Dua'a Mashlool ‫دعاء‬

‫المشلول‬
This du-a'a known as "supplication of the youth stricken for his sin," is quoted from the
work of Kaf-ami and from Muhaj al Da-wat by Sayyid ibn tawus. Through Imam Hussain(as)
it is reported that one day he and his father, after performing Hajj, caught sight of a
paralysed young man crying his eyes out in repentance. They went near to console him and
find out the reason of his sorry plight. He was a habitual sinner, always teased his father,
disobeyed him and treated him with contempt. One day, disgusted, the father invoked curse
upon him. So he was affected with paralysis. Then and there Imam Ali ibn abi Talib(as)
wrote his dua'a and gave it to him with instruction to recite after Isha salat. Next day fully
cured, he came to Imam Ali and said that he had recited the dua'a as told and went to
sleep. He saw the Holy prophet(sa) in the dream. The holy prophet, gently touched his body
with his hand and asked him to remember this dua'a as it contain ismi azam (the great
name of Allah).
Recite this dua'a after Isha salat. It brings countless blessings. All your legitimate desires
will be fulfilled. It drives away poverty and sickness. Sins are for given. Debts are cleared.
Enemies become friends. Domestic affairs are set aright. Disputes are settled in your
favour. Prisoners are set free mental worries disappear. Prosperity, sound mind and healthy
body stand by you at all times.
Mercy and forgiveness of sins are the main advantages the almighty Allah makes available if
this dua'a is recited regularly.

Generosity;

Subsisting,

howsoever You are

manifold rewards;

O Light of all lights; O ya nooral noore, ya modabberal omoore, ‫ر يـــا‬

all, have absolute power;

are well informed;
O You, who being ya man 'obeda fashakara ،‫شك ََر‬ َ َ‫عب ِد‬

worshipped, rewards
O You that being ya man 'oseya faghafara َ ‫غ‬

َ ‫يا‬
disobeyed forgives;
O You Whom no thought ya mal la tah-weehil fikaro, ‫ه‬

ْ َ‫ن ل ي‬ ْ ‫مـــ‬ َ ‫يـــا‬
can fully comprehend;
ِ ْ ‫ال‬
‫فك َُر‬
nor sight perceive ya la yod-rikohoo basaroon, ،‫صٌر‬ ُ ُ ‫رك‬

nor from whom any ya la yakhfa ' alaihe atharon, ،‫ه أ َث ٌَر‬

impression is hidden,
O Nourisher of Mankind; ya razeqal bashare, ‫ر‬ َ َ ‫زقَ ال ْب‬

O Ordainer of every ya moqaddera koollee qadarin, ،‫ر‬
ٍ َ ‫قد‬ ّ ُ ‫قدّ َر ك‬
َ ‫ل‬ َ ‫م‬

destiny.
O You of Exalted position; ya' ali-yalmakane, ‫ن‬ َ ْ ‫ي ال‬
ِ ‫مكا‬ َ ِ ‫يا عال‬

O You Formidable in Your ya shadeedal arkane,
ِ ‫شديدَ الْركا‬
foundations;
O Changer of times; ya mobad-delaz-zamane, ‫ن‬ َ ّ‫مب َد‬

O Acceptor of sacrifice; y'a qabelal qoorbane, ‫ن‬ ُ ْ ‫ل ال‬

O You full of favours and ya zal-manne, wal-ahsane, ‫ن‬ َ ْ ‫ذا ال‬

benefactions;

distinctive Glory

while no aspect of Your ya man la wash-gholohoo shanoon ' an
shanin,
‫ه‬ُ ُ ‫غل‬َ ‫شـــ‬ْ َ‫ن ل ي‬ ْ ‫مـــ‬ َ ‫يـــا‬
Glory is erased by the َ ‫ن‬ َ
prominence of another
،‫ن‬ٍ ْ‫شأ‬ ْ ‫ع‬ َ ‫ن‬ ٌ ْ‫شأ‬
aspect.
Oh Lord of great Glory ya ' azimash-shane, ‫ن‬ ّ ‫م ال‬
ِ ‫شأ‬ َ ‫عظي‬

O You that are present in ya man howa be-koolle makanin, ‫ل‬ ُ ِ‫و ب‬

rank and degree;
O You that accedes to ya mo'ti-yas-so'late, ‫ت‬ ْ ‫س‬

requests;

O You that brings the dead ya moh-ye-yal amwate,

together that which is
scattered.
O You that are informed of ya mottale'an ' alanni-yate, ‫ٰى‬ ‫عَلـــ‬
َ ً ‫مطِّلعـــا‬ ُ ‫يـــا‬
all intentions;

