/her to successfully participate in the programme; Or

Professional Student Entry:


Professional student with two (2) categories of the ICAO Type II Aircraft Maintenance Engineer License may be accepted into the programme with
credit exemptions for the licensure syllabi content which will be determined by a faculty committee.
Professional applicants to this programme may be granted credit exemptions based on prior certified and experiential learning in accordance with
University Policy AP015 entitled “Admission with Credit” as approved by the Board of Governors on May 01, 2015; Or

International Student Entry:
Applicants from the global market will be evaluated on submitted qualifications and educational achievements using internationally and locally accepted
evaluation of education standards through the ACTT, QAIE and UTT International office.

BIOSCIENCES, AGRICULTURE AND FOOD TECHNOLOGIES

Certificate in Food Technology (January, May and September 2018)

Description:
The Certificate in Food Technology is designed primarily to contribute to the achievement of Food Security in Trinidad and Tobago by providing
industry with highly motivated and skilled persons trained in Food Technology. The use of local materials within the food value chain would be
encouraged, in addition to the development of the capacity to maintain safe foods and to protect consumers from substandard products and food borne
illnesses. Some of the courses are: Introduction to Food Technology, Culinary Arts, Public Health & Food Safety and Food Workplace Practices.
Students will also acquire practical skills through capstone projects and Internship Industry attachments.

Programme Venue: Mode of Delivery and Duration:


ECIAF Campus Full Time only: One (1) year
Valsayn or other available Campus Part Time only: One and a half (1 ½ ) years (Evening)

Entry Requirements:
 Passes in a minimum of five (5) subjects at CSEC (CXC O’Level) General Proficiency in Grades I or II and from 1998, Grade III or
equivalent GCE O’Levels including Grades A, B or C inclusive of Mathematics, English Language, Chemistry and/OR;

 Persons from Industry with other suitable combinations of qualifications such as Caribbean Vocational Qualifications (CVQs) level one (1) in
Agro Processing will be considered.

Mature Student Entry:


An applicant who does not satisfy all the stipulated minimum academic or technical qualifications for admission to the programme may be accepted as a
Mature Student. He/she would need to possess the critical elements of the stipulated qualification and would be assessed as possessing a combination of
qualifications and educational or experiential maturity to enable him/her to successfully participate in the programme.

Diploma in Food Technology


Description:
The Diploma in Food Technology is the only programme of its kind in Trinidad and Tobago. It is unique in that it covers all aspects of the food chain
from production systems to value added agro and food processing in order to produce high quality, safe, nutritious foods with the consumer needs in
mind. It provides students with unsurpassed practical, hands-on skills in the areas of agro and food processing, food safety and food analysis and sensory
evaluation. Graduates can function as Entrepreneurs, Food and Beverage Service Supervisors or Technicians in areas of: Quality Assurance, Quality
Control, New Product Development, Laboratory, Food Safety, Production and Processing.

ECIAF Campus Full Time only: Two (2) years (With the Completion of the Certificate in Food Technology: One (1) year
Valsayn Campus
Part Time only: Three (3) years (Evening) (With the Completion of the Certificate in Food Technology:
Two (2) years

Entry Requirements:
 Passes in a minimum of five (5) subjects at CSEC (CXC O’Level) General Proficiency in Grades I or II and from 1998, Grade III which must
include Mathematics, English Language and a Science subject (Physics, Chemistry, Integrated Science, Agricultural Science or Biology).
Agricultural Science, double award, is considered as two subjects; OR
 GCE O’Levels including Grades A, B or C in Mathematics, English Language, Chemistry and Physics; OR
 Completion of UTT’s Pre-University Programme (PUP) with a minimum of 50% in ALL attempted subject areas.
 Completion of UTT’s Certificate in Food Technology Programme; OR
 Persons from the industry with suitable combination of qualifications such as the Caribbean Vocational Qualifications (CVQ) in Agro-Food
Processing will be considered; OR
 Applicants may be interviewed.