You that restores that ya radda ma qad fata, ‫ت‬
َ ‫قدْ فا‬ َ ‫يا رادّ ما‬
which has been lost;
O You that are not ya man-la tash-tabeho ' ‫ه‬ُ ِ ‫شـــت َب‬ْ َ‫ن ل ت‬ ْ ‫مـــ‬َ ‫يـــا‬
confused by a multiplicity

harassed by a multitude of
petitions;

and Whom no darkness can wa la tagh- shahooz-zolomato, ‫ه‬

hide or cover;

O Light of heaven and

the aged and decrepit;

O You that joins together

broken ones;

O Liberator of all

O Enricher of the

miserable poor;

frightened refugees;

ِ ‫سَتجي‬ ْ ‫م‬
O You for Whom alone are ya man lahoot-tadbeero wattaqdeero, ‫دبيُر‬ ُ ‫ن َلــ‬
ْ ‫ه الّتــ‬ ْ ‫مــ‬ َ ‫يــا‬
both destiny and disposal; ْ ّ ‫والت‬
‫قديُر‬ َ
O You for Whom all ya manil'aseero, alaihe sahloon yaseeroon, ِ ‫عل َْيــ‬
‫ه‬ َ ‫عسيُر‬ َ ْ ‫ن ال‬ ِ ‫م‬ َ ‫يا‬
difficult things are simple ٌ ‫ه‬
and easy;

O You that does not need ya man la yahtajo ila tafseerin, ‫ج ِإلــ ٰى‬ ُ ‫حتا‬ ْ َ‫ن ل ي‬ ْ ‫م‬ َ ‫يا‬
any explanation. ْ َ‫ت‬

O You Mighty over all ya man howa ' ala koolle shai-in qadeeroon, ‫ل‬ ّ ُ ‫عل ٰى ك‬ َ ‫و‬ َ ‫ه‬ ُ ‫ن‬ ْ ‫م‬ َ ‫يا‬
things; َ ‫ء‬ ْ
‫قديٌر‬ ٍ ‫شي‬
O You Knower of all ya man howa be-koolle shai-in khabiroon, ‫ل‬ ّ ‫كــ‬ ُ ِ‫و ب‬َ ‫هــ‬ ُ ‫ن‬ ْ ‫مــ‬ َ ‫يــا‬
things. َ
‫خبيٌر‬ َ ‫ء‬ ٍ ‫ي‬ ْ ‫ش‬
O You Seer of all things. ya man howa be-koollee shai-in baseeroon, ‫ل‬ ّ ‫كــ‬ ُ ِ‫و ب‬َ ‫هــ‬ ُ ‫ن‬ ْ ‫مــ‬ َ ‫يــا‬
،‫ء َبصيٌر‬ ٍ ‫ي‬ ْ ‫ش‬ َ
O You that makes breezes ya moorselar-reyahe, ‫ح‬ِ ‫ل الّر يا‬ َ ‫س‬ ِ ‫مْر‬ ُ ‫يا‬
blow;
O You that cleaves the ya faleqal asbahe, ‫ح‬
ِ ‫صبا‬
ْ ِ ‫ق ال‬

day-break;

O Reviver of the spirits;

all that have passed away;
O Giver of life to every ya moh-yeya koolle nafsin ba'dal mowte, ‫س‬

soul after death.

O my Means of defense in ya 'oddati fee shiddati ‫دتي‬

confronting hardships;
O my Guardian in strange ya hafezi fee ghoorbati, ‫ي فـــي‬ ِ ‫فظ‬ِ ‫يـــا حـــا‬

when the journey does tire
me out

and my kinsfolk hand me wa tosal-iemonil-aqaribo ‫ب‬ُ ‫ر‬

over to my foes
and all my comrades wa yakhzo-loni koollo sahebin ‫ل‬ ّ ‫كـــــ‬ ُ ‫خـــــذُُلني‬ ْ َ ‫وي‬ َ
forsake me.

have no guarantee;

have no wealth;

O Means of those who ya hirza man la hirza lahoo, ‫حــْرَز‬ ِ ‫نل‬ ْ ‫مــ‬ َ ‫حْرَز‬ ِ ‫يا‬

have no strength;

O Refuge of those who ya kahfa man la kahfa lahoo, ‫نل‬ ْ ‫مـــ‬ َ ‫ف‬ َ ‫هـــ‬ ْ َ ‫يـــا ك‬

have no refuge;

have no treasure;

who have none to rely on,

have no helper;

adjacent;

َ ‫وثي‬ َ ِ ‫يا ُرك ْن‬
firm;
O my God that are ya ilahi bit- tahqeeqi ،‫ق‬
ِ ‫حقي‬
ْ ّ ‫هي ِبالت‬
ِ ٰ‫يا ِإلـ‬
worshipped by virtue of
positive knowledge;
O Lord of the Ancient ya rabbal-baitil-attiqi, ِ ‫ب ال ْب َْيــــــ‬
‫ت‬ ّ ‫يــــــا َر‬
َ ْ ‫ال‬
House (the Ka'ba);

O You full of loving and ya shafiqo, ya rafiqo, ‫ق‬

Liberate me from the

choking fetters,

Remove from me all wasrif ' anni koolla hammin wa ghammin ‫ل‬ّ ‫عن ّــي ك ُـ‬ َ ‫ف‬ ْ ‫ر‬ ِ ‫صـ‬ ْ ‫وا‬ َ
sorrow, suffering and grief, wa zeeqin

Protect me from the evil wak-feni sharra ma la oteeqo ‫ش ـّر مــا ل‬ َ ‫فنــي‬ ِ ْ ‫واك‬ َ
that I am unable to bear,

Yusuf unto Yaqub; ُ ‫ع‬

O You that did cure Ayyub ya kashefa zorre ayy-ooba ‫ضـــّر‬ ُ ‫ف‬ َ ‫شـــ‬ ِ ‫يـــا كا‬
of his malady;

َ ‫أّيو‬
O You that did forgive the ya ghafera zambe dawooda, ،‫د‬
َ ‫و‬ ُ ‫ب دا‬ ِ ْ ‫فَر ذَن‬ ِ ‫يا غا‬
fault of Dawood;
O You that did lift up Isa ya rafe'a 'isabne maryama ‫ن‬ ِ ‫س ـ ٰى ب ْـ‬ َ ‫ع عي‬ َ ‫ف‬ ِ ‫يا را‬
‫م‬ َ َ ‫مْري‬ َ
‫دي‬ َ
and saved him from the wa moonje yaho min ِ ‫ن أي ْـ‬ ْ ‫مـ‬ ِ ‫ه‬ ُ ‫جي َـ‬ ِ ْ ‫من‬ ُ ‫و‬ َ
ُ ‫ال َْيه‬
clutches of the Jews;
aidil ya-hoode, ،‫وِد‬
O You that did answer the ya mojeeba nidaa'e younosa fiz-zoloma-te ‫س‬ َ ُ ‫ء ُيون‬ ِ ‫ب ِندا‬ َ ‫مجي‬ ُ ‫يا‬
prayer of Yunus from the