Mature Student Entry:

Bachelor of Science in Food Science and Technology


Description:

The Bachelor of Science in Food Science and Technology was designed to be the catalyst for capacity building in the Food and Beverage and Agro-
Processing sectors of Trinidad and Tobago and the Caribbean. This exclusive programme comprehensively imparts a wealth of knowledge while
molding students to become future entrepreneurs and was designed to improve key aspects of the Food Value Chain with training in the areas of: -
postharvest technology, food product development, quality assurance and current good manufacturing practices, food laws and regulations, food safety,
food and nutrition, novel technologies and packaging. Practical industry-type experience will be gained through internship, capstone and innovative
incubator projects.

This programme provides a solid core of knowledge and training in Food Science and Technology, as well as unique electives in nutrition and dietetics
or public health and food safety to contribute to human health, food safety, food security and sustainability.

Potential Careers and Employment Opportunities:


Graduates can expect to be gainfully employed in the Food and Beverage Industry, Manufacturing Agencies and Research and Educational Institutions

 Full Time only; Three (3) years – completion of UTT Diploma in Food Technology (2 1/2 years)
 Part Time only; Four (4) years – completion of UTT Diploma in Food Technology (3 years)

Entry Requirements:
 Required Passes in Biology and Chemistry at GCE A’Levels or CAPE levels I and II, General Paper or Communication Studies along with
passes in CAPE 1 and II in Food and Nutrition would be an asset. Applicants must also possess a minimum of five (5) subjects at CXC
(CSEC) General Proficiency or equivalent GCE O’Levels inclusive of Mathematics, English Language, Chemistry and Biology. CVQ’s, NEC
and Technical Vocational certification will be considered.
 A UTT Diploma in Food Technology or other equivalent Diploma or an Associate Degree in Culinary Arts or related discipline.
Mature Student Entry:
An applicant who does not satisfy all the stipulated minimum academic or technical qualifications for admission to the programme may be accepted as a
Mature Student. He/she would need to possess the critical elements of the stipulated qualification and would be assessed as possessing a combination of
qualifications and educational or experiential maturity to enable him/her to successfully participate in the programme.

EDUCATION

Certificate in Early Childhood Care and Education


Description:
The Certificate in Early Childhood Care and Education programme is designed for persons to gain qualifications at the Certificate level which would
provide them with the required competencies to support young children’s development and learning.

The programme also allows for progression from the Certificate to Degree, as students who successfully complete the Certificate programme can
matriculate and receive credit towards the Bachelor of Education degree – Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) specialisation programme.

Corinth and Valsayn Campuses ONLY Part Time only; One (1) year

Entry Requirements:
 Passes in a minimum of five (5) subjects at CSEC (CXC O’ Level) General Proficiency in Grades I or II and from 1998, Grade III or equivalent
GCE O’Levels including Grades A, B or C inclusive of Mathematics, English Language and a Science subject; OR
 Mature Entry
- Introductory Early Childhood Care and Education from an accredited ECCE Institution
- A Combination of relevant experience and qualifications

N.B. Must be in possession of a Police Certificate of Good Character (or produce a copy of the Official Receipt for a Police Certificate of Good Character
pending the submission of the certificate).

ENGINEERING

Certificate in Applied Engineering


Description:
The Certificate in Applied Engineering (CAE) programme is designed for persons who are interested in qualifying for entry into the UTT engineering
diploma programmes. It is intended to provide secondary school students who do not have a full CSEC (CXC) or GCE O’ Levels certificate, persons who
hold a full craft or pre-technician certificate and mature students, an entry route to embark upon a career in engineering. CAE is also a terminal
qualification, for those who do not wish to continue for the Diploma.

However, depending on student enrolment at any campus and/or availability of infrastructure (instructors and laboratory) decision may be taken to
discontinue the programme at any campus during an academic year and offer students the choice to be admitted at an alternative campus available.