ِ ِ ‫مت‬ َ ‫ح‬ ْ ‫عل ِي ّا ب َِر‬ ً َ
mercy; ali-yan be-rahmatehi,
O You that did save Nooh ya man najja noohan minal gharqe, ً ‫ج ـ ٰى ُنوح ـا‬ ّ َ‫ن ن‬ ْ ‫مـ‬ َ ‫يــا‬
from drowning;
،‫ق‬ ِ ‫غَر‬ ْ
َ ‫ن ال‬ َ ‫م‬ ِ
ً ‫ك عــادا‬ َ ‫هل َـ‬ ْ ‫نأ‬ َ
O You that did destroy the ya man ahlaka 'aadan nil-oola
ْ ‫مـ‬ َ ‫يــا‬
former tribe of Ad
‫لول ٰى‬ ُ ‫ا‬
and then Thamud, so that wa thamooda fama ab-qa ‫فما أ َْبق ٰى‬ َ َ‫مود‬ ُ َ ‫وث‬ َ
no trade of them remained,
and destroyed the people of wa qowma noohin min qablo ‫ل‬ َ ‫ن‬
ُ ْ ‫قب‬ ْ ‫م‬
ِ ‫ح‬
ٍ ‫و‬
ُ ‫من‬
َ ‫و‬ َ ‫و‬
ْ ‫ق‬ َ
Noah before that,
for verily they were the innahoom kan-oo hoom azlama wa atgha ‫م‬
ْ ‫هـــ‬
ُ ‫م كـــاُنوا‬ ْ ‫هـــ‬ ُ ّ ‫إ ِن‬
ْ ‫وأ‬ َ َ
َ َ ‫أظْل‬
most unjust and most
rebellious;
،‫طغ ٰى‬ َ ‫م‬
and overturned the ruined walmo 'tafekata ahwa, ‫هو ٰى‬ ْ َ‫ة أ‬
َ َ ‫فك‬ ْ ‫م‬
ِ َ ‫ؤت‬ ُ ْ ‫وال‬َ
and deserted towns;
O You that destroyed the ya man dammara ' ala qowme lootin ‫علــ ٰى‬ َ ‫مــَر‬ ّ َ‫ن د‬ ْ ‫مــ‬ َ ‫يــا‬
people of Lot; َ
‫ط‬
ٍ ‫و‬ ُ ‫وم ِ ل‬ ْ ‫ق‬
and annihilated the people wa damdama, 'ala qowme shoaibin,
ِ ‫وم‬ ْ ‫قـ‬ َ ‫عل ـ ٰى‬ َ ‫م‬ َ َ ‫م ـد‬ ْ َ ‫ود‬ َ
of Sho'aib; ُ
،‫ب‬ ٍ ْ ‫عي‬ َ ‫ش‬
O You that chose Ibrahim ya manit- tak-haza ibrahima khaleelan, ‫براهيم‬
َ ْ ِ ‫خذ َ إ‬ َ ّ ‫ن ات‬ ِ ‫م‬ َ ‫يا‬
as a friend; ً ‫خلي‬
،‫ل‬ َ
O You that chose Musa as ya manit-takhaza moosa kaleeman, ‫موســ ٰى‬ ُ َ ‫خذ‬ َ ّ ‫ن ات‬ ِ ‫م‬ َ ‫يا‬
one spoken unto; ً ‫كليما‬ َ
ya manit-takhaza mohammadan sal-lal-aho ‫حمدا ً صــل ّ ٰى‬
and chose Muhammed
' alaihe wa alehi ajma' eena habee-ban,
َ ّ َ ‫م‬ ُ َ ‫خذ‬ َ ّ ‫وات‬ َ
(Your blessings be upon
‫ه‬ِ ‫وآِلـــ‬ َ ‫ه‬ ِ ‫علْيـــ‬ َ َ ‫ه‬ ُ ‫اللـــ‬
him and his Progeny, all of َ
‫ن‬ َ ‫معيـــ‬ َ ‫ج‬ ْ ‫مأ‬ ْ ‫هـــ‬ َ َ ‫و‬
them) as Your Beloved; ِ ْ ‫علي‬ َ
،‫حبيبًا‬ َ
O You that gave unto ya mo'teya loqmanal hikmata ‫ن‬ َ ‫ي لقمـــا‬ْ ُ َ ِ ‫ؤت‬ ْ ‫مـــ‬ ُ ‫يـــا‬
Luqman wisdom;
‫ة‬َ ‫م‬ َ ْ ‫حك‬ ِ ْ ‫ال‬
and bestowed upon wal-wahaba le-solaimana moolkan, la ‫ن‬ َ ‫سـل َْيما‬ ُ ِ‫ب ل‬ َ ‫ه‬ ِ ‫وال ْــوا‬ َ
Sulaiman a kingdom the yambaghi le-ahedim-mim-ba'dehi,
‫د‬ٍ ‫حــ‬ ََ ‫مْلكا ً ل ي َن َْبغي ِل‬
like of which shall not be ُ
merited by anyone after ،‫ه‬ ِ ‫د‬ ِ ‫ع‬ ْ َ‫ن ب‬ ْ ‫م‬ ِ
him;
O You that did afford ya man nasara zal-qarnaine ' ai-al- ‫ذا‬ َ ‫صــــَر‬ َ َ‫ن ن‬ ْ ‫مــــ‬ َ ‫يــــا‬
malookil-jababerate
succour unto the Zul
Qarnayn against the
‫ٰى‬ ‫عَلـــــ‬ َ ‫ن‬ ِ ‫قْرن َْيـــــ‬ َ ْ ‫ال‬
mighty tyrants; ،‫ة‬
ِ ‫جباب َِر‬ َ ْ ‫ك ال‬ ِ ‫مُلو‬ ُ ْ ‫ال‬
O You that did grant unto ya man a'tal-khizral-hayata, ‫ٰى‬ ‫عطَــــ‬ ْ َ‫ن أ‬ ْ ‫مــــ‬ َ ‫يــــا‬
Khizr long life;
،‫ة‬ َ ‫حيا‬ ْ
َ ‫ضَر ال‬ ْ ‫خ‬ ِ ‫ال‬ ْ
and brought back for wa radda le- yoosha 'abne noon -ash- ‫ون‬ ُ ‫ن ن‬ ِ ْ‫ع ب‬ َ ‫ش‬ َ ‫وَردّ ل ُِيو‬ َ
Yusha, the son of Nun, the shamse ba'da ghoroobiha
‫د‬
َ ‫ـــــ‬‫ـ‬‫ع‬ ‫ب‬
ْ َ َ ْ ‫س‬ ‫م‬ ‫ـــــ‬ ‫ـ‬ ‫ش‬ّ ‫ال‬
sun after it had set;
‫وِبها‬ ُ ‫غُر‬
O You that gave solace ya man rabata, ala qalbe oome moosa ‫علــ ٰى‬ َ
َ ‫ن َرَبــط‬ ْ ‫مــ‬ َ ‫يــا‬
ُ
ِ ْ ‫قل‬
unto the heart of Musa's َ
mother;
‫موس ٰى‬ ُ ‫م‬ ّ ‫بأ‬
‫م‬ َ ‫ن‬ َ
and protected the chastity wa ahsana farja ma-ryamab-nate 'imrana, َ ‫مْرَيــ‬ َ ‫ج‬ َ ‫فْر‬ َ ‫ص‬ َ ‫ح‬ ْ ‫وأ‬ َ
of Mariam, the daughter of
Imran;
،‫ن‬َ ‫مرا‬ ْ ‫ع‬ ِ ‫ت‬ ِ َ ‫اب ْن‬
 ya man hassana yahya-bna zakariya minaz- ‫ٰى‬ ‫حي َـ‬
ْ َ‫ن ي‬
O You that did fortify
zambe,
َ ‫صـ‬ ّ ‫ح‬ َ ‫ن‬ ْ ‫م‬ َ ‫يا‬
Yahya, the Son of Zakaria
against sin; ِ ْ ‫ن الذّن‬
‫ب‬ َ ‫م‬ِ ‫رّيا‬ ِ َ ‫ن َزك‬ َ ْ‫ب‬
and abated the wrath for wa sakkana 'an moosal-ghazaba, ‫ســ ٰى‬ َ ‫مو‬ ُ ‫ن‬ ْ ‫ع‬ َ ‫ن‬ َ ّ ‫سك‬ َ ‫و‬َ
Musa; ْ ،‫ب‬َ ‫ض‬
َ ‫غ‬َ ‫ال‬
O You that gave glad
ِ َ ‫شـَر َزك‬
‫ري ّــا‬ ّ َ‫ن ب‬
ْ ‫مـ‬َ ‫يــا‬
ya man bash-shera zakariyyabe-yahya,
tidings of (the Birth of)
Yahya unto Zakaria;
،‫حي ٰى‬ ْ َ ‫ب ِي‬
O You that saved Ismaeel ‫فـــــدا‬ َ ‫ن‬
ya man fada isma'eela minaz-zabhe be-
ْ ‫مـــــ‬ َ ‫يـــــا‬
from slaughter by zabhin ' azim,
substituting for him the
‫ح‬ ِ ْ ‫ن الذّب‬ َ ‫م‬ ِ ‫ل‬ َ ‫سماعي‬ ْ ِ‫إ‬
Great Sacrifice; ،‫م‬ ٍ ‫عظي‬ َ ‫ح‬ ٍ ْ ‫ذب‬ ِ ِ‫ب‬
O You that did accept the ya man qabela qoorbana ha-beela ‫ن‬ َ ‫قْربــا‬ ُ ‫ل‬ َ ‫قب ِـ‬ َ ‫ن‬ ْ ‫مـ‬ َ ‫يا‬
offering of Habeel َ ‫هابي‬
‫ل‬
and placed the curse upon waj'alal-la'nata ' ala qabeela, ‫علــ ٰى‬ َ ‫ة‬ َ ‫عَنــ‬ ْ ّ ‫ل الل‬ َ ‫ع‬ َ ‫ج‬ َ ‫و‬ َ
Qabeel. َ ‫قابي‬
،‫ل‬
ya hazemal-ahzabe le mohammadin sal-lal- ‫حــزاب‬ ْ ‫م ال‬ َ
O Subduer of the alien
aho ' alaihe wa alehi
ِ َ ‫ز‬ ِ ‫يــا هــا‬
hordes for Muhammad -
‫ه‬ُ ‫صــل ٰى اللــ‬ ّ َ ‫د‬ ٍ ‫مــ‬ ّ ‫ح‬ َ ‫م‬ ُ ِ‫ل‬
the blessings of Allah be
upon him and his Progeny - ،‫ه‬ ِ ِ ‫وآل‬ َ ‫ه‬ ِ ْ ‫علي‬ َ َ