Mode of Delivery and Duration:


 Full Time; One (1) year, Two (2) semesters
 Part Time; Two (2) years, Four (4) semesters

Entry Requirements:
i. Passes in a minimum of three (3) subjects CSEC (CXC O’Level) General Proficiency level in Grades I or II and from 1998, Grade III or GCE
O’Levels including Grades A, B or C or equivalent in Mathematics, English Language and a Science subject (Physics or Chemistry or Integrated
Science) or Technical Drawing or Additional Mathematics.
 Persons possessing Full Craft/Pre-Technician certificates such as the National Examination Council (NEC) and the Trinidad and Tobago
National Vocational Qualification (TTNVQ) with Mathematics, English Language and a Science subject (Physics or Chemistry) or Technical
Drawing.
 Other suitable combination of qualifications and/or experience will be considered.

Applicants who do not meet standard academic requirements but have commensurate work/life experience and are over the age of twenty-five
(25) years may be required to attend an interview in order to determine suitability.

Note: Having the minimum requirement does not ensure acceptance.

Certificate in Process Operations

Description:
The Certificate in Process Operations (CPO) programme is intended to prepare graduates for Operator positions particularly in processing- type
industries. Over a one-year period (full-time), students undertake courses in communication, life skills, mathematics, engineering science, chemistry,
health, safety and the environment. These support more applied courses such as operations theory and processes, industrial processes, utilities and
associated equipment, auxiliary systems, process upsets and troubleshooting and a process operations lab course where among other skills students gain
experience in plant startup and shut down.

 Full Time; One (1) year
 Part Time; Two (2) years

Entry Requirements:
i. Passes in at least five (5) subjects at CSEC (CXC O’Level) General Proficiency (Grades I or II and from 1998 Grade III) or GCE ‘O’ Levels inclusive
of Mathematics and English Language (A science subject such as Chemistry or Physics will be an asset)
OR
ii. Completion of any of UTT’s preparatory or bridging programmes such as the Certificate in Applied Engineering (CAE), Pre-University Programme
(PUP), Pre-Engineering Programme or Transition programme with ≥50% in ALL attempted subject areas
OR
iii. Other equivalent qualifications as UTT may consider appropriate.

Mature Student Entry:


An applicant who does not satisfy all the stipulated minimum academic or technical qualifications for admission to a programme may be accepted as a
Mature Student. He/she would need to possess the critical elements of the stipulated qualification and would be assessed by the UTT Programme Head as
possessing a combination of qualifications and educational or experiential maturity to enable him/her to successfully participate in the programme.

National Engineering Technician Diploma


Description:
The National Engineering Technician Diploma (NETD) programmes are designed to create well-rounded technicians with a strong educational
foundation and industry-relevant skills and competencies. Graduates who meet the programme matriculation requirements may apply for admission into
any of the UTT’s Engineering Bachelor degree programmes.

NETD Programmes in:


1. Chemical Engineering Point Lisas, San Fernando and Valsayn Campuses ONLY
2. Civil Engineering John S. Donaldson and San Fernando Campuses ONLY
3. Petroleum Engineering Point Lisas or San Fernando Campuses( dependant on application numbers)
4. Electrical/Electronic Engineering John S. Donaldson, Point Lisas and San Fernando Campuses ONLY
5. Mechanical Engineering John S. Donaldson, Point Lisas and San Fernando Campuses ONLY
6. Instrumentation Engineering Point Lisas Campus ONLY

Mode of Delivery and Duration:


Full Time; Two (2) years and Part Time; Four (4) years

Entry Requirements:

Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) / Master of Engineering (M.Eng.)


Description:
The Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) degree is a full honours engineering programme that prepares students for careers as professional engineers,
locally and internationally. The first year is common to all programme options and is offered at the O’Meara and San Fernando campuses only. Students
specialize from the second year and would need to attend classes at the campus that offers the specialisation. The Master of Engineering (M.Eng.)
programme requires an additional year after the completion of the BASc programme.

Programme Options:

The Professional Certificate in ICT for Teachers was developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Education. The programme is intended for
teachers of Information Technology (IT) / Computer Science / Computer Studies in the secondary school system who are classified as Teacher II
(TII) and who wish to be upgraded to Teacher III (TIII) upon successful completion of the programme. The programme also seeks to improve and
enhance the teaching ability of the target group.

and effectively. This Certificate in Applied Maritime Operations is targeted to those who wish to pursue a career at the Support Level as Deck or
Engine Room Ratings and Able Seaman on board ships trading in the Caribbean and International Waters.

(IMarEST) of the United Kingdom.

Description:
The Certificate in Indian Classical Music (Sangeet Prathama) is an undergraduate programme that provides educational artistic enrichment and
training in Indian music. The programme aims to provide a creative and intellectually stimulating environment in which students can acquire the
basic elements of local and Indian Classical music and to further develop their performance skills and pursue advanced studies. Students will be
exposed to Vocal, Harmonium and Tabla and will also learn the concept of ‘Raga’ (specific sound compositions) and Taal (rhythmic cycles). Music
Performance and related areas of artistic development and performance form a part of this course.

Description:
Through extensive hands-on training in real-world environments, the Certificate in Music Technology programme prepares students for successful
careers in Music Production, Audio Recording and Engineering, Post-production, Theatre, Concert and Festival Sound, Forensic Audio and
Archiving, among others.

The programme offers students the opportunity to take charge of recording and mixing sessions across various genres of the Caribbean and other
music; to experience posting audio for film, television and video games; to learn the skills necessary to provide a quality sonic experience for live
concerts and multimedia theatre events; all this, utilizing the latest professional digital audio equipment and software, as well as classic analog
technology.

The University has also partnered with the world leader of innovation and design Apple on creating the Apple Authorized Centre for Education

Description:
The Certificate in Pan and Music Literacy curriculum has been designed to introduce the basic elements of professional pan playing and music
literacy for potential professional musicians in the Caribbean. The programme offered by The University of Trinidad and Tobago aims to introduce
technical training to students who want to develop their skills, be more knowledgeable in music and become encouraged enough to pursue a Bachelor
of Fine Arts programme in Music. In this programme, students develop the required skills through the practical application of key concepts and
principles of ambidextrous pan playing.

The Certificate in Pan and Music Literacy is a one (1) year programme of study comprising thirty-six (36) credits, where a strong foundation in
practical training and basic elements of Music Theory is established. The students would be taught the following aspects of Music: Practical, Sight-
Reading and Ear Training.

On completion of their studies at this level in Pan and Music Literacy, students with the appropriate academic qualifications will be able to
successfully pursue advanced studies in their desired areas of interest.

Artist Diploma in Music Performance

Description:
The Artist Diploma in Music Performance is an undergraduate programme that provides educational artistic enrichment and training in music with
the academic faculty and staff of the Academy for the Performing Arts. This programme aims to provide a creative and intellectually stimulating
environment in which students can acquire music literacy and further develop their performance skills. Individual instruction in Principal Applied
study, Ensemble Performance, theoretical courses in Music Theory and Sight-Reading and Ear-Training are offered in this programme. Other courses
offered include Caribbean Music, Psychology of Music Performance, and Seminars on the essentials of artistic interpretation and strategies for peak
performance.

Full-time students register for courses totalling fifteen (15) credits for each semester over a period of two (2) years. Part-time students register for a
minimum of nine (9) to twelve (12) credits per semester which is expected to be completed within three (3) academic years from the first day of
instruction.

strengthen the Caribbean identity towards confident artistic expression of Caribbean culture. Foundation courses in the Performing Arts are
supported throughout by discipline-specific courses necessary to develop the artist’s core craft. Students entering their third year may choose a
specialization pathway or take a multi-discipline elective-based pathway to a BFA in the Performing Arts. The BFA programme includes courses