bestow Your blessings salli ‘ala mohammadin wa ' aale ‫د‬
ٍ ‫مــ‬ ّ ‫ح‬ َ ‫م‬ ُ ‫علــ ٰى‬ َ ‫ل‬ ّ ‫صــ‬ َ
upon Muhammad and the mohammadin
Progeny of Muhammad
‫د‬
ٍ ‫م‬ ّ ‫ح‬ َ ‫م‬ ُ ‫ل‬ ِ ‫وآ‬ َ
and upon all Your wa ' ala jami'il ambiyya'e wal-moorsaleena ‫جميـــــع‬ َ ‫علـــــ ٰى‬ َ ‫و‬
wa malaa'ekatekal-moqarrabeena ِ َ
Messengers and upon the
‫ن‬ َ ‫ســــــــــــــلي‬ َ ‫مْر‬ ُ ‫ال‬ ْ
Angels that are near You
‫ن‬ َ ‫قّربي‬ َ ‫م‬ ُ ْ ‫ك ال‬ َ ِ ‫ملئ ِك َت‬ َ ‫و‬ َ
َ‫عِتـــــك‬ َ ‫ل طا‬ َ
and upon all Your obedient wa ahle ta-'ateka ajmaeena
ِ ‫هـــــ‬ ْ ‫وأ‬ َ
servants.
،‫ن‬ ‫معي‬ َ
َ َ ‫أ‬ ‫ج‬ ْ
And I beg of You all the wa as-aloka be-koolle mas-'alatin sa'alaka ‫ل‬ ّ ‫كـــــ‬ ُ ِ‫ك ب‬ َ ُ ‫ســـــأ َل‬ ْ
َ ‫وأ‬
َ
requests which anyone has beha ahadoon mimman razee-ta ' anho
‫بهــا‬ َ
‫ك‬ َ ‫ل‬ َ ‫مســأ َل َة ســأ‬
begged of You with whom ِ َ ٍ ْ َ
‫ت‬ ‫رضــي‬ َ
You has been pleased َ َ ْ ّ ِ ٌ َ ‫أ‬
‫ن‬ ‫مــ‬ ‫م‬ ‫د‬ ‫حــ‬
،‫ه‬ ُ ْ ‫عن‬ َ
and unto whom You has fahatamta lahoo ' alal ijabate, ‫علــ ٰى‬ َ َ ‫ه‬ ُ ‫ت لــ‬ َ َ ‫مــ‬ ْ َ ‫حت‬ َ ‫ف‬ َ
assured the granting
thereof,
‫ة‬
ِ َ ‫لجاب‬ ِ ‫ا‬
O Allah, O Allah, O Allah, ya allaho, ya allaho, ya allaho, ‫ه يــا‬ ُ ‫ه يــا َالل ـ‬ ُ ‫يــا َالل ـ‬
،‫ه‬ ُ ‫َالل‬
O Most Merciful, O Most ya rahmano, ya rahmano, ya rahmano, ‫يارحـ ٰمن يا رحمــن‬
ُ َ ُ َ
Merciful, O Most Merciful,
،‫ن‬ ُ ‫ياَرحـ ٰم‬
O Most Beneficient, O ya raheemo, ya raheemo ya raheemo, ‫م يا‬ ُ ‫م يا َرحي‬ ُ ‫يا َرحي‬
Most Beneficient, O Most
Beneficient,
،‫م‬ ُ ‫َرحي‬
O Lord of Majesty and ya zal-jalale wal-ikrame, ya zal-jalale wal-
ikrame, ya zal-jalale wal-ikrame,
‫ل‬ِ ‫جل‬ َ ْ ‫ذا ال‬ َ ‫يــــــــــــا‬
Grace, O Lord of Majesty َ ‫كـــــرام ِ يـــــا‬ ُ ِ ‫وال‬
and Grace, O Lord of
‫ذا‬ َ
Majesty and Grace. ‫كرام ِ يــا‬ ْ ِ ‫و ال‬ َ ِ ‫ل‬ ‫جل‬ َ ْ ‫ل‬ ‫ا‬
،‫م‬
ِ ‫كرا‬ ْ ِ ‫وال‬ َ ‫ل‬ ِ ‫جل‬ َ ْ ‫ذا ال‬ َ
Through You, Through behi, behi, behi, behi behi behi, behi, ‫ه‬
ِ ‫ه ب ِــ‬ ِ ‫ه ب ِــ‬ ِ ‫ه ب ِــ‬ ِ ‫ه ب ِـ‬ ِ ِ‫بـ‬
You, Through You,
Through You, Through
‫ه‬
ِ ‫ه ب ِـ‬ ِ ‫ب ِـ‬
You, Through You,
Through You
I beseech You with the as'aloka be-koolle ismin sammaita behi ‫ل إس ـم‬
ٍ ْ ِ ّ ‫ك ب ِك ُـ‬ َ ُ ‫س ـأ َل‬ ْ
َ‫أ‬
help of all the Names nafsaka
‫ك‬ َ ‫س‬ َ ‫ف‬ ْ َ‫ه ن‬ ِ ِ‫ت ب‬ َ ْ ‫مي‬ ّ ‫س‬ َ
whereby You have named
Yourself,
َ َ‫أ‬
or which You have aw anza-itahoo fee shai-in min kootobeka ‫ء‬ ٍ ‫ي‬ ْ ‫ش‬ َ ‫ه في‬ ُ َ ‫و أن َْزل ْت‬ ْ
revealed in any of Your َ ِ ‫ن ك ُت ُب‬
inspired Scriptures,
‫ك‬ ْ ‫م‬ ِ
َ‫أ‬
or Which You have awis-taatharta behi fee '1imil-ghaibe indaka ‫فــي‬ ِ ‫ه‬ ِ ِ‫ت ب‬ َ ‫سَتأث َْر‬ ْ ‫وا‬ ِ
inscribed in Your
knowledge of the
،‫ك‬ َ َ‫عن ْد‬ ِ ‫ب‬ ِ ْ ‫غي‬ َ ْ ‫عل ْم ِ ال‬ ِ
unknown;
and (I beseech You) in the wa bema'aqedil-izze min 'arsheka ‫ن‬ ْ ‫مــ‬ ِ ‫عــّز‬ ِ ْ ‫د ال‬ ِ ‫ق‬ ِ ‫معا‬ َ ِ ‫وب‬ َ
name of the honored and َ ‫ش‬
exalted positions of Your
،‫ك‬ ِ ْ ‫ر‬ ‫ع‬
َ
Throne,
wa be-moontahar-rahmate min kitabeka ‫ة‬ ِ ‫مـــ‬
and in the name of the َ ‫ح‬ ْ ‫ٰى الّر‬ ‫هـــ‬ َ َ ‫من ْت‬ ُ ِ ‫وب‬
َ
utmost extent of Your َ ِ ‫كتاب‬
Mercy as expressed in
،‫ك‬ ِ ‫ن‬ْ ‫م‬ ِ
Your Book (the Quran)
‫فــي‬ ِ ‫ن مــا‬ َ َ ‫وبما ل‬
and in the name of that wa bema low anna ma fil arze min ّ ‫وأ‬ ْ ِ َ
which "If all the trees on shajaratin aqlamoon
‫ة‬ ٍ ‫جَر‬ َ ‫شــ‬ َ ‫ن‬ َ
earth were to become pens ْ ‫مــ‬ ِ ‫ض‬ ِ ‫ا َلْر‬
‫م‬ ٌ ‫قل‬ ْ ‫أ‬
and the sea, with seven wal-bahro yamooddo-hoo ‫ن‬
ْ ‫مــ‬ ِ ُ‫مــدّه‬ ُ َ ‫حــُر ي‬ ْ َ ‫وال ْب‬ َ
more seas to help it, (were
‫ر‬ ‫ح‬ ‫ب‬َ ‫أ‬ ‫ة‬ ‫ع‬ ‫ب‬‫س‬ ‫ه‬ ‫د‬ ‫ع‬
ink) mim-ba'dehi sab'ato abhorin ٍ ُ ْ ُ َ ْ َ ِ ِ ْ َ‫ب‬
the Words of Allah would ma nafedat ka-lematoollahe ‫ت‬ُ ‫ت ك َِلمــا‬ ْ َ‫فــد‬ ِ َ ‫مــا ن‬
not come to an end.
‫ه‬
ِ ‫الل‬
Verily Allah is the innal-laha azeezon hakeem, ‫م‬ٌ ‫حكي‬ َ ‫عزيٌز‬ َ ‫ه‬ َ ‫ن الل‬ ّ ِ‫إ‬
Honoured, the Wise"
31:27;
 ‫ك‬ َ ِ ‫ســمائ‬ َ َ ُ ‫و أ َس ـأ َل‬
And I beseech You with wa as'aloka be-asmaa'ekal hoosnal-lati
na'attaha fee kitabeka
ْ ‫ك ب ِأ‬ ْ َ
the help of Your Beautiful
‫عّتها‬ َ َ ‫ن‬ ‫لتي‬ ّ ‫ا‬ ‫ى‬ ٰ َ ْ ‫ح‬
‫ن‬ ‫س‬ ُ ْ ‫ال‬
Names which You have
praised in Your Book, َ ِ ‫كتاب‬
‫ك‬ ِ ‫في‬
َ
saying “The most beautiful faqoolta wa lillahil asmaa'ool-hoosna fad-
ooho beha
ُ‫سماء‬ ْ ‫ه ال‬ ِ ‫ولل‬ َ ‫ت‬ َ ْ ‫قل‬ ُ ‫ف‬ َ
ُ ْ ‫ال‬
names belong to Allah: so َ ‫ســـن ٰى‬
call on him by them” 7:180
‫ه‬
ُ ‫و‬ ُ ‫دع‬ ْ ‫فـــا‬ ْ ‫ح‬
،‫ِبها‬
And You have said "Call waqulta ‘ud’ooni astajib lakom ‫عــــوني‬ ُ ْ‫ت اُد‬ َ ‫قْلــــ‬ ُ ‫و‬ َ
unto Me and I shall answer
،‫م‬ ُ ‫ك‬ َ ‫ل‬ ‫ب‬ َ
you” 40:60 ْ ْ ِ ْ ‫أ‬‫ج‬ َ ‫ت‬ ‫س‬
and You has said, "And wa qoolta wa iza sa'al-aka 'ibadi ' anni fa- ‫ك‬ َ َ ‫ســأ َل‬ َ ‫وِإذا‬ َ ‫ت‬ َ ‫قْلــ‬ ُ ‫و‬ َ