Description:
The Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) in Criminology and Public Safety aims to deal with the expansive, complex and specialized nature of
crime and criminality. As communities expand, as the industrial sector grows, and as public concerns over safety become more intense, there is a
need to improve the relevant skills in the security industry and in law enforcement. The main focus of a traditional Criminology programme is the
scientific study of the nature, extent, causes, and control of criminal behaviour in the individual and in society. However, this programme is distinct
as it offers a wide range of practical content and skills that are industry-driven. The Public Safety component of the B.A.Sc. offers a mixture of
theory and practice, which deals with the prevention of and protection from events that could endanger the safety of the general public – quite
important issues affecting Trinidad and Tobago and the wider Caribbean today.

 Passes in two (2) CAPE subjects (Units 1 and 2) or GCE A’ Level subjects plus General Paper or Caribbean Studies and Communication
Studies; OR
 Applicants must also possess CSEC (CXC O’Level) General Proficiency in Grades I or II and from 1998, Grade III or equivalent GCE
O’Levels including Grades A, B or C in Mathematics and English Language; OR
 Diploma in Security and Public Safety, UTT; OR
 Combination of other equivalent academic qualifications / work experience may also be considered; OR

 Qualified workers from professions such as teaching, law, probation, police, prisons, fire, judiciary and business will be considered; OR

 Advanced Standing

Students with advanced standing will be awarded appropriate exemptions and transfer of credits, as determined by an appointed committee
or Programme Head. This would be awarded to those students who satisfied all requirements for the Diploma in Security and Public Safety,
with a minimum CGPA of 2.5, as they would have completed all of the first year requirements for the B.A.Sc.; OR

Mature Student Entry:
An applicant who does not satisfy all the stipulated minimum academic or technical qualifications for admission to a programme may be accepted as
a Mature Student. He/she would need to possess the critical elements of the stipulated qualifications and would be assessed/interviewed as possessing
a combination of qualifications and educational or experiential maturity to enable him/her to successfully participate in the programme.

SPORTS

Certificate in Sport Studies


Description:
The Certificate in Sport Studies programme includes theory, practical and service learning experiences intended to provide meaningful and relevant
education for students that promote and encourage a general understanding of Sport and its allied fields. The modules will introduce students to
scientific and psycho-social sport-related principles and concepts in educational, competitive and community settings.

Programme Venue: Mode of Delivery and Duration :


Corinth Campus Full Time; One (1) year
Part Time; Two (2) years

Entry Requirements:
 Passes in a minimum of five (5) subjects at CSEC (CXC O’Level) General Proficiency in Grades I or II and from 1998, Grade III or
equivalent GCE O’Levels including Grades A, B or C in Mathematics, English Language, and a science subject or Physical Education.
Note: Acceptance will be on a competitive basis due to limitations on class sizes.

Bachelor in Sport Studies


Description:
The Bachelor in Sport Studies is intended to lay the foundation for an academic culture of research and scholarship in sport, and its allied fields, and
will offer opportunities in four (4) areas of interest or options:

 Sport Pedagogy  Sport Management


 Sport for Development  Exercise Science

Programme Venue: Mode of Delivery and Duration :


Corinth Campus Full Time only; Three (3) years

Entry Requirements:
 Passes in two (2) CAPE subjects (Units 1 and 2) or GCE A‘ Levels;
 Applicants must also possess a minimum of five (5) subjects at CSEC (CXC O’Level) General Proficiency in Grades I or II and from 1998,
Grade III or equivalent GCE O’Levels including Grades A, B or C in Mathematics, English Language and a science subject or Physical
Education; OR
 Certificate in Sport Studies or equivalent programme.
Note: Acceptance will be on a competitive basis due to limitations in class sizes.

It is important to note the following:


 Applicants with equivalent qualifications, as determined by the UTT, will also be considered for admission.
 Students writing examinations in May/June 2018 are advised to also submit applications prior to the closing date.
 CSEC (CXC O’Level) General Proficiency Grade III, from 1998, is accepted.