when My servants ask inni qareeboon ojeebo da'w-atad-da'e iza
da'ane ‫عن ّــي فإ ِّنـــي‬ َ َ ‫عبادي‬ ِ
something of Me, lo, I am ُ
near, and I grant the prayer ‫ة‬
َ ‫و‬ َ ‫عــ‬ ْ َ‫ب د‬ ُ ‫ب أجيــ‬ ٌ ‫قري‬ َ
of the supplicant when he ،‫ن‬ ِ ‫دعا‬ َ ‫ع ِإذا‬ ِ ‫دا‬ ّ ‫ال‬
asks anything of Me”
2:186
And You has said, "O My wa qoolta ya 'lbadeyal-lazeena asrafoo ' ala ‫دي‬
َ ِ ‫عبـــا‬
ِ ‫ت يـــا‬ َ ‫قل ْـــ‬ ُ ‫و‬ َ
servants who have anfosehim la ta-qnatoo min rahmatil-iahe
‫عل ٰى‬ َ ‫وا‬ َ َ ّ ‫ال‬
wronged yourselves, ُ ‫سَرف‬ ْ ‫ن أ‬ َ ‫ذي‬
‫طــوا‬ُ َ ‫قن‬ ْ َ‫م ل ت‬ ُ ْ ‫أن‬ َ
despair not of the Mercy of ْ ‫ه‬ ِ ‫س‬ ِ ‫ف‬
Allah; ‫ه‬
ِ ‫ة الل‬ ِ ‫م‬ َ ‫ح‬ ْ ‫ن َر‬ ْ ‫م‬ ِ
verilly Allah forgives all innal-laha yaghferooz-zonooba jami-an ‫فـــــُر‬ ِ ‫غ‬ ْ َ‫ه ي‬ َ ‫ن اللـــــ‬ ّ ِ‫إ‬
the sins; ً ‫جميعا‬ َ ‫ب‬ َ ‫الذُّنو‬
verily He is the Forgiving, innahoo howal ghafooror ra'-him, ‫فـــوُر‬ ُ ‫غ‬ َ ْ ‫و ال‬ َ ‫هـــ‬ ُ ‫ه‬ ُ ‫إ ِّنـــ‬
the Merciful." 39:53
،‫م‬ ُ ‫الّرحي‬
‫ك يا‬ َ ُ ‫سأل‬ َ َ َ
Therefore I pray unto You, wa ana as'aloka ya ilahi wa a'dooka ya
ْ ‫وأَنا أ‬ َ
My God, and I ask You, rabbe,
‫عوك يا‬ َ ُ ْ‫وأد‬ َ
My Cherisher and َ ‫هي‬ ِ ٰ‫ِإلـ‬
Sustainer, ‫ب‬ ّ ‫َر‬
‫سّيـدي‬ َ ‫جو‬ َ
and I hope from You, my wa arjooka ya sayyadi
َ ‫ك يا‬ ُ ‫وأْر‬ َ
Chief,
َ
and I crave Your wa atma'o fee ijabati, ‫ع في ِإجــاَبتي‬ ُ ‫م‬ َ ْ‫وأط‬ َ
acceptance of my prayer, O َ
my Protector, even as You ya mowlaya kama wa' ad-tani ‫ي كمــــا‬ َ ‫ول‬ ْ ‫مــــ‬ َ ‫يــــا‬
have promised me, ،‫عدَْتني‬ َ ‫و‬ َ
and I call upon You even wa qad da'owtoka kama amartani ‫كمــا‬ َ ‫ك‬ َ ‫وُتــ‬ ْ ‫ع‬ َ َ‫قــدْ د‬ َ ‫و‬ َ
as You have commanded
‫مْرَتني‬ َ
me َ ‫أ‬
‫ت‬ َ ْ ‫ع‬ ْ ‫فا‬ َ
So, do unto me what faf-al bi ma anta ah-lohoo, ya karimo
َ ‫ل بي مــا أْنــ‬ َ ‫ف‬
pleases You to do, O
Generous One!
،‫م‬ ُ ‫كري‬ َ ‫ه يا‬ ُ ُ ‫هل‬ ْ َ‫أ‬
And all Praise be to Allah, wal-hamdo lil-iahe rabbil-' a-lameena, ‫ب‬ ِ ‫مـــدُ لّلـــ‬
ّ ‫ه َر‬ ْ ‫ح‬ َ ْ ‫وال‬ َ
the Cherisher and Sustainer
‫ن‬
َ ‫لمي‬ َ ‫لعا‬ ْ ‫ا‬
of the worlds,
and the blessings of Allah wa sal-lal-laho ' ala mohammadin wa alehi ‫علــ ٰى‬ َ ‫ه‬ ُ ‫صــل ّ ٰى اللــ‬ َ ‫و‬
َ
be upon Muhammad and ajma'een
‫ن‬ َ
all His Descendants. َ ‫معي‬ َ ‫ج‬ْ ‫هأ‬ ِ ِ ‫وآل‬َ ‫د‬ٍ ‫م‬ ّ ‫ح‬َ ‫م‬ ُ
